Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 869: Chapter 334: Hanqiong’s Seven Divisions, Moao Mountain, Hearing Beishuo Again (Part 2)

Quite a few Cold Resistance Level individuals are eyeing their positions. Even if Lu Yang’s words are a bit exaggerated, it is still very likely that Hanqiong’s control of the Seven Departments will be repealed, with headquarters replacing them.

”I’ve already asked someone in Xia City to inquire about it. The reason the profit creation value of Wuyuan sharply increased in June is because Xu Shouzheng led people eastward, along the north bank of the Xing River, and opened up a new resource point, apparently called Songyang Ridge!”

Lin Fan from the Logging Department was the first to speak, sharing what he had learned about Wuyuan’s situation.

It was obvious Lin Fan was not the only one probing into Wuyuan’s situation, as He Xing from the Artisan Department immediately nodded at his words and added, ”It’s called Songyang Ridge. I’ve heard that not only was a new Cold Beast species, the Snow Ridge Fox, discovered, but a dozen or so unfamiliar plant species, including the Golden Pinecone, White Jade Hazelnut, and Blue Mulberry Tree, have been identified. Several of these can be used for alchemy and have even alarmed the Minister.”

Upon hearing their words, Lu Yang’s brow furrowed immediately.

The situation in Wuyuan wasn’t exactly a secret; he was well-informed. The implication in Lin Fan and He Xing’s words was clear—they were urging him to open up a new resource point like Xu Ning.

Currently, Hanqiong only has one resource point, which is the branch of Long Mountain to the north. This branch spans just over thirty kilometers north to south. For the past eight months, he and Zhao Hu, along with two Advanced Hunting Teams, have already thoroughly explored it. Now, the Hunting Teams are going up the mountain to seek prey along the western mountain body.

Opening a new resource point can not only uncover new materials and species but also attract more hunting teams from Xia City. It’s undoubtedly the best way to enhance Hanqiong’s Profit Creation Value.

But while this makes sense in theory, if it were so easy to accomplish, would he have waited until now?

Zhao Hu could not help but speak out in anger at this point:

”That kid named Han Feng really doesn’t know how to be human. Last year he ran off with his men, and still, he collapsed all the mountain tunnels. We’ve wasted so much time. If it weren’t for that, we’d already have followed the tunnel to the top of Twin Dragon Mountain. Why do we have to guard a single branch of Long Mountain until now!”

Everyone slightly nodded upon hearing this, their expressions filled with gloom.

Lu Yang was the most upset. Thinking of Han Feng filled him with anger.

With Hanqiong’s resource attributes, there was no need to set governance by the Seven Departments here. After all, there was only a branch of Long Mountain here. It should have been enough to appoint a Defense Envoy and station a dozen or so hunting teams.

The decision to establish the Seven Departments in Hanqiong was personally made by Xia Hong.

The reason was the secret passage found under the main building in Hanqiong last year.

”Since Han Feng dared to escape with more than a thousand people through the secret passage, it proves that it must lead to some safe location. After you take up office in Hanqiong, focus on exploring this passage and see if you can follow it to find the thousand people with Han Feng. It would be even better if you find other new camps!”

This was the instruction Xia Hong gave when Lu Yang took up office in Hanqiong earlier this year.

Upon taking office, Lu Yang immediately organized people to explore the secret passage.

The secret passage under the main building led eastward and directly into the mountain body of Twin Dragon Mountain.

Everything was going well until Lu Yang and his people ventured nearly ten kilometers inward only to find that the path ahead was blocked.

To be precise, the tunnel had been intentionally collapsed.

It didn’t take much to figure out this was undoubtedly Han Feng’s doing!

Han Feng was clearly worried that the Great Xia would follow the passage, and with his Cold Resistance Level cultivation, it was easy for him to collapse the underground passage.

He was safe, but the trouble he caused for Lu Yang and the others was enormous.

That was, after all, a tunnel leading upward and into the mountain body of Twin Dragon Mountain, with an inherently high difficulty in excavation.

Although it’s generally certain that the tunnel leads to the top of Twin Dragon Mountain, Xia Hong had issued a strict order not to climb Twin Dragon Mountain without permission. So, they had no other option but to clear that passage out.

They’ve been clearing it for over six months since February, and it still hasn’t been sorted out. It’s not just Zhao Hu and others who are frustrated; even Lu Yang himself is upset.

”Lord He, how is the progress on the secret passage?”

The task of excavating the tunnel naturally fell to the Artisan Department.

He Xing, who was in charge of good construction in the Artisan Department, heard Lu Dong’s inquiry and answered with a wry smile: ”I personally oversaw it for a time, but by the end of June, we had dug over twenty kilometers forward and still couldn’t see the end. I was getting frustrated, so I turned it over to Fan Kui. I haven’t inquired about it for more than a month, but I can summon him to update us on the situation!”

Fan Kui was one of He Xing’s subordinates, serving as the Deputy Good Constructor in the Artisan Department of Hanqiong.

Lu Dong nodded, being aware of the progress by the end of June.

”Hurry up and call him for an update. If that’s not enough, then send more people. We must...”

”Lord, good news, very good news!”

Lu Dong’s words were suddenly interrupted by a burst of joyous shouting from outside the door.

He and the six others in the hall immediately looked up toward the door.

”It’s Xiao Yuan’s voice. Did he return from Xia City so quickly?”

”It’s just nightfall, and the escort team hasn’t returned. He must have come back early.”

”What is the good news that makes him so happy?”

...

The person who came was Xiao Yuan, Deputy Martial of the Camp Supply Department, and everyone recognized his voice at once.

In all the outposts of the Great Xia, the day they submit their materials to Xia City is the fifth of every month. In Hanqiong, it’s Xiao Yuan who is responsible.

At this moment, all seven were curious about what was making Xiao Yuan so cheerful.

Xiao Yuan entered, still wearing a broad smile, saluted everyone slightly, and then said with a grin, ”Lately, Xia City has had all kinds of happy news. The lady has given birth to a pair of twins, the First Prince Xia Yuyao and the Second Prince Xia Yusheng; the Minister’s second wife, Xiao Yu, also gave birth to a daughter named Xia Yuning; and Chen Ying has found a silver mine on the mountain’s north slope. The mine contains just over two thousand Rodents. Everyone in Xia City is saying it’s a congratulatory gift from the heavens for the birth of the two princes.”
