I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

”Regarding this question, in my research, there are two directions of speculation.”

”The first direction of speculation is that I believe every rule-based psychic is a miraculous product born from a large base number and an extremely low probability.”

”As is widely known, in the Star Realm, the two most populous races are humans and Abyssal Demons.”

”And Abyssal Demons have great difficulty maintaining their rationality; they don’t even have souls, so naturally, it’s very hard for them to awaken psychic abilities.”

”As for other races, the reason there have been no cases of rule-based psychic abilities is simply because their population base isn’t large enough.”

”The second direction of speculation is that I believe ’rule-based psychic abilities’ are a unique talent of humans because the human soul is rather special...”

”Or perhaps, rule-based psychics themselves are a kind of miracle...”

”As for the reason why their numbers are so scarce!”

”Well, I’ll tell you the real answer right now!!”

”And that is!””Actually, I don’t know either!!!”

”Hahaha, you all got fooled, didn’t you?!”

”I just came to the forum to brag that I’ve already stepped into the Demigod tier!”

”And to spit on those rule-based psychic bastards while I’m at it!!”

”Hahahahaha!”

”Everything I said above was complete nonsense!”

”I already told you all to keep your thinking sharp! Weren’t you listening?? Hahahaha!”

”You didn’t really think someone would discuss extremely secretive stuff in a place like a forum, did you...”

”Come on! Call me Spell Lord! All of you, call me that now!!”

”Are you happy?! Hahaha!”

”Hahahaha, I’m dying of laughter!”

”Thrill-Seekers shall never be enslaved!!!”

Reading up to this point, Loren’s face turned rather unpleasant.

He now understood why this post had such enduring popularity...

Because the forum was full of these kinds of thrill-seekers!

Damn it! No wonder so many big shots who used their real names online would call him a big shot!!

Goddamn it! They were all just playing along with the guy’s trolling!!

The corner of Loren’s eye twitched slightly as he stared at the username ”IfOnlyICouldStartOver,” unable to calm down for a long time.

Interesting. You dare mess with me. I’ve got you marked...

Don’t let me run into you!

You’d better make sure your alternate account never gets exposed!!

After a long silence.

Loren also chose to follow the trend and leave a comment under this answer.

ALuckyPetKeeper: ”Big shot! Such profound insight!”

Can’t let me suffer this alone...

It would be better if others came to taste this bitterness too...

Loren had joined the team playing along, believing he wouldn’t be the last victim...

Putting down the portable computer, Loren turned to look at Raven.

”Stupid bird, remind me later, if we get the chance, I definitely want to cause trouble for someone.”

”Who, Master?” Raven inquired.

”His name is ’IfOnlyICouldStartOver’.”

Raven fell into an eerie silence. A long time later, it finally stared at Loren and said in a low voice:

”...Master, did he troll you too?”

”You too?”

”...Yes.” Raven gave a nod.

The simple-minded Raven now also understood that saying, ”Zero-frame startup and excessively long wind-up animations are the hardest to defend against...”

Then, Loren’s mood improved quite a bit.

He picked up his portable computer again and resumed searching for the question ”How do rule-based psychics advance to Legendary?”

He believed that on this forum, there must be some big shots who weren’t thrill-seekers.

Although the probability was low—even he himself was a thrill-seeker—the Interstellar Hunter Forum was vast. He firmly believed that big shots who only sought to enjoy pure admiration, were erudite, and sincerely shared knowledge did exist...

Federal Calendar 7708, October 25th, noon.

After wasting half a morning, Loren finally gave up on his naive notion.

Throughout the entire morning, Loren still hadn’t found an accurate answer among the many posts on the forum.

During this time, he encountered countless trolling posts again!!

Or rather, in every post about ”rule-based psychics,” he could see that username ”IfOnlyICouldStartOver”!!!

This pure thrill-seeker, single-handedly, derailed every serious discussion thread.

Countless thrill-seekers followed in this big shot’s footsteps, launching large-scale trolling campaigns.

In most posts related to ”rule-based psychics,” this had even become a kind of ”trend,” just like shouting ”The Federation is doomed”!!

With every post Loren finished reading, his face grew a shade darker.

Perhaps because rule-based psychics were too rare, during this time, he didn’t even see one relatively reliable answer.

The more related posts he read, he gradually began to sense something was off.

Even if everyone envied, resented, and hated ”rule-based psychics,” this bizarre ”trend” was just too strange...

Loren’s instincts made him detect the scent of a ”conspiracy.”

Loren stopped the pointless post-reading, and instead took out his Federation Coin.

He stared intently at the coin tossed into the air, simultaneously silently reciting in his mind:

”Someone doesn’t want rule-based psychics to advance to Legendary, deliberately concealing something and implementing a knowledge blockade, right? If yes, heads!”

The coin fell! Heads!

Loren tightly gripped the coin in his hand, a dangerous smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

Good, it’s been a long time since I’ve wanted to kill someone this badly...

Then, Loren tossed the coin again.

”Is the entity behind the username ’IfOnlyICouldStartOver’ an organization? If yes, heads!”

The coin fell, heads!

It was an organization, not an individual’s will!

Loren tilted his head, producing a series of ”crack, crack” sounds from his neck, his eyes half-squinted.

These familiar tactics, and the organization with the standing to do this... he seemed to have a guess...

The coin was tossed again.

”Is the organization implementing the knowledge blockade the Federation? If yes, heads!”

The coin fell! Heads!

Loren smiled.

It’s proven that people do smile when they’re angry.

”Federation, it seems we have one more issue between us...”

After uttering this meaningful, quiet statement to himself, Loren silently exited the post-browsing page.

Combined with Loren’s understanding of the Federation over all these years, he had roughly guessed the Federation’s purpose and methods.

To absorb the majority of powerful individuals, the Federation had woven an invisible net, quietly blocking access to a portion of crucial advancement knowledge.

Furthermore, because the Spirit Stone consumption required for advancing from the Ninth Tier to Legendary was enormous, many psychics, upon reaching this stage, would choose to align themselves with the Federation to attempt the breakthrough to the Legendary tier with the Federation’s support.

As for those superhumans who would choose to pull off a big heist, gathering the Spirit Stones they needed through various means and then advancing to Legendary—those ruthless individuals...

The Federation specifically issued a ”Superhuman Special Management Act” targeting these law-breaking, yet immensely powerful Legendary-level individuals.

It clearly stipulated that these powerful individuals could apply to the Federation for a special pardon...

Under this invisible net, the Federation prepared only four options for these uncontrollable, wild superhumans.

Join the Federation.

Commit a crime, then apply for a special pardon.

Or, after breaking the law, remain a wanted fugitive indefinitely.

And the fourth option: leave the Federation, wander the Star Realm, and seek a breakthrough...
