All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 368: Chapter 368: The Abused Heroine Awakens (44)

After consulting Jing Lingyu, Fuh Xi and Bi Ye prepared to leave the Prince Ling Mansion, encountering Qiao Xin halfway.

Fuh Xi suddenly asked, ”Qiao Xin, is the Princess Consort in?”

”No, she went out early in the morning.”

Fuh Xi sighed in relief for some unknown reason. Her behavior today was truly odd, but she had a feeling she must go to the temple to offer prayers as soon as possible.

”Miss Fuh Xi, are you going out?”

Fuh Xi replied, ”Yes, going to offer prayers for the Prince, might be staying for a while.”

”Oh.” Qiao Xin seemed a bit disappointed; they weren’t going shopping, so she lost interest.

What’s there to enjoy about staying in the impoverished temple?

Fuh Xi got on the carriage and left the Capital City in the afternoon; the moment she was out, she relaxed completely.

”Miss, what’s wrong? It’s not even hot, yet you’re sweating profusely.”

Fuh Xi smiled wryly, not quite sure why; she just felt like she was about to live a wandering life again.

This intuition was very accurate; she couldn’t help but believe it.

”Bi Ye, why is life so hard for women in this world? All I want is to live a plain and peaceful life. Even if it means being subservient, pleasing a man is better than instability. Compared to the lives of women in the brothel, what’s the harm in pleasing one man?”

Bi Ye didn’t know how to respond; this was a difficult topic, with officials all being men, how could women not struggle?

That night, was uneasy for many.

The Emperor did not sleep at all, neither did Jing Xiyu; he was speculating what Jing Yunzhou was up to, and what was involved this time, yet had not received any information.

It seemed this matter was of great importance to Father Emperor.

At midnight, everyone at Prince Ling Mansion was imprisoned, while Jing Lingyu was brought back to the Imperial Palace.

The Emperor was momentarily speechless upon seeing the skin-full of sores Jing Lingyu; he knew Jing Lingyu had been quite ill recently, the Imperial Physician had mentioned he contracted a strange skin disease.

Who could have imagined the person with an unclear visage in front of him was Jing Lingyu.

Jing Lingyu was still stunned when Jing Yunzhou stormed into the room with people and grabbed him, opening his secret chamber. Once everything was found, he knew it was over.

Facing the Emperor, he knelt down to beg for mercy.

Being alive is better than anything; he didn’t want to die.

Seeing Jing Lingyu like this, even the Emperor felt there was no point in killing him; he wasn’t planning to make this matter public and preferred to handle it privately.

Thus, he didn’t intend to spare those at Prince Ling Mansion, as they were just some insignificant servants.

Releasing these people could lead to rumors circulating.

For the stability of Great Zhou, he could only sacrifice those people.

”Take him away and keep him imprisoned forever,” the Emperor waved his hand, feeling that even looking at Jing Lingyu was an eyesore, ”Tomorrow, announce that Prince Ling has contracted smallpox and has been sent to the traveling palace for recuperation.”

Once thought Jing Lingyu resembled him greatly, now he loathed Jing Lingyu just as much.

Consort Qin, that woman he hated to the bone, had caused him such harm.

Jing Lingyu wanted to shout, but his mouth was stuffed, pleading at the Emperor and Jing Yunzhou, but they wouldn’t respond.

”Crown Prince, you know how to deal with the people in the Heavenly Prison, right?”

Jing Yunzhou was startled; did it mean to kill them all?

Facing the Emperor’s gaze, he immediately steeled himself, ”Yes, Father, I will handle it immediately.”

”If General Lin’s child’s arranged marriage comes up, bring her into the palace, I will provide an explanation,” the Emperor said.

Jing Yunzhou’s legs trembled, ”Yes, Father, I understand.”

Morning dawned.

Qiann Yan stopped practicing martial arts; the Emperor must have handled the matter overnight. However, Ashui probably had also almost exposed the conspiracy from years ago involving Jing Lingyu and Consort Qin.

Ashui had later taken quite a lot from Jing Lingyu’s secret chamber.

Soon enough, the entire Capital City would be bustling with activity.
