Heroine Creation: All My Summons Are Custom Made

Chapter 65: Oddly Intimate, Master [Bonus Chapter]

”Match my rhythm, Master!” Astensia’s voice rang out, clear and commanding over the chorus of forty snarling Mountain Wolves. ”Do not overextend! Let them crash against our defense like water against a cliff!”

Lancet wished she didn’t have to be so poetic, but he was ready regardless. He planted his feet, gripping the hilt of his greatsword. ”Got it!”

The swarm descended like a grey avalanche. But with Astensia by his side, Lancet was feeling very courageous.

A wolf lunged for his left flank. Before he could even turn his blade to parry, Astensia’s golden greatsword flashed past his shoulder, cleanly severing the beast’s head.

”Step in, Master!” she cried.

Lancet quickly stepped into the opening she had just created, driving his heavy blade forward to impale a second wolf mid-leap. He twisted the hilt, kicking the beast off his sword, and immediately pivoted.

”Wonderfully done, Master!” Astensia stepped back precisely as he stepped forward, their shoulders brushing.

They continued like this, cleaving down Mountain Wolf after Mountain Wolf. Astensia acted as the hammer, her golden blade creating space each time she slaughtered ten Wolves for Lancet to swoop in and kill three.

Within five minutes, the final wolf dissipated into polygons.

Lancet dropped to one knee, using his sword as a crutch, chest heaving. Astensia stood beside him, her breathing perfectly even, not a single drop of sweat on her brow.

”That was incredibly done, Master Lancet,” she praised, a warm smile on her lips. ”Your instincts are sharp. You just need the muscle memory to support them.”

Lancet wiped his forehead with his bandaged wrist. ”Alright. Let’s up the stakes. Simulation, upgrade opponents to Lycanthropes.”

Astensia’s forehead creased. ”Are you sure you’re ready to go again?”

Lancet nodded once. ”The bad guys won’t wait for me to catch my breath before attacking.”

Astensia smiled, agreeing with that logic after thinking it over.

Thor, still by the mountain face, watched them with a frustrated look on her face. Regardless of what she thought about this Lancet, she couldn’t help but feel a little left out.

The simulated wind howled, carrying a deeper, much more terrifying roar. From the craggy ravines, towering, bipedal figures began to emerge.

They were eight feet tall, packed with rippling, unnatural muscle, their elongated snouts dripping with digital saliva. Lycanthropes were infinitely faster and physically superior to the wolves.

Lancet stood up, raising his right hand and pointing to his index finger. Resting snugly against his skin was the dark, metallic band.

”Astensia, this is a Phantom Tag-Team Conduit Ring,” Lancet explained quickly as the Lycanthropes began to circle. ”Every kill you make feeds it Grace. For every ten kills, it stores a charge. Each charge allows me to borrow one of your specific skills.”

Astensia gazed at the ring on his finger with intrigue. ”Should we test it out?” she asked. ”Sharing my skills with you through a ring feels oddly intimate, Master.”

Lancet chuckled and she did too.

After staring into each other’s eyes, she turned to the Lycanthropes. ”Leave it to me, Master Lancet. I shall fill your ring to the brim!”

Immediately, Astensia exploded forward like a golden comet.

”Glorious Hurricane Blade!”

She yelled those words the moment she entered the middle of the swarm of beasts. She spun around with the Blessed Blade extended, and created a golden tornado that swirled across the numbers of Lycanthropes, killing every single one of them till the last fell.

Lancet looked down at the ring and saw a holographic display pop out of the orb.

[ 20 kills registered by your Summon, Astensia Valengard (Knight Class) ].

[ Astensia’s powers can be used for 2 Skills! ]

Lancet asked Astensia to teach him two of her Skills. One he especially had in mine was ⸢ Glorious Sword Projection ⸥ which he had fallen in love with when she did it against the Orc King back in the Higher Dungeon.

After Astensia explained the stance and the positioning of the blade. Lancet willed the ring to activate.

A sudden, massive surge of a new type of Grace he had never felt before flooded up his arm, wrapping around his practice sword until the steel hummed with volatile energy.

”Glorious Sword Projection!” he commanded.

From the tip of his sword, a massive, ten-foot-long golden extension of the blade erupted forward. The projection punched into the flesh of two charging Lycanthropes.

”Woah!” Lancet gasped, feeling the recoil run up his arms. The ring ticked down to one charge.

”Alright use the other one I taught you!” Astensia said, pointing to the remaining beasts.

Lancet dashed forward, his faster legs carrying him across the bedrock in a flash. He burned the final charge by yelling: ”Glorious Slash!”

A golden aura manifested around his training sword. He planted his foot and brought the sword down in a vertical arc.

A boom! sound followed the movement, and a dangerous magical blade spread out like a vertical shockwave and obliterated the last two Lycanthropes.

Silence followed after.

”Hahaha! This is amazing!” Lancet broke it with an overjoyed laugh, the thrill of the power completely intoxicating him.

He was actually wielding the power of a Class that wasn’t his. Hahaha! If he simply wanted. He could create characters with all the Classes in the world just so he could use this risk and have access to all their Skills.

How incredible!

”Bravo, Master!” Astensia cheered, clapping her gauntleted hands together. ”You’re surprisingly skilled in channeling Grace that your body isn’t yet used to!”

”Are you two quite finished playing with the dogs?”

Lancet and Astensia turned.

Thor Stormchild was walking slowly toward them from the edge of the mountain face. Her arms were no longer crossed. The Hammer of Force rested casually on her shoulder, crackling with impatient, silver-blue static.

Her face still held its haughty, prideful scowl, but there was a distinct, undeniable hunger in her eyes as she looked at the scattering of digital dust.

”I have watched you stumble through your paces long enough,” Thor said, stopping a few feet away. She looked out at the craggy ravines. ”It has been three hundred years since I last crushed a skull. I am... stiff. If this simulation of yours can manifest proper beasts, bring them out.”

Lancet looked at Astensia. Astensia nodded. Lancet grinned. ”You want a proper fight?” he asked, raising his head. ”Simulation. Maximum swarm. Mountain Wolves and Lycanthropes. Do not stop spawning until I say so.”

The entire simulated mountain range shuddered in response. From every ravine, every peak, and every shadow, red eyes began to glow.

A chorus of hundreds of blood-curdling howls echoed through the cold air. Suddenly hundreds of Mountain Wolves and Lycanthropes clawed down toward them.

Thor looked up at the crowd of monsters and a bloodthirsty smile touched the corner of her lips.

”Do not get in my way, Summoner,” Thor warned.

Then, with lightning beneath her greaves, she vaulted thirty feet into the air, soaring high above the charging frontline of Lycanthropes.

She gripped the Hammer of Force tight in her hand and raised it high. ”Judgement of Storm!”

She struck the bedrock. A blinding, cataclysmic pillar of silver-blue lightning erupted from the point of impact. The thunderclap was so loud it physically rattled Lancet’s teeth.

A massive web of high-voltage electricity tore through the ground, instantly vaporizing a dozen Lycanthropes in a blinding flash of raw destruction.

Astensia surged to the left flank, Lancet took the right. As they fought the monsters, the Phantom Ring on his finger was vibrating so violently it felt hot on his finger.

With both Astensia and Thor completely annihilating the horde, the ring was charging up every passing second.

On another note, for the first time since he entered the Academy, Lancet wasn’t hiding behind his Summon — or Summons.

He was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them. Maybe he wasn’t getting as many kills as either of them, but at least he was doing something... and it would only get better from here.
