Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 779: Chapter 777: Segmenting the Market [Fifth Update]

You guys have no idea, when Xiao Wang got on the van, he was really shocked!

A van, where besides seating space, everything else was chock-full!

All sorts of stuff to eat, use, wear, don!

Everything you could think of!

”Wow! What the heck is all this in the van?”

Xiao Wang was stunned by the full-packed gift boxes in the back.

”Hey, it’s just Spring Festival goods! What else could it be? Making a big deal out of nothing!”

That employee rolled their eyes and said, ”Alright, let me go, I’ve already given up resisting!”

”No, Spring Festival goods?! These?! You mean you paid for them yourselves?!” asked Xiao Wang in disbelief.

”Hey hey hey, watch your language, you’re slandering our Young Master Bu here.”

The employee rolled their eyes again: ”How could Young Master ever let us pay for this?”

Xiao Wang: ”Then, how many people’s goods are these?”

Employee: ”Just mine! What do you mean, ’how many people’? Seriously!”

Xiao Wang: ”Just for one person?! This must be worth thousands!”

Employee: ”More than ten thousand, I guess.”

Xiao Wang: ”More than ten thousand?! How many employees do you have?!”

Employee: ”Over a hundred thousand!”

Xiao Wang: ”That means, Lu Xiaobu spent over ten billion to provide Spring Festival goods for you all?!”

Employee: ”That’s normal! Previously, Young Master even gave away tens of thousands to each of us just to play with!”

He was referring to the time of the last company-wide sales event!

Xiao Wang: ”Awesome! Awesome! Speaking of which, what about your year-end bonus? It isn’t just these goods, is it? Cash would be more practical!”

Employee sighed: ”I’m telling you, Officer, you’re new here, right?”

Xiao Wang was taken aback: ”Huh? How did you know?!”

Employee shook his head: ”And you’re not a local, are you?”

Xiao Wang: ”How could you tell?!”

Employee: ”No brainer! Anyone who’s a local, or has been with the company for a few years, wouldn’t ask such a question! Never mind, I’ll tell you. Year-end bonus is one thing; I heard Young Master handed out over thirty billion! And that’s not even counting the rewards that’ll be given at the beginning of next year’s annual meeting!”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Wang swallowed hard: ”Really?!”

Although he expressed doubt, the recent overwork by the employees and the van full of goods had already convinced him beyond any doubt!

Lu Xiaobu, just for the New Year’s, casually took out nearly fifty billion!

With a boss like that, it’s only right to have such loyal employees! As it should be!

So, Xiao Wang escorted the employee all the way to the airport!

Along the way, Xiao Wang was extremely curious, incessantly asking the employee about the benefits at Lu Group!

And the more he heard, the more surprised he was, the more shocked he was!

...

Lu Group had started their holiday, but over at Black Rose Company, it was a completely different scene!

”Not on holiday yet!”

”Oh my God! Overworking every day! It’s already the 28th and still no holiday, I can’t even change my ticket anymore!”

”Stop grumbling and go complain to the boss if you dare!”

”Go on then, talking such unrealistic stuff, what’s the point?! I’m already working overtime, why can’t I moan a little?!”

”Come on then, stop your grumbling! You’re acting as if you don’t make money, just get on with it!”

”You’re right, since I can’t go back, might as well earn some more!”

”...”

Black Rose just doesn’t treat employees like Lu Xiaobu does!

After all, she started it just for fun and to get some revenge along the way!

Now it’s Chinese New Year, is Lu Group on holiday?!

Perfect timing!

Strike while the iron is hot!

Someone might ask, wouldn’t that rile up the employees?

Hell no!

Just throw money at them!

Whether it’s a generous year-end bonus, triple pay, or New Year’s benefits, just register for one, negotiate the next order, and see how much you’ll be rewarded!

Otherwise, why do you think United Payment spends more than Alipay!

It’s because a good chunk of it is spent on these employees!

So don’t complain, you’re getting paid, work!

Don’t want to work? Get lost! There’s plenty of others who will!

...

Besides these two companies, there’s a whole bunch of people who are too busy to rest!

They are the big shots in the business world.

Normally, these guys would be cuddling up with their beauties, even going to sleep with one in each arm!

Of course, there are also those who have to run around during the New Year, trying to please both sides.

But this year is completely different!

They’re all too busy to care, huddling together.

”This first half is over!”

”Yeah! It was brutal! Lu Group threw in 12.3 billion! United Payment smashed 25.2 billion! They’re betting their lives!”

”No kidding! Xiaobu’s entire assets are only 60 billion, with generous liquid funds at most, and if all are accounted for, at most half, that’s 30 billion! He just blew almost half of that!”

”It’s more than just almost half, it’s over half! I heard that despite everything, Lu Group still spent generously this New Year, spending over 50 billion! Tsk tsk!”

”But United Payment is not faring much better, their total funds are about 1 trillion, and now a quarter is gone! This isn’t just spending money; it’s gambling with their lives!”

”Indeed! I figure some of those 23 big players are having sleepless nights!”

”Some people?! I think all except Xia Jie and Zhan Longyan can’t sleep, and they’re probably losing hair over it!”

”Alright, enough about that! With the current situation, it looks like United Payment has won, right?”

”No way! Old Cao, can’t you see? United Payment definitely won! Although both sides suffered heavy losses, even more so for United Payment, don’t forget, they have more money, and it’s all liquid! Once the second half starts, it’s a sure win!”

”Of course I know that! But think about it! Who is Xiaobu?! Would he blindly throw money away, knowing it’s a losing game?!”

”Well, it’s hard to tell, don’t forget who Xiaobu is just because he’s pulled off a few earth-shattering feats! Xiaobu is famously a profligate spender! Does he need a reason to squander his wealth?!”

”There’s a possibility! After all, I heard Xiaobu has his eyes on Black Rose, he’s probably lost his mind over it! Maybe it’s just a ruse to distract the warlords!”

”Possibly, with anyone else I wouldn’t believe it, but with Xiaobu, who knows!”

”Regardless, Xiaobu has made a terrible move! He was doing fine with his online shopping, he didn’t need to bother with this. But now he’s stuck in a bind, heading towards his own ruin!”

”Just wait! After the New Year, let’s all figure it out and start dividing Xiaobu’s market share?!”

”Heh, Old Li, I knew you were thinking the same!”

”Hehehe, knows who, right!”

”...”

While chatting, the group all chuckled to themselves.

Just like they said, they don’t care whether Xiaobu wins or loses!

Of course, they all think Xiaobu has lost!

What they care about is—dividing the market!

To divide the market that originally belonged to Xiaobu after his defeat!

That’s all money!

Look, they already think Xiaobu is done for!

But is that really the case!?
