I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

After all of Cook P. Jones’s animal companions had been revived!

All of his animal companions raised their heads to look at that familiar figure high in the night sky!

Their gazes were fervent!

Clearly, after tonight, Cook P. Jones had acquired a hundred thousand extremely loyal, even fanatical, battle pets!

And they were the kind that were immortal and indestructible in the darkness!

On the ground.

Those flowing shadows, having completed their mission, flew one after another into the night sky! Returning to Cook P. Jones’s body!

After withdrawing the shadows he had released, Cook P. Jones seemed to shrink a whole size from weakness!

His bright eyes also grew somewhat weary, showing a listless, drained appearance!

”Thank goodness I signed master-servant contracts with those stray animals in advance before the plan!””Even with the contracts as anchor points, my body was almost completely drained...”

”If there were no contracts, and I had to forcibly share my power, I’m afraid I would have passed out...”

Cook P. Jones in the night sky softly sighed.

After sighing, he manipulated his exhausted body, slowly descending downwards...

After all the shadows on the ground disappeared, Loren retracted the wings behind his back and returned to the ground.

Standing on the ground, he looked up at the figure slowly descending from the night sky, the corner of his mouth silently curling into a subtle smile.

”Can’t hold on anymore? It seems your stamina isn’t very good, Mr. Cook...”

”Master, I cannot allow you to slander a kind gentleman like that~”

Raven’s tone also carried a hint of amusement.

Is that so? The robbed wealthy folks probably wouldn’t agree... Loren couldn’t help but retort internally.

Cook P. Jones landed beside Loren, his drained face still retaining a trace of joy from advancing to the Legendary rank.

”Mr. Loren, the plan is complete, we can withdraw.”

”Are you taking all these animal companions with you?”

Loren turned his head, looking at the stray animals on the ground who were gazing fanatically at Cook P. Jones.

Hearing Loren’s question, a clear look of pride appeared on Cook P. Jones’s face.

”Of course.”

As his words fell, he raised his right hand, curled his index finger to his lips, and blew a clear, melodious whistle!

As Cook P. Jones’s whistle sounded, all those hundred thousand resurrected animals instantly transformed into piles of flowing shadows right where they stood!

These flowing shadows, transformed from the hundred thousand animals, all surged towards Cook P. Jones’s location at an extremely fast speed, gathering into the shadow behind him...

In the blink of an eye.

Only Loren, Cook P. Jones, and Huck, who was squatting to the side, remained in this ruined high-end residential area.

Loren silently glanced at the shadow behind Cook P. Jones.

All hidden within his own shadow?

Does the Legendary Tier ”Night Hunter” also possess spatial abilities...

If an assassin wanted to sneak into Mr. Cook’s shadow, I hope he wouldn’t get scared...

Loren’s thoughts grew somewhat active, recalling that assassin from the Marquis family of the Dusk Star Domain.

It must be said, that somewhat unlucky assassin almost succeeded in claiming the resurrection opportunity Loren had painstakingly accumulated.

It’s just a pity he chose to carry out the assassination when a spatial-type ability user was present...

At that moment, Cook P. Jones beside him spoke up, interrupting Loren’s reminiscence.

”Let’s go, Mr. Loren, it’s time for us to head to the Beastkin Star Domain...”

--------

Federal Calendar, Year 7708, December 4th, morning.

A tall figure wearing a hat, supporting a somewhat physically weak individual, pried open the tavern door and stealthily entered the ”Illusionary Night’s Dream” tavern located deep in the alley next to the ”Jadeite Gambling City”!

Behind the person who needed support just to walk, followed a large black dog with glossy black fur!

Its expression was clearly somewhat helpless.

Yes, a dog’s face actually displayed a clearly somewhat helpless expression...

Loren supported the somewhat weak Cook P. Jones as they entered the Illusionary Night’s Dream tavern. The two men came to the chairs in front of the bar counter and sat down.

Madam Anna inside the bar counter looked at the two men who had broken in so early in the morning, a trace of peculiarity showing on her face.

”Mr. Cook, and Mr. Destiny, judging from the intelligence I just received, your harvest last night should have been quite substantial. How did you end up in such a sorry state?”

Anna’s tone carried some curiosity.

Facing Anna’s inquiry, Loren and Cook P. Jones, sitting at the bar counter, exchanged a knowing glance. Neither of them spoke...

”An accident, a little accident... hahahaha...” Cook P. Jones’s tone was somewhat awkward.

Hearing this, Loren shot Cook P. Jones an extremely disdainful look.

Then, he silently raised his hand to ask Anna for a drink and began drinking alone in silence beside them...

Putting on an appearance of completely not wanting to discuss the matter.

Seeing Loren’s demeanor, Cook P. Jones also silently ordered a drink from Anna, timely changing the subject.

Clearly, he didn’t want to talk about it either...

It’s worth mentioning that the drink Loren ordered was an ordinary one. With his shareholder status, this drink was free.

But what Cook P. Jones ordered was a ”Dreamlike Night,” the kind worth 500,000 Spirit Stones per glass.

After advancing to the Legendary rank last night, he had finally met the screening criteria to become a shareholder of the Illusionary Night’s Dream tavern...

Anna behind the bar counter, seeing that neither man wanted to discuss last night’s events.

She silently shrugged her shoulders, showed an extremely proper smile on her face, then elegantly turned and left.

She needed to prepare the matters for Cook P. Jones joining the ”Illusionary Night’s Dream” tavern.

Leaving the bar counter, Anna silently covered her mouth, secretly laughing. She thought with some mischief:

”Whatever happened last night must have been very interesting. Even someone as aloof as Mr. Destiny almost suffered a setback...”

As for what happened after the two men decided to withdraw last night.

That has to be told starting from sunrise...

At that time, Loren, Cook P. Jones, and Huck—this duo and a dog—were stealthily moving along the shadows at the edge of the street.

To avoid exposing their tracks, neither man chose the high-profile method of flying to travel, both cautiously opting for the more low-key method of ”walking”...

And the accident occurred at this moment.

The moment the night faded and daylight broke, the shadow behind Cook P. Jones bizarrely and suddenly exploded!

Flowing shadows like ”sludge” instantly covered the entire street!

Of course, some of that ”sludge-like shadow” was splashed onto the coat of Loren, who had a slight case of mysophobia, during the explosion...

Alright, maybe more than just some.

And maybe it wasn’t just splashed onto Loren’s coat. Perhaps other places too...
