Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 776: Chapter 774: Thinking with the Lower Half [2nd Update]

Xia Jie and Zhan Longyan were in the office, discussing.

”United Payments? This move seems a bit direct.” Xia Jie said, somewhat helplessly.

”Exactly! Just crushing with money, and what’s more, it won’t even harm Lu Xiaobu’s core interests!” Zhan Longyan also expressed his confusion, ”I thought Black Rose would definitely strike at Lu Xiaobu’s physical industries.”

”I really can’t imagine what this move is good for, except for burning money.” Xia Jie sighed, ”If I were Lu Xiaobu, I definitely wouldn’t accept the challenge.”

”Neither would I, especially since Lu Xiaobu’s mobile payments were only introduced to complement online shopping, but now Black Rose is targeting offline retailers. These are two completely unrelated businesses.”

Zhan Longyan’s frown deepened.

Both he and Xia Jie didn’t quite understand why Black Rose would pull such a stunt from the start, a complete money-burning tactic.

Mobile payments? What’s so good about that? Could they even replace cash?! What a joke!

You want to use mobile payments to replace cash, have you asked the state?!

They didn’t understand, really didn’t understand.

To you, their confusion might seem quite funny!

After all, you are living through this era!

However, they are different; they haven’t yet touched this era.

In their hearts, the next era after cash payments should have been the credit card era, following the trajectory of foreign countries.

Therefore, it’s understandable that they don’t understand the visionary perspectives of Lu Xiaobu and Black Rose, way ahead of their time!

And at that moment.

”General Manager Xia, General Manager Zhan, this is Tian Jie, I’m here to inform you that Lu Xiaobu has accepted the challenge.” Tian Jie stood at the door, knocked, and spoke.

After saying this, Tian Jie left; she was Xue Lin’s secretary, and merely delivering the message was enough.

However, what she didn’t know was that amidst the sound of her heels leaving, Xia Jie and Zhan Longyan in the office were utterly shocked!

”Lu Xiaobu accepted the challenge?! Has he lost his mind?! Xue Lin is burning money, and he’s following suit with his wasteful spending?!” Xia Jie said, nearly freaking out.

”Damn, what are these two thinking?! What’s the point of fighting this kind of battle?!”

Zhan Longyan was on the verge of a breakdown!

They had just been talking about how Lu Xiaobu would definitely not accept the challenge!

And the next second, Lu Xiaobu accepted?!

It felt like Lu Xiaobu was just messing around, as if he made this decision just to slap them in the face?!

”Do you think, is it possible that Lu Xiaobu has fallen for Black Rose, and that’s why he’s lost his head?!” Xia Jie suddenly had an epiphany.

”Hey! That’s very likely!” Zhan Longyan’s eyes also lit up.

”Oh, in that case, it’s understandable! Black Rose truly lives up to her name, fully utilizing her own assets!” Xia Jie’s face changed from complaining to full of admiration.

It’s all about the results!

As long as the outcome is good, the process doesn’t matter!

”Yeah, once Lu Xiaobu has accepted the challenge, he won’t back down easily! With that, can our 100 billion yuan in liquid funds not beat Lu Xiaobu, whose entire worth is only around 600 billion yuan?!” Zhan Longyan laughed heartily.

”I thought Lu Xiaobu was very impressive, but it turns out he’s also just a man! Hahaha!” Xia Jie was overjoyed!

He never imagined that Lu Xiaobu, who once almost made them feel defeated, would fall into a trap because of a beauty trap!

”Tch, tch, tch, the graveyard of heroes lies in a beauty’s arms!” Zhan Longyan also sighed, but the joy inside was impossible to conceal!

...

”General Manager Xue, I’ve delivered the message.” Tian Jie knocked and said outside Xue Lin’s office door.

”Alright, I got it.” Xue Lin’s enchanting voice came through, ”Tian, do you want to come in for a wash?!”

”No, thank you, General Manager Xue.” Tian Jie felt a rush of panic inside her heart and quickly took her leave, ”Goodbye, General Manager Xue.”

Logically speaking, since they’re both women, they should be closer to each other!

But for some reason, she always found President Xue to be a bit odd.

...

Inside the bathroom, Xue Lin stretched out her slender right leg, watching the bubbles slide down: ”Little girl, I want to see how long you can stay on your toes! It’s a mountain apart when a man pursues a woman, but merely a layer of gauze when a woman pursues a man! But when a woman pursues another woman, tsk tsk tsk!”

After saying that, Xue Lin stood up, exposing her perfect figure to the air, and then walked out of the bathroom without clothes.

As she walked, she muttered to herself: ”This must be Lu Xiaobu’s own doing, after all, if it were my Lanlan, she would definitely plan before acting!”

”After all, I now have an absolute advantage in terms of funding! Go head to head with me!? Definitely, Lu Xiaobu has his mind on his... desires!”

While saying this, she picked up a bottle of red wine, sat on the sofa, and began to pour and drink on her own.

”A creature that thinks with its lower body dares to compete with me?!”

Thus, in the eyes of Xia Jie, Zhan Longyan, and Xue Lin, Lu Xiaobu had become a lowlife who had his mind on his... desires and thought with his lower body!

Although they were looking at different points, surprisingly, they all ended up with the same conclusion.

If Lu Xiaobu knew their evaluations, he would definitely point at their noses and curse – ”It’s you buggers who have your minds on your... desires, it’s you who think with your lower halves, goddamn it, I haven’t indulged in fleshly pleasures in my life so far!”

...

But no matter what they thought.

The payment war had already fully kicked off.

Day one.

”Register with United Payment and get a 100 yuan red envelope instantly, both parties receive it!”

Under Black Rose’s no-expense-spared advertising, this incentive swept across all online and offline platforms!

Such ads were everywhere you went!

Netizens were thrilled upon seeing it!

”Holy cow! This is possible?! You get a hundred just by inviting?!”

”This is basically handing out money!”

”Come on, have you registered with United Payment?! Use my invite code!”

”Use my invite code, and I’ll throw in an extra fifty yuan mobile credit!”

”Dad, Mom, can I borrow your ID cards, I can make four hundred bucks!”

”Girl, come register!”

”...”

It’s undeniable, money is the most motivating thing.

In no time, the internet was filled with various invitation links to register.

In just a short period of time, it even formed a professional industry chain!

People actively and spontaneously started offline promotions, offering small gifts to get others to register!

In just one day, the usual greeting of ”Have you eaten?” changed to ”Have you registered?”

After all, who would foolishly refuse a chance to earn a hundred yuan just like that?!

And so, with no regard for cost and a promotion priced in the sky, the registration numbers for United Payment soared!

Ten thousand, fifty thousand, one hundred thousand, five hundred thousand, one million!

When the first day ended, the number of United Payment registrations had already reached — 1.89 million, about to break the two million mark!

Truly, it was like — crying wolf!
