Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1113: Chapter 1112: Free from Desire and Want

With Lu Xiaobu causing such a fuss, the fat guy was relieved, and Zheng Hai also breathed a sigh of relief.

Both of them realized that Lu Xiaobu wasn’t just teasing them but was genuinely willing to lower his status to befriend them.

This made them both feel deeply honored.

”Boss, just tell us what you need. If it’s something I can do, it’s no more than a word away!” Pan Yang pounded his chest loudly!

He was just a small player, trying to survive between the cracks for a few resources and connections.

Having finally encountered a big shot, how could he not clutch at this lifeline tightly?!

Zheng Hai also nodded, indicating his willingness to help.

”Actually, there’s nothing much, just wanted to ask how you guys spend money so fast.” Lu Xiaobu inquired, ”I, you see, started from scratch, and I really lack ideas on spending money. Among the people I know, there are few who spend lavishly. I thought you rich second-generation kids from the Imperial City should know more than me.”

”Uh...”

Pan Yang and Zheng Hai were dumbfounded.

They racked their brains but couldn’t figure out that Lu Xiaobu was troubled by this!

Are there still people who don’t know how to spend money these days?!

The two of them were stunned, but Lu Xiaobu didn’t hurry them and waited quietly for them to respond.

He truly didn’t know how to spend money.

Back in the day in Shimen, the family didn’t have much in assets, spending a million or eight hundred thousand was extravagant!

But now, a million or even eight hundred million isn’t enough for extravagance!

So, he needed to find ways to spend money.

Pan Yang and Zheng Hai were dumbfounded for a moment, yet they somewhat caught on to Lu Xiaobu’s idea.

Zheng Hai thought for a moment and spoke first.

”Young Master Bu, let me just speak frankly.” After receiving Lu Xiaobu’s nod of approval, Zheng Hai slowly said.

”Your business is quite unique. Given the current state of the Heavenly Dynasty, there are usually two types of wealthy individuals.”

”The first type does business for the masses, follows a financing path, spends a lot but also earns a lot, and eventually goes public to maximize wealth, which is the state of most wealthy individuals.”

”The second type only runs one kind of business or company, focusing on a single product. Their income is stable, some choose to go public while others don’t, but they also spend quite a bit because they need resources from various aspects.”

”However, Young Master Bu, you are an odd one out among the odd. Your products are numerous, covering many industries, and you’re practically the leader in each one! Many industries complement each other, self-sustaining with pure profit!”

”As a result, you don’t have many expenses. Even if you don’t compete with others, you still make money sitting tight!”

Saying this, Zheng Hai looked at Lu Xiaobu’s expression.

But Lu Xiaobu nodded, indicating for him to continue.

Zheng Hai wasn’t wrong. The intersection of various industries indeed made business quite easy for him.

To put it simply, other companies advertising is all-encompassing, seeking help from various sectors.

However, the Lu Group, which holds the most popular games, live streams, and beverages, only needs to rotate ads within its companies, which is ten thousand times more effective than outside ads!

This greatly reduced the marketing costs for the Lu Group, losing a major form of expenditure.

”Therefore, I don’t know your thoughts, but if you truly want to spend money, why not invest in some companies you’re interested in? If you gain, it’s a joy to all; if you lose, it’s as you wish.” Zheng Hai proposed a solution.

”That could work.” Lu Xiaobu stroked his chin and said.

A few years ago, when he first came to this place, it was extremely backward, without even smartphones.

So, he looked down on some of the era’s ideas.

But over the years, thanks to his influence, people’s minds have gotten quite close to those on Earth.

In this way, investing in some companies and projects might not be a bad choice.

”Thanks for the compliment, Young Master Bu.” Zheng Hai laughed, ”Glad to be of help.”

”Fat guy, what about you? Any ideas?” Lu Xiaobu turned to the fat guy.

”I don’t really have lofty ideas. If it’s just about spending money, it’s nothing more than food, drink, play, and fun.” The fat guy scratched his head and said.

”I don’t know your intentions, but if I had as much money as you, I’d buy dozens of villas and a fleet of luxury cars, hire loads of young models to keep me company every day!”

As he spoke, the fat guy nearly drooled!

”Hahaha!” Lu Xiaobu chuckled.

This fat guy sure is genuine.

”However, I figure you’ve probably played with those things enough,”

The fat guy quickly shifted his tone: ”You’re like the big shots on the First Level Rich List I’ve met; simple material pursuits are no longer what you need.”

Lu Xiaobu didn’t deny it and nodded.

These things really don’t hold much appeal to him anymore; buying a few houses is just a matter of words.

No matter how good the luxury car is, can it be better than custom-made luxury cars others are eager to send him?

And no amount of beauties can compare to the few by his side. As for carousing all night and leaving traces everywhere, he’s not a playboy and has no interest in that!

”So, Boss, may I be so bold as to ask, do you have any hobbies? Singing, dancing, calligraphy, literature, sports, fishing, anything goes!”

”Such hobbies, if truly pursued deeply, can be quite costly too!”

”Just like Fu Zhongshan, President Fu from earlier, he’s into literature, and his spending in this area is astronomical every year!”

”Spending a fortune on what one likes should be a norm for someone of your status!”

The fat guy suggested.

”Hobbies?” Lu Xiaobu was stumped, tilting his head and thinking for a long time, hesitated, then said, ”Does sleeping count?”

”Pfft!”

The fat guy almost spat out a mouthful of old blood.

After all this time, the legendary Lu Xiaobu doesn’t even have a hobby?!

Lu Xiaobu felt a bit helpless; he really didn’t seem to have any hobbies.

At most, he enjoyed good food, but in terms of indulging in gourmet, he was already at the pinnacle and couldn’t stand eating delicacies every day!

”Then why not cultivate a hobby?!” The fat guy felt somewhat helpless; for a person with no desires or needs, wanting to spend money is difficult!

Just like monks in temples, those true masters with no desires or needs, what do they spend money on?

Besides three simple meals a day, there’s nothing else to spend on.

No, no! Those people do have expenses. If you give them money, at least a monk knows to expand the temple and re-gild the Buddha statue!

However, Young Master Bu seems like someone who’s beyond play and whose desires have long ceased to be desires!

For such a person, the state of being desireless and need-free isn’t much different from those enlightened monks!

What should we do?! The fat guy was worried too!
