Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 871: Chapter 334: Hanqiong’s Seven Divisions, Moao Mountain, Beishuo Revisited 4

Lu Dong looked at the thirty members of the Steel Mane Team and suddenly noticed the number of people at the Cold Resistance Level in the team. Surprisingly, there were seven, and a look of astonishment appeared on his face.

”The Steel Mane Team has had another breakthrough, congratulations to Lord Zhao!”

The Steel Mane Team has always been in Hanqiong, so Lu Dong knew very well that, like the East Sun Team, they had only six people at the Cold Resistance Level. The extra one clearly had just recently made a breakthrough.

”Hahaha, Lord Lu, you have a keen eye. Zhao Shen just broke through three days ago, and I haven’t had the chance to report to Xia City yet. Zhao Shen, come quickly and greet Lord Lu!”

On the flank of the Steel Mane Team, the newly-promoted middle-aged person at the Cold Resistance Level immediately stepped forward, cupped his hands, and bowed to Lu Yang: ”Zhao Shen greets Lord Lu!”

”No need for formalities.”

Also with the surname Zhao, there’s a high probability he’s from Zhao Hu’s family!

Lu Yang nodded and signaled Zhao Shen to rise. Then, he looked around at everyone, his expression serious, and said solemnly, ”Fan Kui should be waiting for us at the end over there. Let me be clear first. Beyond the dark passage is unfamiliar territory, which means danger. Tonight, I will take you over there, just to scout the situation, not to engage in any action. Everyone must follow my commands and shall not act on their own. Does everyone understand?”

The crowd saw Lu Yang’s serious expression. Their demeanor also became more solemn and they nodded, responding in unison, ”Understood, my lord!”

”Good, then let’s go!”

Lu Yang finished speaking and was the first to jump into the dark passage, followed closely by Zhao Hu, Zhu Shun, Wang Tao, and the subsequent hundred elite personnel.

Bang...

A fifty-meter-deep dark passage, and as soon as Lu Yang jumped down, there was a loud crash.

Having stayed in Hanqiong for over eight months, Lu Yang had descended dozens of times before and was not unfamiliar with it. He skillfully proceeded east along the dark passage.

The current key task of the Hanqiong Artisan Department is to clear this dark passage, so there are people entering and exiting every day. A coal lantern was placed every hundred meters for lighting, so it wasn’t dark at all.

In June, over twenty kilometers of it had been cleared, and now Fan Kui didn’t know how far it had been cleared. Lu Dong was not impatient and led the people along the dark passage heading east.

”We’ve been walking for almost over forty kilometers now, haven’t we? Still not done?”

After walking for almost an hour, they still hadn’t reached the end, and the impatient Zhao Hu finally couldn’t help but voice his frustration.

”We haven’t always been heading east. This tunnel has curves and must have turned left a few times in the middle. We should be heading north now!”

Wang Tao, with a good sense of direction, immediately identified their current heading.

”Heading north? That means the exit isn’t necessarily the top of Twin Dragon Mountain. That’s right, if it led straight to the top, how could Han Feng have dared to escape with over a thousand people from here.”

”Keep going. The temperature is starting to drop, so it shouldn’t be far now!”

Lu Yang’s intuition was correct. After walking less than five more kilometers, the sound of airflow became louder and louder. After walking forward another five hundred meters, they finally heard voices from the front of the tunnel.

”The Defender is here!”

”Lord Fan, Lu the Defender is here.”

”Greetings to the Defender, Lord Zhao, Mr. Zhu, and Lord Wang.”

The tunnel had indeed been opened through. Lu Yang saw the cave entrance from afar and his expression immediately turned excited.

”No need for formalities, Fan Kui, have you gone out to look?”

Fan Kui shook his head and replied, ”As soon as the dark passage was cleared, I immediately sent someone to inform the lords. We only glanced out from the entrance. I estimate this should be the north side of Twin Dragon Mountain, not far from the perimeter. If the lords want to explore, you can head north.”

Lu Yang nodded, walked to the entrance, stuck his head out to look outside, and his expression immediately turned excited.

They were at the entrance, situated in the middle of a steep slope over a hundred meters high.

Outside the cave was still a world of white snow, not very different from the three places of Redwood Ridge, Arrow Bamboo Forest, and Long Mountain.

What truly excited Lu Yang was the countless unfamiliar vegetation at a glance, the occasional glimpses of never-before-seen Cold Beasts, and the complex mountain formations not far away... This was a new world completely different from the Pingxi Plain terrain at the foot of Twin Dragon Mountain, an unfamiliar territory where Great Xia had never set foot.

”Zhao Hu, Zhu Shun, Wang Tao, get everyone ready to go out with me!”

At Lu Yang’s command, the hundred elite members of the Hunting Team who had just come over were immediately exhilarated. Everyone instantly donned their armor, prepared their bows, checked their weapons and equipment, and prepared to head out of the cave.

”Fan Kui, you stay here with your men, be cautious and make sure not to let others discover this cave. When I return, I’ll give you the secret signal.”

”Yes, my lord!”

In no time, seeing that everyone was ready, Lu Yang gave Fan Kui a final instruction, then led the way out of the cave first, followed closely by Zhao Hu and over a hundred others who jumped out immediately.

”What kind of tree is this, purple under the icicles?”

”Look over there, there are so many green fruits on the tree, haven’t seen these in Xia City, right?”

”Look at that grassland to the south, is it glowing?”

”On that tree over there, do you see it? What kind of Cold Beast is that with the sharp mouth and monkey-like features?”

”We’ve hit the jackpot, really hit the jackpot, so many new species.”

......

Once they jumped out of the cave and got a clear view of the outside world, everyone’s expression turned excited, but fortunately, they remembered Lu Yang’s earlier exhortation. Though their emotions were excited, they spoke in hushed tones, merely whispering among themselves.

Zhao Hu, Zhu Shun, and Wang Tao were also unable to contain their excitement at this moment, turning to look at Lu Yang, simply waiting for his command to start exploring everywhere.
