Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Being Interviewed Again

The reporter who had previously interviewed Chloe York came to the school again. After all, she remembered the bet Chloe had made with her homeroom teacher.

A student who had only scored one point on the first mock exam had made a bold declaration that she would score fifty on the second. Whether she succeeded or failed, it was a story. The reporter was here to see if Chloe York had won or lost.

”An interview?” Jordan Walton was confused when he heard the reporter. ’Hasn’t the last interview already concluded? Why another one? Could it be about Chloe York saving someone on the sports field?’

But that happened a while ago! Isn’t it a bit too late to be doing an interview now?

”That’s right!”

”It’s been so long since she saved that female student on the field. There isn’t much point in reporting on it now, is there?” Jordan Walton asked. He had actually considered calling a reporter about it at the time, but then he remembered Chloe York admitting on camera that she’d scored one point on the first mock exam.

That had caused a huge uproar online at the time. Everyone was shocked that a high school senior could score just one point on a mock exam. Wasn’t that just saying the teaching standards at their school were poor?

So, after much consideration, he decided not to say anything. He figured he would wait for the second mock exam results to see if Chloe York had managed to score the fifty points she’d bet on. If she did, he could tell the reporters. If not, he’d just let it be and say nothing.

’Anyway, the student council will probably post about it online,’ he thought.

”Saved a female student on the field?” the reporter repeated in a surprised tone. There was a story like that? They had no idea, or they would have been here ages ago! This was another great news story!

Saving people one after another, and she’s a high school senior on top of that—what a huge story!

”Yes. Weren’t you here for that?” Jordan Walton asked, noticing the surprise in the reporter’s voice.

The reporter and cameraman exchanged a look, seeing the excitement in each other’s eyes. What an unexpected and pleasant surprise!

”Principal, could you tell us in detail about how Chloe York saved someone on the field?”

”That day, a female student fainted in the grass during gym class. No one noticed, but Chloe York found her, princess-carried her, and took her to the infirmary!”

”A lot of students took pictures at the time. They were spreading everywhere. It caused quite a stir.”

”Is that so? Principal, do you happen to have any of the photos?”

”Photos? The students should have them. We, as the school’s principal and teachers, don’t.”

”Understood. Can we go and interview Chloe York now?”

”That’s a decision Chloe York will have to make herself. Besides, it’s still class time. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until class is over to find her.”

”Okay, thank you, Principal!” After finding out the location of Class 6 of the senior year, the reporter and cameraman headed off to find Chloe York.

Because of the previous incident on the main sports field, the students now recognized the reporters. Seeing the reporter and cameraman appear on campus again, they started discussing it excitedly.

”The reporters are back! Don’t tell me they’re looking for Chloe York again!”

”Last time the reporters interviewed Chloe York, she said she only got one point on the first mock exam. They must be here to see what she scored this time.”

”Let’s go take a look! It’s the press! If we get caught on camera, we could be on TV or online.”

”Yeah, yeah, let’s go! I saw some students get in the shot during the last interview.”

Before they knew it, a crowd of students had gathered behind the reporter, all eager to watch the show.

Thanks to the students, the reporter and cameraman easily found their way to the door of Class 6 of the senior year.

”Hello there. Could you ask Chloe York to come out?” the reporter asked, stopping a student who was just walking out of the classroom.

”Sure, sure! I’ll go get her for you right now.” The student, recognizing the reporter, excitedly went back inside to call for her.

”Chloe, the reporters are here for you! They want you to come out for an interview.”

The male student’s shout caught the attention of the entire class.

Not expecting reporters to come again, Chloe York stood up and walked out. ’It never crossed my mind to refuse an interview. Of course I’ll do it. If I have the ability to become famous, why shouldn’t I?’

’I need to let everyone know—even people who don’t know me—that Chloe York is a capable, kind, and intelligent girl, not the tragic character in the book who ends up forgotten by everyone.’

Brooke York nearly crumpled the test paper in her hand. ’On what grounds? How can she still get so much attention after losing her status as the York Family’s daughter?’

’And me? All I have is the ”real daughter” title that I took back. Nothing else.’

”Chloe, we meet again!” the reporter greeted her warmly upon seeing her.

Recognizing the reporter from the sports field incident, Chloe York replied politely, ”Hello!”

”Hello! You’re really amazing, you know? I heard you scored over eighty points in every subject on the second mock exam?”

”I’m not sure about that yet; I haven’t seen the papers.” Although the news had spread throughout the school, the papers hadn’t been handed back yet, so she wasn’t going to confirm anything rashly.

”I see!” The reporter was surprised that Chloe York wasn’t getting carried away at all. Kids like that were rare these days.

”Yes.”

”Well, that’s alright. I heard the teachers are all saying it, and all the students in your school know about it too!”

Chloe York didn’t know what to say to that, so she didn’t answer.

”Oh, by the way, I also heard that you saved a female student on the school’s sports field a while ago?”

”Yes.”

”Wow, I didn’t realize you were so helpful and kind, Chloe! A lot of students saw you princess-carry that girl and were totally captivated. They even took pictures. Did you ever think that incident would make you famous?”

”I didn’t think about that. At the time, I just saw she had fainted and wanted to get her to the infirmary as quickly as possible.”

”I see. Chloe, you’re a real hidden gem.”

The reporter asked Chloe York a few more questions about her studies before concluding the interview.

Within half an hour, news of Chloe York’s bet with her homeroom teacher—going from one point per subject on the first mock exam to over eighty—was all over the internet.

At the same time, the story of her rescue was also posted online again.

This girl is so amazing and inspirational! To go through the whole ”fake daughter” thing, falling from a rich young lady to an imposter, and still manage to develop so steadily—that’s really something!

She’s so kind, too! She saved a child from being abducted by human traffickers!

A girl this good is way more amazing than some rich heiress, okay? Who cares about all that real vs. fake daughter stuff? In our hearts, Chloe York is the true, noble young lady.

What kind of teacher is that, with no professional ethics? She promised to apologize in front of the entire school. Did she do it? Film it and show us!

Brooke York scrolled through her phone, reading the online comments, and grew more and more furious. Not only had Chloe York won the bet, but she was also becoming increasingly famous online.
