Heroine Creation: All My Summons Are Custom Made

Chapter 63: Always Feels Like Leg Day [Bonus Chapter]

Lancet stepped toward the edge of the mountain ground. He removed his casual clothes and equipped the simulation trousers and a roll of white athletic bandages given to him by the training facility.

At that moment, the physical results of his training and the manual EXP allocation were on full display.

Lancet was no longer plain and unremarkable. He was sculpted. His chest was broader and heavily defined, tapering down into a sharp, deeply cut V-line and a tight grid of abdominal muscles.

Every movement of his arms highlighted the corded, intertwined musculature of his back and shoulders, while thick, prominent veins mapped across his forearms and hands, thrumming with raw, newly acquired vitality.

He looked lean, stronger, and entirely out of place for the usual idea of what a Summoner was.

Astensia, standing closer to the center of the mountain floor, watched Lancet mindlessly for a while. Then she turned to Thor who was a few feet away, arms cross, leaning her back against the mountain face

Realizing she had been staring at the boy’s bare torso for a few seconds too long, Thor aggressively snapped her gaze away.

She kept her head low, trying to maintain her scowl, but a furious flush of red had crept up to her pale cheeks.

Astensia smiled.

Lancet, completely focused on his task, barely even noticed the audience. He smoothly wrapped the white athletic tape meticulously around his knuckles, hands, and wrists, pulling the bindings tight.

He finished by tying a dark headband around his forehead to keep the sweat out of his eyes, then reached down and picked up his training sword.

Astensia approached him, her golden eyes scanning his newly forged physique. ”It seems our training from yesterday is already showing incredibly fast results, Master.”

Lancet casually looked down at his own chest as if just realizing the change. ”Huh. I barely noticed.”

Yeah, right. That was a complete, bare-faced lie.

Despite waking up at the crack of dawn, Lancet had spent almost twenty straight minutes posing in front of the cracked, full-length mirror in the dorm room.

He had flexed every muscle, entirely unable to believe how much stronger he looked after dumping all that EXP into Strength and Constitution.

Hiding his pride and joy, he adjusted his grip on the sword. Lancet was also wearing the Phantom Tag-Team Conduit Ring.

He hoped to charge it up today to its limit. Like with the EXP, Astensia’s kills in this simulation would likely still feed the ring’s charge. He also hoped he could eventually convince Thor to smash a few beasts too.

That way he can have both Knight and Lightning Mage Skills stored in the bank in case the situation arrived when he needed it.

Astensia, new to technology, allowed Lancet to prepare the monsters they would train with. Lancet willed the simulation into creating 4 Mountain Wolves.

The simulated wind picked up. Shadows near the craggy ravines began to contort and lengthen, solidifying into four massive, grey-furred Mountain Wolves with ugly red eyes.

”What are we training for today?” Lancet asked her.

”Well, I wanted to begin with training your left arm, but we’ll leave it for next week.”

Lancet felt a rush of relief. ’Thank God. That always feels like leg day.’

”So today I’ll be training you on how to fight against multiple opponents,” Astensia announced.

Lancet’s eyes widened. This was exactly what he needed. After relentless bullying and threats of more bullying in the future, Lancet needed to learn not just how to fight, but how to fight a group of attackers.

”This is commonly called Crowd Control,” Astensia said. ”It is an ability in combat that requires a great level of awareness, precaution, precision and rhythm.”

Lancet completely emptied his mind and his thoughts, listening with every single nerve in his ears as he absorbed what Astensia taught.

Luckily for him, he had created Astensia to be a really good combat trainer. And it showed.

Astensia explained to him that he should never let the opponents form a complete circle, and to always keep his footwork light.

She taught him to force them into a funnel, keeping them within a forty-five-degree cone in front of him.

”Let the momentum of your first strike carry through to the second target! And try to make each of their attacks not just be a threat to you but a threat to their cohort. With their numbers, it’ll almost be impossible for them not to get into each other’s way.”

She showed him an example. Astensia fought the wolves, using only her attributes — no Skills. She showed Lancet that as long as he kept moving, being light on his feet, he becomes a target that they all can’t pounce on at once.

She made the wolves make mistakes, then she punished them with her blade.

When the last wolf fell and vaporized into blue cubes, Lancet raised his head. ”Got it.”

He rose to his feet and created 4 more Mountain Wolves. Astensia stepped away to let him attempt to kill all four.

Lancet stepped into the center, settling into a low, wide stance.

Immediately, the wolves attacked from the shadows.

As expected of wolves, they attacked as a coordinated pack. The lead wolf snapped its jaws as it jumped for Lancet’s throat.

Lancet made a forward leap, using his new found Agility to execute a fast pivot that sent the wolf sailing past his shoulder.

Then he swung the practice sword high up. The blade cleaved cleanly through the beast’s simulated torso, scattering it into digital blue polygons.

”That’s great!” Astensia praised. ”Remember to keep the rest in a funnel!”

Lancet registered her advice but remained concentrated on the battle.

Using the momentum of the swing, he spun. Two wolves were already on his flank so he quickly planted his boot to adjust his weight for a brisk attack.

Balanced, Lancet drove the tip of his sword straight into the snout of the closest beast, hearing a crunch like broken biscuits. As it cried, he dragged the blade low, tearing its neck open.

Two down.

The third wolf leaped, claws extended. But Lancet’s motion wasn’t done yet.

He dragged the sword around, from down to up, raising the broad side of the blade. The wolf landed on top of the sword.

It was heavy. Lancet gritted his teeth against the weight, then shoved back with his new Strength, throwing the beast off balance before stepping in and executing a flawless downward slash, splitting it in half.

Three down.

But the adrenaline made him sloppy. The fourth wolf, having circled around his blind spot during the chaos, lunged from behind.

The massive beast slammed into Lancet’s back, its weight driving him face-first into the unforgiving bedrock.

Dust exploded into the air as Lancet hit the ground hard, the wind knocked completely from his lungs. The wolf’s jaws snapped open, diving for his neck.
