The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: I’m Offering You Some Credit, Do You Want It?

”Ah... Th-this... My place... my place...”

Shen Mengyi’s face flushed red in an instant, and she could barely get her words out.

This was the first time she had let a boy walk her home.

And now, Lin Yi’s words had left her at a complete loss.

Seeing how nervous she looked,

Lin Yi smiled. ”Just kidding. Go on upstairs. Let me know when you’re home!”

”Ah... Mm, okay!”

Shen Mengyi managed to get out three words.

But those three words each represented a different emotion.

With that, she turned and walked into the building’s hallway.

Lin Yi stood downstairs, waiting for Shen Mengyi to get home.

Just then, not far away,

the five Blood Drop Believers who had been following them appeared once again.

They were standing at the corner of the building, just like before.

They stood in a bizarre row.

They wore hats, their heads slightly lowered, obscuring their faces.

Lin Yi merely glanced at them and paid them no mind.

A few minutes later, Shen Mengyi’s smiling face appeared on a balcony.

Her uncle’s apartment was on the fifth floor, and she waved down to Lin Yi below.

”Senior Brother Lin, I’m home!”

”Good!”

Lin Yi nodded and started walking back the way he came.

As he passed by the Blood Drop Believers,

Lin Yi wanted to test whether they were after him or Shen Mengyi.

So, he deliberately brushed past the five of them.

But the five Blood Drop Believers didn’t turn around.

Instead, they headed straight for the building’s entrance.

’So they really are after Shen Mengyi?’

A cold glint flashed in Lin Yi’s eyes, and he lunged directly at the Blood Drop Believers.

Without wasting a word,

he sent a blast of golden light slamming into one of the believer’s backs.

BOOM—

The man was sent flying several meters and crashed heavily onto the ground.

Lin Yi hadn’t held back with that punch at all.

The punch directly caused the believer to spit out a mouthful of blood.

He was knocked unconscious on the spot.

Only then did the other four believers all turn around.

When Lin Yi got a clear look at their terrifying, bizarre, and disgusting faces,

his heart skipped a beat.

Without waiting for the four believers to react, he charged at them again.

BANG! BANG! BANG!—

The sounds of successive impacts rang out.

Four Blood Drop Believers who hadn’t even reached the Tier Four Realm

couldn’t withstand the power of a single one of Lin Yi’s punches.

In the blink of an eye, all four were knocked unconscious.

Looking at the five Blood Drop Believers lying on the ground,

Lin Yi glanced up again toward Shen Mengyi’s apartment.

Then he took out his phone and made a call.

「A little over ten minutes later.」

Two police cars, their red and blue lights flashing, arrived at the scene.

The moment the cars came to a stop, Chu Zhengxiong was the first to jump out.

Seeing the Blood Drop Believers lying on the ground, still unconscious,

Chu Zhengxiong’s expression turned incredibly grim.

”What’s the deal with these guys? Were they following you?”

Lin Yi shook his head. ”They weren’t following me. They were following Shen Mengyi.”

”Brother Chu, I get the feeling that these Blood Drop Believers aren’t just choosing their targets randomly.

It’s like they’re organized, like they have a plan!”

”I just tested them. If they were following people randomly, they would have followed me after Shen Mengyi went home, not kept going toward the building.”

After Lin Yi finished speaking, Chu Zhengxiong nodded.

”Yes, they do have specific targets they choose to follow and kill.”

”These lunatics... Take them all away. I’ll have a nice chat with them back at the station!”

”You should get home too. Don’t wander around at night if you don’t have to.”

Chu Zhengxiong glanced at Lin Yi.

He was like a big brother, hurrying his younger brother home after school.

Lin Yi smiled and nodded. ”Brother Chu, are you guys in the middle of some kind of operation? Need my help?”

”You? What help could you be? Don’t ask so many questions. We have plenty of manpower. Don’t get mixed up in this!”

”If your cousin found out, she’d have my head, wouldn’t she?”

”Alright, don’t go home by yourself. Get in the car, we’ll give you a ride.”

Chu Zhengxiong was being extremely cautious.

He was afraid that if he let Lin Yi go, the kid would just run off to who-knows-where by himself.

The operation had already started in the last two days.

Several squads from the Demon Hunting Bureau, the Tiger Guards and Golden Robe Guards of the Martial Arts Alliance, and the local Martial Arts Police Station

were all searching the city for Blood Drop Believers.

Therefore, Xinghai City was bound to be extremely chaotic for the next few days.

Lin Yi nodded and got into a police car with Chu Zhengxiong.

After the five unconscious believers were all thrown into the police cars,

the vehicles quickly turned around and sped out of the district.

A short while later, the police car stopped outside the Jingnan Hufu District.

Lin Yi got out of the car.

Chu Zhengxiong gave Lin Yi a few more words of caution

before hurriedly leaving.

Back home, it was still early in the evening.

Tang Qinru still hadn’t come back, and Lin Yi was getting a little worried.

He took out his phone and gave her a call.

[Sorry, the number you have dialed is switched off. Please try again later...]

’Turned off again!’

Lin Yi listened to the automated message on the phone.

He felt a strange sense of unease.

Given Tang Qinru’s personality, she would usually call him even if she was working late and not coming home,

or at least send a text to let him know.

Ever since Lin Yi got injured, Tang Qinru had frequently reminded him

not to go out at night, and to just stay put once he was home.

But this time, even though she had only been out of contact for a day and a night,

it gave Lin Yi a bad feeling.

’Could she have run into the Blood Drop Believers?’

He immediately made another call.

”Hello?”

Qin Zhaoxue’s gentle voice came through the phone.

”Sister Zhaoxue, I wanted to ask, have you been in contact with Sister Qinru these past two days?

She hasn’t been back for a day and a night, and her phone is always off when I call. I’m worried about her...”

”Sister Qinru? No, I’ve been busy... How about I go check on her in a bit?”

”Okay, thanks!”

”Pfft... Since when did you learn to be so polite?”

Qin Zhaoxue couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

”Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. I’ll go check when I have a free moment. If she’s at the clinic, I’ll have her call you back.”

”Okay!”

After hanging up the phone,

Lin Yi went to the kitchen and looked for ingredients.

Cooking for one was simple enough.

He could just make something simple and make do.

Soon, he had prepared a dish of scrambled eggs with tomato and another of shredded potatoes with green pepper.

There really wasn’t much else in the house.

It was already an accomplishment to scrape together these two dishes.

Lin Yi sat alone at the dining table, eating his dinner.

He was quite satisfied with his own cooking skills.

While it couldn’t compare to the master chefs in big restaurants,

in the realm of home cooking, his skills were definitely above average.

It had the taste of a mother’s cooking...

Just as Lin Yi was halfway through his meal,

suddenly, a notification pinged—the sound of a water drop.

Lin Yi quickly picked up his phone and saw it was a message.

Lin Yu: I’m offering you some credit. You want it or not?

’Lin Yu?’

Seeing who the message was from, Lin Yi’s brow furrowed slightly.

He immediately replied: What credit? What do you mean?

Lin Yu: The Demon Hunting Bureau and the Martial Arts Alliance are searching everywhere for Blood Drop Believers right now. I can give you the locations of several Blood Drop strongholds. I guarantee the information is accurate...

Lin Yi: Have you joined Blood Drop? What’s your goal in doing this?

Lin Yu: (smiley face) Joining Blood Drop doesn’t necessarily make someone a terrible villain. Just tell me, do you want the credit or not?

Lin Yi fell into deep thought.

Before he moved out of the family home, his relationship with Lin Yu had not been good.

Lin Yu was completely two-faced, always putting on an act for Old Lin,

all to suppress Lin Yi, the man’s biological son.

But the Lin Yu of today was like a completely different person.

Strictly speaking, ever since he joined Blood Drop,

Lin Yi felt like he didn’t even know him anymore.

He would take the initiative to leak information to Lin Yi.

And now he was even playing the role of an ’undercover agent,’ betraying his so-called comrades?

For a moment, Lin Yi couldn’t figure out Lin Yu’s motive for doing this.

’Or is he deliberately trying to lure me over?

And then ambush me with the other Blood Drop Believers?’

After a moment, Lin Yi replied: Fine. Where?

Lin Yu: (smirk) 124 Nanshan Road. There’s a repair shop there that’s one of Blood Drop’s strongholds for relaying messages. Probably thirty to fifty people. There’s a courtyard out back. You’ll find them once you go in. Good luck...
