The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 111: Chapter 111: News from Lin Yu, You’ve Joined Blood Drop?

Dusk was falling.

A business van pulled to a stop outside the main gate of the Jingnan Hufu District.

The car door opened.

Lin Yi stepped out.

”Sister Qingru, aren’t you coming back with me?”

He asked, a little surprised, seeing as Tang Qinru showed no intention of getting out of the car.

Inside the car sat Qin Zhaoxue and Tang Qinru.

She shook her head. ”I still have some things to take care of at the clinic tonight. I have to handle them myself!”

”I might have to pull an all-nighter, so don’t worry about me!”

”Also... don’t blame me for not warning you. You better stay home tonight and behave. No more messing around with Chu Zhengxiong. You were lucky to get out of it with your life this time, but there’s no guarantee for a next time!”

Tang Qinru had no idea how many times she had said those same words today.

Lin Yi nodded repeatedly. ”Yes, I’ll remember, Sister Qingru!”

Tang Qinru noticed his impatient expression.

She frowned, gave Lin Yi a long, hard look, and then pulled the door shut.

The van then drove off. Lin Yi just stood there, silently watching its taillights disappear at the end of the street.

Just as he was about to walk into the residential district, his brow suddenly furrowed, and he paused for a moment.

He glanced around.

’Someone’s watching me from the shadows, but my danger sense isn’t going off.’

’That means whoever it is, they don’t bear me any ill will.’

Lin Yi turned around and said softly, ”Come on out.”

The words had barely left his lips when a figure emerged from the darkness across the way.

When Lin Yi got a clear look at the person’s face, he said in surprise, ”Lin Yu?”

That’s right, it was Lin Yu.

Lin Yu took only a few steps forward before stopping.

”Surprised? That I’d show up here?” Lin Yu said, his voice calm.

Lin Yi nodded. ”I’m just curious how you found this place. What about Old Lin? Is he here too?”

”No, he’s at home,” Lin Yu replied quietly.

The relationship between the two of them went without saying.

Before Lin Yi moved out of the house, he and Lin Yu were like fire and water.

As a stepson, Lin Yu received Lin Dazhi’s wholehearted devotion and investment.

And in front of Lin Dazhi, he always put on the act of a filial son.

He always managed to win Lin Dazhi’s favor.

It was for this very reason that his predecessor, feeling ostracized at every turn, had chosen to end his own life.

Meanwhile, in Lin Dazhi’s eyes, Lin Yi had become an insignificant, invisible presence.

The moment he moved out of that house,

he felt a sense of relief wash over his entire body.

He had even thought that from then on, he would never have anything to do with Lin Dazhi or Lin Yu again.

Not until the Martial Arts exam ended and he entered the New District alone...

But Lin Yu’s appearance today was a bit of a surprise to Lin Yi.

Lin Yu smiled. ”Actually, I’ve always known what you’ve been up to.”

”You signed up for the Martial Arts exam on your own, and you joined the New Star Martial Arts Hall as a disciple.

This house you’re in now—you’re renting it, right?”

Hearing this, Lin Yi’s expression gradually darkened.

”You didn’t come looking for me today just to tell me that you know everything about me, did you?

Lin Yu, I moved out because I don’t want to have anything to do with you people anymore!”

”I don’t plan on having anything to do with you either...”

”I get it. Your talent is better than mine. You’re a genius when it comes to Martial Arts.”

”You couldn’t get Old Lin’s trust at home, let alone his support. I can understand why you wanted to leave.”

”Actually, you’ve always been the one I was chasing.

I’ve always been running after you. I wanted to surpass you, to completely crush you!”

”But it’s a pity... Only now have I realized that the gap between us is just getting wider and wider.”

”Your life might have a bright future, but as for me...”

”Forget it. I didn’t come here today to reminisce, nor did I come to be confrontational.”

”I have a piece of news to tell you!”

Lin Yu’s expression and tone both turned serious.

This was a side of Lin Yu that Lin Yi had never seen before.

He relaxed his guard slightly and asked, ”What news?”

”Wu Liang is dead. The higher-ups in Blood Drop want to speed things up. They want to bring forth the Demon King as soon as possible.

They’re a bunch of lunatics, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goal!”

”And the price for that is the sacrifice of everyone in the entire Old District!”

”You’ve been in contact with the Demon Hunting Bureau, haven’t you? Tell them this news so they can prepare ahead of time!”

When Lin Yi heard these words,

his heart sank.

’Blood Drop is going to summon the Demon King ahead of schedule? And the offering is everyone in the Old District?’

If this information was accurate, it was certainly no small matter.

’But how would Lin Yu know all this?’

’Could it be...’

”Lin Yu, did you join Blood Drop?”

”I was forced into it. I had no choice. I wanted to surpass you, to truly take your place...”

”Forget it. It’s getting late, I should go.”

”Remember what I said. Have the Demon Hunting Bureau stop those lunatics from Blood Drop!”

After Lin Yu finished speaking,

he slowly retreated back into the shadows behind him.

Lin Yi quickly moved forward, wanting to catch up to Lin Yu and ask for a clear explanation.

But by the time he reached the greenbelt, he found that Lin Yu had already vanished.

Lin Yi glanced around.

Finally, he noticed a black card on the ground.

On it was the striking image of a blood drop.

On the back of the card was an address and a few words.

”Take care of Old Lin and my mom for me...”

Seeing the address, Lin Yi guessed it was probably Blood Drop’s temporary base in the Old District.

As for the matter of sacrificing the entire Old District,

Lin Yi didn’t dare to delay. He immediately took out his phone and made a call.

”Yo? What’s up?”

Soon, Chu Zhengxiong’s lazy voice came from the other end of the line.

”Brother Chu, let’s meet up. There’s something I need to tell you in person.”

”Meet up? Don’t even joke about that. Does your ’cousin’ know you want to meet me? Did she approve? If you didn’t get her permission, you’d better not see me!”

”Forget about that for now. This is about the Old District, and the lives of everyone in it!”

After he spoke, the other end of the line fell silent for a moment.

The seconds ticked by.

Half a minute later, Chu Zhengxiong’s voice came back, low and deep. ”Kid, you’d better not be lying to me... This isn’t something to joke about!”

”I’m not lying. It’s real!”

”Alright, I’ll send you an address... actually, never mind. Where are you? I’ll drive over and pick you up myself.”

”I’m outside the gate of the Jingnan Hufu District right now!”

”Don’t move. I’ll be there in ten minutes!”

...

「The Shen Residence.」

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK—

Someone knocked on Shen Mengyi’s door.

Then, Shen Yuzhe’s voice came from outside. ”Mengyi, are you asleep?”

”Brother, I’m not asleep yet!”

Hearing her older brother’s voice, Shen Mengyi quickly replied.

Then, the door opened.

Shen Yuzhe walked in from outside.

”Brother, why aren’t you asleep yet? Is something wrong?” Shen Mengyi said with a smile.

Although she wasn’t asleep, she was already lying in bed.

Seeing Shen Yuzhe enter, she sat up, leaning against the headboard.

Shen Yuzhe sat down at the study desk in the room.

He looked at his sister with a grin and said, ”It’s nothing, I just wanted to come and chat with you.”

”Oh? What about?” Shen Mengyi nodded.

Shen Yuzhe paused for a moment, organizing his thoughts.

After a moment, he finally asked, ”How long have you known Lin Yi?”

”Who? Lin Yi? Brother... I met him at the Martial Arts Hall. I’ve known him for as long as I’ve been going there!” Shen Mengyi’s heart suddenly tensed up.

It was just like every other time; whenever she got even a little close to a boy,

Shen Yuzhe would come over to talk to her about it.

If the boy was the type to pester her endlessly, he would personally chase him away.

Today, Shen Yuzhe had come to her room again.

’Is he going to do something to Lin Yi...?’

Shen Mengyi hurriedly continued, ”Brother, Lin Yi isn’t like other boys. His talent for Martial Arts is widely acknowledged at our Martial Arts Hall. Not only do all the senior and junior disciples recognize it, but even the instructors do too!”

”Maybe in the future, he’ll even be able to get into a Martial Arts University...”

Before Shen Mengyi could finish,

Shen Yuzhe chuckled and nodded. ”Mengyi, your brother doesn’t mean anything by it. I’ve seen his talent for myself.”

”He’s not like those other boys who were always pestering you.”

”Besides, he has a good future ahead of him. I just came to tell you today... that your brother approves of him too!”

”You don’t need to hold back. If you really like him, then go after him.”

”My only condition is that he must get into a Martial Arts University and go to the New District with you!”

”Huh?”

Shen Mengyi was dumbfounded.

’Are those words actually coming from Shen Yuzhe?’

’He’s actually telling me... to pursue Lin Yi?’
