Chapter 85: Chapter 83: Enlightenment! Soldier Zen!

In Tang Ruobing’s exclusive training room

Ye Mingqiu sat cross-legged in the center, took out the Blood Spear from his storage space, laid it across his legs, placed his hands on both sides of the spear body, and closed his eyes to meditate.

This is the most basic Soldier Zen, sensing the connection between the weapon and oneself, treating the weapon as an extension of the body, understanding and mastering it more deeply, and through meditation, cleansing the mind to quiet the restless heart.

Appropriate Soldier Zen can accelerate specialty comprehension, familiarize oneself with the weapon, enhance combat power, and purify the mind.

Although the Blood Spear has the trait of ”Spiritual Erosion,” this trait only triggers during combat and does not negatively affect Ye Mingqiu when practicing Soldier Zen in non-combat states.

Moreover, the Blood Spear, which has an Artifact Spirit, is more sentient than ordinary weapons, possessing its own will.

The blood-red crystalline patterns spread from the spear body of the Blood Spear to Ye Mingqiu’s hands. The crimson patterns gradually illuminate and dim with Ye Mingqiu’s breath, making it easier for him to feel the sensation of merging with the weapon and entering a higher level of Soldier Zen.

”This weapon... has an Artifact Spirit?”

Tang Ruobing looked at the Blood Spear actively accommodating Ye Mingqiu’s Soldier Zen, feeling a tremor in her heart.

She, a Level 8 Mage, even her Magic Staff doesn’t have an Artifact Spirit, nor would it actively respond while she practices Soldier Zen. Suddenly, her Dark Gold Level Magic Staff feels less appealing.

Growth-oriented equipment doesn’t necessarily have an Artifact Spirit, but equipment with an Artifact Spirit certainly has growth potential. Although the Blood Spear is now only at the Silver Level, it could well advance to Gold, Dark Gold, or even higher in the future.

[Hint: You have comprehended the skill - Soldier Zen]

Soldier Zen (Active/Passive)

Tier: ★

Active Effect: After entering a Soldier Zen state with the primary weapon, you can quickly familiarize yourself with the weapon, treating it as part of your body for practice, improving specialty efficiency in combat using this weapon.

Current Primary Weapon: [Blood Spear]

Passive Effect: Bind the primary weapon, gain 10% enlightenment bonus during practice with it, and cleanse the mind and will.

So this is Soldier Zen...

Ye Mingqiu felt his spirit gradually become lighter, as if he was slowly shedding shackles. His sensitivity to the world around him decreased, and fatigue crept in, but he felt utterly at ease, as if the whole world had grown more beautiful.

Previously, was I always under such heavy pressure? It was quite dangerous...

If she hadn’t keenly noticed and taught me how to practice Soldier Zen, the next time I enter the Spirit Realm, my condition might deteriorate further, right?

Ye Mingqiu turned around, looked at Tang Ruobing behind him, with an apologetic look, and softly said, ”Sorry.”

”Hmph!”

Tang Ruobing snorted lightly and said, ”Sit there, don’t move, let me lean for a while.”

In the training room, the two leaned back to back, Tang Ruobing, as usual, kept her head down reading and didn’t let this interrupt her reading pace, while Ye Mingqiu at ease once again closed his eyes, continuing to enter Soldier Zen for practice.

...

After school, at the school gate

Chen Ran leaned against a tree, staring at people leaving the school, his gaze unfocused, but soon he spotted a familiar young man in the crowd.

Hey! Found him!

”Ye Mingqiu, come over, look this way!” Chen Ran waved and shouted loudly.

”Hmm?”

Ye Mingqiu looked towards the source of the sound, spotting his old desk mate Chen Ran, and returned the bright smile, waving in response, walking towards the tree where Chen Ran stood.

”Hey buddy, what’s up with you? I couldn’t find you anywhere in school this afternoon, not in class, not in the store, not in the clinic, and not even your exclusive training room! Where were you?” Chen Ran sighed and complained.

”I was in the exclusive training room.” Ye Mingqiu answered matter-of-factly.

”Kidding? No way, I went to your exclusive training room several times and didn’t see you once.” Chen Ran said confidently.

”Not there?”

Ye Mingqiu was momentarily stunned, quickly realizing that he had been hanging out in Tang Ruobing’s exclusive training room all week, subconsciously treating it like his own.

As for his own training room, he probably hadn’t visited it even once?

”Cough, cough, next time you can find me in Tang Ruobing’s exclusive training room.” Ye Mingqiu said, slightly awkwardly.

”Is that okay?”

Chen Ran asked bewilderedly, worried he might interrupt something by knocking. After all, it’s not normal for someone to frequent another’s exclusive training room as if it were their own home.

Meanwhile, he estimated the time spent and thought to himself: His combat power is truly strong!

”What are you thinking? We’re just studying magic together.” Ye Mingqiu explained.

”Tch, studying magic! I’m your desk mate; don’t I know you? You can’t even pass the general course, yet want to study magic? Do you know how much there is to learn in the Magic System?” Chen Ran retorted without hesitation.

”Look.”

Ye Mingqiu raised his hand to draw Chen Ran’s attention, but the latter looked on casually, perplexed at what he was going to do next.

In the next moment, the fluctuations of a Spiritual Power Technique gathered in his palm, and a bright red flame kindled, its shape reflecting in Chen Ran’s eyes, showing disbelief on his face.

”Damn!”

Chen Ran stepped back instinctively, looked at Ye Mingqiu, then at the flame in his hand, trying hard to calm himself, saying: ”Don’t trick me. Xiaoguang told me, universal techniques aren’t hard to learn; they can be used to fool people, but they’re practically useless.”

”Oh.”

Ye Mingqiu replied, and the flame in his hand quickly expanded, transforming into the shape of a hand within his palm, which then moved like it had a life of its own, raising a middle finger towards Chen Ran.

”Holy shit!”

Chen Ran couldn’t hold it anymore; this definitely wasn’t a universal technique, it was an advanced technique, a Mage’s emblem.

Bud, really?

Didn’t we say we’d just slack together, but here you quietly learn the Magic System? Bud, we’re heart to heart, and you’re playing games with me? Advanced skill requires a foundation of knowledge and practical experience, it can’t be mastered in a short time; surely Ye Mingqiu has been practicing for countless times before.

”Are you planning to switch to the Magic System? Aren’t you worried the school will make you pay a breach of contract penalty? Aren’t you supposed to be in the support system for the college entrance preparation team?” Chen Ran asked with concern.

”I’m in the support system; I’m just learning about the Magic System to achieve better results during the Spirit Realm trials. Not knowing any skills, like Xia Qingxue’s strengthened elite profession, is already the ceiling, and I want to see a higher world.” Ye Mingqiu replied with a smile.

”A higher...world? So, your professional level....” Chen Ran’s expression became increasingly amazed.

Ye Mingqiu just continued to smile brightly.
