All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 398: Chapter 398: The Abused Female Lead Awakens (74)

Even if the Emperor has suspicions in his heart, he has interacted with Jing Yunzhou several times and found that he indeed has let go of the past.

Despite his son’s desire for the throne beneath him, he doesn’t mind showing a bit more concern.

Not long after the New Year, Ashui rushed in from outside and approached Qiann Yan, whispering softly, ”Commandery Princess, the Emperor is ill.”

”The illness came suddenly, and all the princes entered to serve him. They all became dutiful sons, paying respects at his side. The news is that he is not very pleased.”

Qiann Yan said calmly, ”It’s surprising he would be happy; these sons are just afraid he might die, so they stay by his side.”

”Oh, you said all the princes have entered the palace? Has Jing Xiyu gone?”

Ashui paused and said, ”He has been recuperating in the mansion for some time, reportedly unable to get out of bed.”

As the conversation reached this point, Ashui seemed to understand something as well.

The Imperial Palace, it seems, has become lively.

...

The Emperor lay on the Dragon Bed, looking at his children filling the room, seeing them shedding tears as if he were about to die, filled him with anger. He was merely sick, not dying. Why cry in front of him?

All of them were false and insincere.

As the Emperor looked at the restrained expression of Jing Yunzhou beside him, he felt a bit of affection, but he didn’t think he would be bedridden, nor did he consider choosing a Crown Prince at this time.

Anyone who mentioned this now would be a thorn in his side.

Jing Yunzhou had been waiting; he hadn’t expected the Emperor would say he was tired and wouldn’t appoint a Crown Prince, which made him somewhat angry.

Could the other party really not see over a year of companionship?

Fortunately, he had prepared two plans; the throne was something he must obtain. He had prepared extensively for this day, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity he absolutely could not miss.

”That’s enough, I’m fine, you all go back,” the Emperor waved his hand; these sons and daughters who longed for his death, he didn’t want to see them for even a moment, ”The second son stays.”

Jing Yunzhou’s lips curved slightly; his efforts over the year were not in vain, at least at this moment, the Emperor was more willing to keep him, regardless of the reason, he accepted it.

After everyone left, the Emperor chatted with Jing Yunzhou for a while and asked how a Crown Prince should be chosen.

Jing Yunzhou replied, ”Your son is naive; all the brothers are excellent, and one cannot be picked.”

”They’re excellent, yet always look forward to my death,” the Emperor cursed, then lamented, ”The Seventh Prince is quite good, but unfortunately his health is not, even after so much time, there’s no improvement.”

Jing Yunzhou’s expression changed, but finally returned to normal: ”He will recover.” Luckily, that Seventh Prince was ill, otherwise, the other party might have easily picked up the Crown Prince position.

Jing Yunzhou chatted intermittently with the Emperor while contemplating to act tonight. The old thing had completely overlooked him; he’d thought before, if the old thing passed the throne to him, he could honor him.

Since the other party’s heart didn’t recognize him as a son, he could only resort to extraordinary means.

If the Emperor left him alone, and died of illness overnight, wouldn’t he be the rightful heir?

After Wenn Qiuyu left, she hurried back to her room and reviewed the events of the past year.

After she finished sorting, she widened her eyes, and her face suddenly turned pale. She had analyzed it; Jing Yunzhou obviously plans to act recently, possibly committing regicide. If successful, Jing Yunzhou could be unparalleled.

However, doesn’t he think everything is going too smoothly?

Wenn Qiuyu was anxious.

She paced around the room, contemplating who might be pulling the strings to allow Jing Yunzhou to proceed so smoothly.

She recalled a face that was weak and pale and almost lost her voice: ”Seventh Prince?”
