Chapter 6248: Unchanged Operation

Stepping out of the shack, he continued to keep an eye on Liu Susu’s room.

He was clearly getting impatient.

This made Xiang Yang grind his teeth in hatred.

“Just wait, tomorrow will be your death day!”

Early the next morning.

As soon as the porters started their work, Yang Madman got ready and prepared to leave the dock with Liu Susu.

Of course, he didn’t mention why they were going to Qingshan Town this time.

He simply said that Master Liu had instructed them to go purchase some supplies.

Liu Susu, being simple-minded, believed him.

Before leaving, she said goodbye to Xiang Yang and advised Hu San to treat him better.

Jian Wushuang, standing nearby, nudged Xiang Yang with his elbow, teasing, “That girl is quite fond of you!”

“Well, she was trained by none other than me!” Xiang Yang boasted.

Not long after, Master Liu also came downstairs.

He called out to Yang Madman.

“Xiao Yang, no need to rush off. News came from the town last night; the Liu family’s commercial ship will arrive here today. You and Susu can take the carriage back, save you from walking!” Coming downstairs, he continued, “I don’t know what the owner is thinking, insisting that the third young master also guard this dock. I might have to go to Qingshan Town myself; we can go together then!”

Hearing this, Yang Madman’s face immediately darkened.

With this change, his trip would be less enjoyable.

Moreover, if Master Liu went back to Qingshan Town and didn’t return, Liu Susu, the prize within his grasp, might slip away.

Faced with this sudden change, Jian Wushuang and Xiang Yang were a bit caught off guard.

But for now, they could only take things one step at a time.

Because Liu Susu was about to leave soon.

With no one to protect Xiang Yang this time.

He could only follow Jian Wushuang to carry sacks.

By the time the sun was high in the sky.

Master Liu and the others showed no signs of leaving.

At this point, Hu San approached them and whispered, “Master Liu is waiting for the Liu family’s young master’s commercial ship, which might not arrive until noon!”

“Plans have changed, but the action remains the same!”

After saying this, the three of them went about their work.

During these days, Xiang Yang’s body had recovered quite well; he no longer panted when carrying sacks.

By noon.

A warship, larger than the other commercial ships, arrived from the sea, and everyone stopped their work.

Master Liu ordered everyone to line up properly.

To welcome the third young master of the Liu family.

The warship docked.

Master Liu stood at the front of the dock with Yang Madman and Liu Susu.

“Young Master Liu!”

At this moment, Master Liu was extremely humble, completely different from the dock’s tyrant.

On the deck of the warship, a young man with a tall figure dressed in standard armor slowly walked down the gangplank.

Behind him, dozens of soldiers disembarked as well.

These people carried an aura of sternness.

Clearly, they had come straight from the battlefield.

Hu San whispered a brief introduction from the side, “This is the third young master of the dock owner’s family and also a colonel in Jiang Country. He commands two thousand soldiers in Yongcheng. The Liu family can dominate Qingshan Town because of this third young master, so Boss Liu is very polite to him!”

“Yongcheng!” Jian Wushuang frowned. He hadn’t escaped yet.

Why had the guard of Yongcheng started to flee?

He looked menacing but turned out to be a coward.

“Alright, don’t worry about these people. Let’s focus on ourselves. Once Boss Liu leaves the dock, we’ll slip away too!”

“Understood!” Hu San nodded.

This time, he had truly made up his mind.

On the other side, Boss Liu brought the third young master of the Liu family into the small building, vacating Liu Susu’s room to specially entertain him.

During the banquet, Liu Susu and Yang Madman were both present.

The third young master of the Liu family, who appeared proper, lost his facade at the wine table.

He was just a wine sack and rice bag.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have fled from Yongcheng.

Given the current situation, the Yue Country was about to attack Yongcheng.

Throughout the banquet, Young Master Liu kept staring at Liu Susu.

His intentions were so obvious that Boss Liu and Yang Madman both understood what he meant.

But Liu Susu was very resistant.

She kept finding excuses to leave, but Boss Liu stopped her each time.

Hu San frowned every time he delivered wine.

By the afternoon, Boss Liu showed no signs of leaving.

According to Hu San, this time, Young Master Liu came here to leave an escape route for some noble in Yongcheng.

Although Jian Wushuang hadn’t seen the map of their location, he could deduce it.

Jiang Country was near the sea.

Among the six prefectures under its jurisdiction, four were close to the coastline.

Once the Yue Country fully attacked, Jiang Country would only have one escape route, which was to flee toward the sea.

On the other side of the sea, there was also a continent.

In fact, the two continents were connected.

This was considered an inland sea, with only one outlet leading to the vast ocean.

On the other side of the sea, there was another dynasty, which was much stronger than Jiang Country and even Yue Country.

These nobles could enjoy themselves wherever they fled, provided they could escape and carry enough wealth with them.

Thus, Young Master Liu had come.

He brought news good for Boss Liu but bad for Jiang Country.

The Yue Country would soon reach Binhai Prefecture.

At that time, it would likely flee without a fight.

Yongcheng wouldn’t even attempt to defend, and small towns like Qingshan Town without stationed troops would naturally be doomed.

So, the properties Boss Liu wanted to set up in Qingshan Town would become worthless.

The Liu family would escape by then.

And they were Boss Liu’s backing.

Naturally, he had to follow his backers.

After learning this, he desperately fawned over the third young master of the Liu family.

Yang Madman, seeing the situation, immediately distanced himself from Liu Susu.

Knowing that Young Master Liu was interested in Liu Susu, he even deliberately pushed her towards him at the wine table.

This angered Boss Liu.

If someone were to give her away, it should be him, not Yang Madman, that lackey.

But there was nothing he could do; Yang Madman was originally from the Liu family, which was why he arranged Liu Susu to marry him.

But now, with a new, more powerful backer, he naturally had to switch sides.

Both men had the same idea but both wanted that leverage!

Unlike their rivalry, Young Master Liu enjoyed the situation.

He ate and drank heartily.

However, Hu San, squatting outside the door, had an exceptionally cold gaze.

He never expected Boss Liu to be so heartless and unfeeling towards his adopted daughter.

Boss Liu was a traveling bodyguard in his early years.

But after suffering an internal injury, he settled in Qingshan Town.

He had picked up both him and Liu Susu from the street.

Later, for unknown reasons, he became attached to the Liu family and became even colder, especially after Yang Madman arrived.

But to repay his kindness, he always obeyed Boss Liu.

This time, for Liu Susu, he chose to resist.

Listening to the noise inside the room, he stood up and walked towards the shack where Jian Wushuang and Xiang Yang were.

“It’s time to act. Those soldiers are almost drunk!”

“Now?” Xiang Yang hesitated.

Jian Wushuang, however, remained calm. He had done this sort of thing many times and naturally wouldn’t be nervous.
