I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Although Loren mastered the basic meditation method quite quickly, he also discovered a side effect that came with mastering the meditation method.

Loren always felt that time passed particularly quickly, especially when he entered deep meditation.

He would close his eyes and open them, and several hours would have passed...

At first, he thought it was the formulaic life that made him lose his precise perception of time.

Later, he realized it was because his days were shortened by several hours due to meditation...

However, there was also good news. Along with deep meditation, his mental power was slowly increasing.

Although the mental power gained through meditation was very meager, it was extremely stable.

Loren could finally experience the cultivation speed of an ordinary superhuman. It was an intensely stable sense of solidity, something he had never experienced before...

Uneventful and ordinary, mixed with a hint of certainty, it could make one forget many unnecessary worries and was also the most healing to the heart.

And such peaceful, comfortable days quietly slipped away within Loren’s regular routine...----------

Federal Calendar 7708, November 5th, early morning.

After living through a period of extreme stability and routine, Loren had almost grown accustomed to this uneventful life.

After getting up, Loren habitually went to the door of Lounge 104 as usual and knocked.

He was going to take the little one to the second-floor restaurant for a meal.

Ayla Morningstar opened the door without much enthusiasm, her big eyes wide and watery as she looked at Loren.

Looking at the little one’s expression, Loren suddenly remembered something.

Half a month had already passed since he accepted Marcus Rhine’s commission...

The little one was going to leave...

He would no longer have free, high-end healing, and would return to the days of traveling alone.

Loren placed his hand on Ayla Morningstar’s head and ruffled her hair, not saying much.

”Let’s go, to the restaurant.”

”Okay, Big Brother.”

The little one voluntarily took Loren’s large hand and pulled him toward the stairwell...

Loren followed silently behind, watching her small back, lost in thought.

”Big Brother, I wish you were my father...”

Ayla Morningstar’s voice came from ahead.

”In that case, I would have had to meet your mother first,” Loren said calmly.

Hearing Loren’s words, Ayla Morningstar, who had been feeling down, finally felt a bit better. She turned her head and smiled at Loren.

”Then forget it, I can’t even find my mother myself.”

Loren shrugged silently. He found the little one’s family situation rather difficult to describe.

A mother whose whereabouts were unknown, a father who abandoned everything to join a cult...

”But still better than my own situation, at least they’re alive...” Loren couldn’t help but grumble inwardly.

”Master, your sense of humor is improving more and more,” Raven praised in Loren’s mind.

”......” Thanks to the Interstellar Hunter Forum for that...

Arriving at the second-floor restaurant.

Loren, holding the little one’s hand, skillfully walked to that serving window and, picking her up, jumped inside.

Because he had offended the chef, cautious Loren only felt at ease when he personally witnessed the cooking process.

Thus, under Loren’s daily, fixed ”attention,” the area in front of this serving window had, by default, stopped having glass installed...

The association’s logistics management personnel felt that installing a new pane of glass every day was truly a bit wasteful...

Moreover, the staff member responsible for cleaning the restaurant was tired of sweeping up glass shards and had already complained to the association several times...

The chef inside the window, upon seeing Loren jump in holding the little one, got up with practiced ease, took out the fresh, high-quality ingredients that had just arrived, and prepared to start cooking...

During this, there was not a single word exchanged, nor a single glance shared between the two parties, appearing extremely in sync...

At this moment.

”Chef Uncle, can I have a fruit ice tower? Um... an extra-large portion! With lots of ice!” Ayla Morningstar made a rare request.

20 minutes later.

At a table in the corner of the restaurant, two people and one crow were quietly enjoying their meals.

Loren’s flavored charcoal-grilled steak platter, Raven’s flavored fruit salad, and the little one’s extra-large fruit ice tower.

Their tastes were not the same, but after more than half a month of interaction, that chef had accurately figured out the preferred tastes of Loren’s group.

Loren liked various meats, Raven liked fruit platters, and Ayla Morningstar, influenced by Raven, had gradually come to like fruit with ice...

The chef’s culinary skills had also improved significantly. He had learned how to use simple, fresh ingredients to create extremely delicious food in the shortest time possible.

In the past half month, complaints about the chef within the association had also decreased considerably...

10 minutes later.

Loren and Raven had already finished their meals first.

One person and one crow were quietly watching Ayla Morningstar enjoy her extra-large fruit ice tower.

It was a fruit ice tower as large as a small hill, exaggerated in size, occupying fully half of the table...

”Master, won’t the little one get a stomachache from eating that?” Raven hopped onto Loren’s shoulder and whispered.

”......”

Probably not, the little one’s ability allows her to heal herself... Loren stared at the massive ice tower before him, silently analyzing.

Suddenly, Loren realized something and said calmly:

”No need to rush, eat slowly. I don’t have anything to do today, I can stay with you the whole time.”

”Okay, Big Brother...” The little one’s voice was a bit choked.

Because the massive ice tower blocked Loren’s view, he couldn’t see the little one’s expression on the other side.

Loren sighed silently. Comforting children was indeed troublesome. He would never accept this kind of commission again in the future...

In the corner of the restaurant, neither Loren nor Raven spoke again. Both quietly watched that somewhat majestic fruit ice tower gradually disappear.

A long time later, when the fruit ice tower was only half its original size.

The communicator in Loren’s pocket rang.

He took out the communicator and glanced down at the caller on the screen.

It was the official number of the Interstellar Hunter Association.

”Yes?” Loren answered the communicator.

”Mr. Loren, there is a group of people of unknown origin looking for you. They are waiting for you outside the castle. They claim to have made an agreement with you half a month ago.”

”I understand.”

Loren silently hung up the communicator.

And the little one had also, at some unknown point, stopped eating. She poked her little head out from behind the ice tower, silently looking at Loren.

The people to pick up Ayla Morningstar had arrived.
