Zhan Shen: It’s Just a Sacrifice, How Can I Become a Villain?

147: Our Ancient God Church needs talents like you!“You…you’re just a newcomer. What do you think the Ancient God Church is? Do you think this is a place where you can run wild?”

Whisper couldn’t directly answer Song Zhong’s question; he could only continue to find fault with Song Zhong’s attitude.

“Alright, wasn’t it just that I killed one of your Clones on Jin’nan Mountain? Is that really reason enough to bother me so much?”

Bang!

Whisper slammed the table. “Lord Yue Huai, this Song Zhong has repeatedly disrupted my plans. He’s in cahoots with those Night Watcher fellows. You must think twice!”

Yue Huai and Qian Mo had no intention of speaking, merely following Whisper’s words and looking at Song Zhong with suspicious eyes.

Regardless of whether Whisper was speaking the truth, they wanted to see how Song Zhong would react.

“You’re right, I do have a connection with the Night Watcher!”

To their surprise, Song Zhong actually admitted it in front of Whisper.

Whisper controlled his facial expression, trying hard not to let the corners of his mouth turn up wildly.

“Lord Yue Huai, Lord Qian Mo, look, he admitted it! The traitor has exposed himself!”

Qian Mo’s face still held a fake smile. “Song Zhong, what do you mean by that? If you don’t explain yourself clearly, I’m afraid you won’t have a good outcome today.”

“Heh heh, I don’t want to hide anything. I once cooperated with Chen Muye, the captain of the Cangnan City Night Watcher,” Song Zhong said.

“Cooperated? What did you cooperate on?” Qian Mo asked.

“The two of us teamed up and robbed a Night Watcher rookie.”

The smile on Whisper’s face gradually disappeared.

Teaming up with the Night Watcher to mess with the Night Watcher? How does that sound more in line with the Ancient God Church’s style?

Qian Mo’s curiosity was also piqued by Song Zhong’s words. “You’re not trying to trick us, are you? Could a stubborn Night Watcher like Chen Muye do something like that with you?”

“Where there’s a will, there’s a way, right? There are no eternal friends, only eternal interests!” Song Zhong said. “I remember that fellow was called Mu Dong, a Night Watcher from Xihong City. If you don’t believe me, you can investigate it yourselves.”

“Moreover, I was alone at the time, seeking cooperation with the Night Watcher. There’s nothing to hide about that.”

Qian Mo nodded, indicating understanding. “The fact that you can tell us these things proves that you can still be trusted.”

Listening to Qian Mo’s words, Whisper felt as if this fellow’s brain was waterlogged.

You just believe him after a simple explanation? Are you that easy to fool?

“Then explain why you killed the three spies I planted in the Training Camp?” Whisper continued to press.

“I didn’t know those three were from our Ancient God Church. It was just a coincidence. Of course, you can find evidence to prove I’m lying. Besides, if those three were spies you planted, how would I have known that information?”

“You…” Whisper was choked back by Song Zhong’s single sentence. “They’re all dead, where am I supposed to find evidence?”

“Heh heh, that’s your problem, not mine!”

“What a sharp-tongued young man. Then I ask you, what happened with you laying hands on the Snake Woman? Do you know how much loss you caused the Ancient God Church?” Whisper asked.

The Snake Woman was Yue Huai’s person. Whisper wanted to see what Yue Huai’s attitude was on this matter.

“The Snake Woman? Heh heh, my reason for acting was simple: the one behind me wanted her eyes!” Song Zhong’s hoarse voice seemed to be recounting a trivial matter. “Moreover, I also added new combat power to the Ancient God Church. The claim of incurring losses doesn’t seem to hold up, oh!”

Song Zhong clapped his hands, and two figures in black robes walked in.

Whisper’s eyes widened. These two were old acquaintances of his.

The Snake Woman and Han Shaoyun.

Although their appearances had changed significantly, and a scent of death permeated their bodies.

But Whisper could distinguish them. “What did you do to them?”

Whisper wasn’t very clear about the Snake Woman’s situation, but he knew about Han Shaoyun. He had died during the attack on the Training Camp.

At that time, he remembered that He Lin, the Ninth Seat of the Believers, had originally planned to retrieve Han Shaoyun’s corpse, but due to interference, he ultimately failed to do so.

Now, it seemed that Song Zhong had also played a trick at that time.

“Heh heh, look at them. Don’t they look like works of art now? They are now impervious to fire and water, invulnerable to blades and guns, they fight without regard for their lives, and their combat power has greatly increased.”

Whisper’s face was very grim. “What do you mean by this? Desecrating the corpses of your companions, you are simply…”

He was about to continue but couldn’t find the right words to criticize Song Zhong.

Because what Song Zhong was displaying now couldn’t be more in line with the Ancient God Church’s way of doing things.

Qian Mo’s eyes were already filled with a smile. “Whisper, let this matter go. This kid is right, we are currently in need of ‘people’!”

Qian Mo gave Song Zhong a thumbs up. “Kid, well done. Our Ancient God Church needs talent like you!”

Whisper had a bitter taste in his mouth. He felt like a clown right now.

He had intended to destroy Song Zhong, but unexpectedly, the more he explained, the more sinister and perverse Song Zhong became.

Damn it, he was utterly rotten. For the Ancient God Church, Song Zhong was practically a perfect fit!

Leaving aside everything else, just the act of refining corpses alone was enough for the Night Watcher to not tolerate him.

Hearing Qian Mo say such words, even if Whisper had something to say in his heart, he couldn’t say it anymore.

He had troubled Song Zhong twice in a row, and both times the other party had resolved it. If he continued to pester him, it would probably have a negative impact on himself.

“Alright!” Yue Huai saw that the two were no longer arguing, so he began to speak.

“You two have been arguing for a long time, and although you were at loggerheads, everyone is ultimately working for the Church.”

Yue Huai looked at Whisper. “I know there are some misunderstandings between you and Song Zhong. Although what you said just now indeed has some questionable points, Song Zhong was fighting alone before, so it’s normal for him to make some unconventional moves.”

Whisper lowered his head. “As you command.”

Immediately after, Yue Huai said to Song Zhong: “Song Zhong, don’t blame Whisper for targeting you. His concerns are not entirely unfounded.”

“I have an idea now!” Yue Huai said. “Song Zhong, you can become the fourth Ancient God of the Church, but you must do one thing to prove your loyalty to the Ancient God Church. I’ll give you time to consider. When you’ve thought it through, you can tell me your plan.”

“Heh heh! Lord Yue Huai, no need to wait. If I need to submit a pledge of allegiance, I can do it right now!”

Song Zhong’s directness surprised everyone, and Yue Huai was also very surprised.

“Oh? Then tell me, what do you plan to do?”

Song Zhong looked at the others and said, “At this moment, how about I lead people to rescue the believers in the Zhaijie Institute?”
