Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1031: Chapter 368: Hongguan Great Battle, Zen Gold Powder and Six Vajra Mantras, the Shortsighted and Foolish Eight Town People (Part 3)

Jiang Yuanlong likely felt it wasn’t fast enough, and he suddenly shouted sternly, ”Hear me, reinforcements of the Seven Towns! The top hundred who kill the most enemies in this battle will each be rewarded with a Dragon Carp Pill, the top ten with five each. There are overseers in the army; I, Jiang, will keep my word. After the battle, come find me.”

Brush......

Nearly two thousand Cold Resistance Level soldiers of the Seven Towns turned their gaze simultaneously upon hearing this. Not to mention the ordinary Cold Resistance Level soldiers, even the seven reinforcement commanders like Huang Tianxing and Qin Yuanhai had their pupils involuntarily tremble.

”Alright, since Lord Jiang means what he says, I’ll fight a battle for you, Jiangxia!”

”Deputy Army Chief Jiang’s boldness, I, Qin, will remember it!”

”Brothers, since Jiangxia is willing to give the real stuff, what more needs to be said?”

”Go, break through Hongguan Pass!”

.........

With great rewards, there must be brave men.

Last night, by exploiting the Seven Towns reinforcements’ determination to not die, the successful planning of the Snow Forest raid only proved Jiang Yuanlong to be a competent general; but now, being able to stir up the fighting spirit of the Seven Towns reinforcements with just one sentence on the battlefield proves he is worthy of being called excellent.

Even reinforcement commanders like Huang Tianxing were so excited, not to mention the ordinary Cold Resistance Level soldiers of the Seven Towns, who were now all charging toward the pass with fervent zeal alongside the Defensive Army.

The signs of Dajue Temple’s retreat became even more evident.

”My lord, something’s not right. Those Zen Temple Bhikkhus are infiltrating the crowd, moving towards the outside of the pass, and it’s not just one or two, it’s all of them!”

The Seven Towns reinforcements were stationed to the east, or rather, at the rear position. Wang Tao, wielding his sword, split open two Earth-digging Realm soldiers in front of him and quickly spoke to Lu Yang behind him. On this battlefield of over two hundred thousand people, the noise was already extremely chaotic, so he didn’t need to lower his voice at all.

”I’ve already noticed. Zhu Shunlin and Lin Fan, go inform everyone to move with me to the outside; Dajue Temple has a backup plan, and they deliberately left the pass!”

Wang Tao was observing, just as Lu Yang was. He deliberately kept people trailing at the back throughout the battle, and his eyes never left those Zen Temple Bhikkhus. He had long noticed that the thousands of Bhikkhus seemed to be besieged, but were actually madly infiltrating the crowd, moving towards the eastern side of the pass. Some even pursued this direction, despite receiving several cuts on their bodies.

There’s definitely something fishy going on!

After Lu Yang sent Zhu Lin and Lin Fan to notify the 31 people at East Ridge, he turned to look at the already bloodthirsty people of Jiangxia around him. His heart suddenly throbbed violently, and then he glanced outside the eastern pass, realizing that only two or three thousand people were left outside, being blocked by those inside the pass. He instantly realized something.

”They intend to close the gates and fight the dogs trapped inside. Once all 180,000 troops are inside, escaping from this narrow pass will be difficult!”

For the narrow Hongguan Pass, which isn’t even two kilometers wide, 180,000 people are simply too many. Even if they stood one meter apart in a single file, they could only roughly form two thousand long ranks. 180,000 people are a concept that means forming hundreds of such long ranks, and rushing in all at once is impossible.

Currently, inside the pass, there’s virtually no free space. The two or three thousand people outside aren’t unwilling to enter; they just can’t squeeze in, or they enter very slowly. They can only wait for a gap to appear on the inside, allowing them entrance onto the battlefield.

This gap, of course, can only be created by those inside the pass.

The most pivotal among them is, of course, Jiang Yuanlong, who fights fiercely on the west side, along with his two thousand Defensive Army soldiers and two thousand Cold Resistance Level soldiers.

The deeper they advance, the more the battlefield pushes westward, creating more gaps and accelerating the speed for those waiting outside to enter.

Lu Yang, along with the 31 from East Ridge, continuously retreated on the battlefield until they were only a hundred meters away from the pass.

”No more retreating; the oversight team is right behind. We’d blow our cover if we retreated further!”

Hearing Lu Yang’s words, everyone immediately stopped retreating and instead began engaging the nearby enemy troops, trying to stay together as much as possible as a group of thirty.

Jiangxia’s army has an oversight team, composed of about over five hundred people, directly led by Zhou Shiyan and Lu Hong. They are prompting the last 20,000 Earth-digging Realm soldiers waiting outside to quickly enter the pass and join the battle.

”They’re urging them in for slaughter, aren’t they! For the trap to work, the door must be shut, but what backup does Dajue Temple still have...”

Lu Yang looked at the increasing number of Zen Temple Bhikkhus approaching the eastern pass, estimating nearly a thousand of them, and his eyes showed curiosity.

From the start of the battle till now, two hours had passed, and it was officially the latter half of the night, yet there were about four hours left until dawn. For Jiangxia’s side, time was definitely more than enough.

Within the pass, there were no fewer than 20,000 corpses on the ground, forcing everyone to fight while stepping on them. During Cold Resistance Level clashes, countries sometimes had to hurl bodies away with force. Essentially, the entire inside of the pass was like a battlefield with scattered limbs and corpses everywhere—it was not exaggerated to put it like that.

Upon closer inspection, it could still be discerned that most of the corpses belonged to Dajue Temple’s soldiers, aligning with their current retreating situation.

”Dajue Temple has only about seventy thousand troops. With the death rate exceeding twenty percent, they’re still not collapsing; this Demon Temple really does know how to bewitch people!”

Lu Yang looked at the Qinghepu army still fighting desperately, apprehension flashing in his eyes. He had heard from Yuan Cheng before that an army that maintained its combat strength after losing more than twenty percent of its soldiers couldn’t merely be considered elite; they must be determined elites ready for a death struggle.
