My Talent Panel Can Add Points

Chapter 61: Chapter 59: The Scent of Poverty

Broken Ice Sugar: Meeting at four in the afternoon.

Ye Mingqiu: Got it.

...

He glanced at the time, a little past three. It was a good time to head to the school for the meeting and buy a pair of headphones from the store by the school. This would make it convenient to learn the principles of magic at any time.

Under normal circumstances, Spiritualists at his stage are usually practicing their specialties like mad, using skills frequently to brush up on proficiency and level up, thereby increasing their strength.

But Ye Mingqiu was different. He believed that practicing specialties in a comfortable environment was highly inefficient, and honing techniques on the battlefield was the best way, and it sped up improvement.

Training specialties in a comfortable place is just wasting time!

As for the levels of professional skills and universal skills, there was no need to practice them because he could simply use Spiritual Points to directly bring them up to Level 3, reaching the current level limit for spiritual energy upgrade with little gain from further enlightenment.

Therefore, Ye Mingqiu set for himself a simple learning objective.

Magic Comprehension and Gun Mastery

These were what he should focus on learning during this period.

If he wanted to learn magic, practicality must be the core. He should learn some practical magic first, like starting with a Lighting Skill... He didn’t have a Magic Staff, but it wasn’t a big issue. The Blood Spear could be used as a simple disguise since a spear and a staff look quite similar, and the Blood Spear itself has an Artifact Spirit that can easily change its form.

Should be fine, right?

Even though the Blood Spear is a melee weapon, it actually contains strong Bloodline Energy inside, which can enhance Blood Magic and Healing Magic to a certain extent, but this enhancement can only be enjoyed when recognized by the Artifact Spirit.

It’s like drawing Blood Energy from a Red Hermit in battle to enhance Life, an ability not written on the Spirit Realm Interface Panel but one that the Blood Spear possesses.

That is the ability of the Artifact Spirit

It’s just...

The Blood Spear comes with Spiritual Erosion. If used to release a Healing Skill... Might it also carry a Spiritual Erosion effect? It seems quite possible....

...

Afternoon, 3:40 PM

Ruobing Tang’s exclusive training room

Ye Mingqiu pushed the door open and looked around to see Ruobing Tang sitting cross-legged in meditation.

Seeing this, his heart rippled slightly, thinking silently: Meditation, it’s meditation! I am just learning the theory and trying some practical applications now, I haven’t learned the Meditation Method yet. Would this reduce the efficiency of getting stronger?

On the other side, noticing someone entering, Ruobing Tang slowly stopped her meditation and quietly glanced sideways.

It’s this guy...

She gently bit her lip, took a few deep breaths, and finally decided to speak up:

”C-could you return some Spiritual Points to me?”

”Huh?”

Ye Mingqiu was a bit stunned.

Isn’t that tone a bit too weak? It’s like she’s borrowing Spiritual Points from me? Clearly, I’m the one who owes Spiritual Points, right?

Does this mean...

The one who owes Spiritual Points is the boss?

But he quickly understood, estimating that Ruobing Tang was considering that he had just become a Spiritualist not too long ago, with not many Spiritual Points available and having much to spend on, hence she felt embarrassed to ask for repayment.

If that’s the case, then her situation must be a bit pressing right now, otherwise, with her personality, she would definitely not have brought this up to me.

”How much do you need?” Ye Mingqiu asked.

”200, 200 Spiritual Points would be enough.”

”200?”

Ye Mingqiu was stunned, not because the number was too large, but because it was too small. He couldn’t help but ask, ”With that few Spiritual Points, wouldn’t selling some miscellaneous goods easily cover it?”

”Sold out.... all sold out.”

Ruobing Tang answered in a low voice, her lowered eyes subtly lifting. Sensing Ye Mingqiu’s peculiar gaze, she quickly explained, ”Don’t overthink it—I’ve just spent a lot on boosting my strength recently, and it just so happens that I don’t have any Spiritual Points on hand! Just this once! It won’t happen again in the future!”

”Alright, I’ll transfer it to you.”

[Prompt: You have initiated a transfer of 200 Spiritual Points]

[Broken Star has received it]

Seeing the Spiritual Points increase in her balance, Ruobing Tang’s expression relaxed significantly. She turned her head, saying seriously, ”Don’t tell anyone about this.”

”Sure.”

Ye Mingqiu nodded in response.

For some unknown reason, he felt as though he smelled a familiar scent from Ruobing Tang, a scent.... of poverty. She became poor, yet stronger.

”I have a question about magic I want to ask you.”

”Go ahead.”

”When I cast magic, I find that each spell has a limit. Once the Spiritual Energy injected surpasses the limit, the strength can no longer increase.... Yet in reality, many Mages can bring out extremely powerful effects with Basic Magic. How on earth do they do it?” Ye Mingqiu asked, puzzled.

”A bottleneck?”

Ruobing Tang frowned, asking, ”Show me by casting a Fireball Skill.”

Ye Mingqiu extended his hand, closed his eyes, felt the Spiritual Energy with his heart, guided it to his palm, and in his imagination constructed a specific technique template for the energy, converting it into Fire Attribute, shaping it into the form of a fireball, which blazed in his palm.

Then he opened his eyes, infused more Spiritual Energy into the Fireball Skill, causing the fireball’s size to grow, its color to deepen, and its temperature to rise.

But soon after, the color and size of the Fireball Skill stopped changing, merely causing some fire elements to overflow around Ye Mingqiu’s palm, turning into little sparks falling to the ground.

”This is the limit of the basic technique. To surpass the limit, you must improve the technique. Basic techniques are mostly universal techniques, simple and convenient to learn, but their downside is the low upper limit, requiring continuous in-depth research to break through.”

Ruobing Tang paused, looking at Ye Mingqiu with a strange gaze, and asked: ”That can’t be right, although basic techniques indeed have a limit, at the very least you should notice it when using over a hundred Spiritual Energy. Does it mean.... your Spiritual Power Limit has already exceeded 100?”

”Just lucky,”

Ye Mingqiu replied.

Ruobing Tang frowned but didn’t inquire further, continuing: ”Magics are divided into two types of techniques: one is the universal technique, easy to learn but with limited strength; the other is advanced techniques, using a combination of knowledge to create different techniques in different situations, choosing the optimal solution for each case.”

”If you want to continue learning magic, I suggest starting with universal techniques. Advanced techniques are more challenging, less suitable for early learning.... What magic do you want to learn? I can help you find universal techniques.”

”What else but magic—I am from the Support System and certainly need to prioritize learning Healing and Amplification magic, or perhaps Functional Skills.” Ye Mingqiu naturally replied.

Of course, being a part of the Support System is secondary; more importantly, his combat style wasn’t about primarily dealing damage through magic, because that would be too wasteful of Mana for him, better to maintain enough Mana to sustain the 30% boost in power and agility from [Spiritual Power - Fullness].

This way, the most suitable magics for him to learn would be amplification magics, as well as functional magics. Amplification magics could add buffs to improve combat power, and functional magics could provide situational support, such as casting a Lighting Skill when fighting in the dark.
