Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

Chapter 313: Chapter 313: The Cure for the Zombie Virus

”Zombie virus antibodies?” Zhang Yiming was taken aback, ”Is there really someone who can resist the zombie virus?”

Zhang Yiming had thought that Leng Yebai could resist the invasion of the zombie virus.

The fact proved that Leng Yebai’s current appearance was one hundred percent a zombie.

He had once drawn Leng Yebai’s blood but didn’t extract anything useful from it, nor did he find the zombie virus antibodies.

Without antibodies, there is no cure.

”Someone bitten by a zombie doesn’t turn into one; as long as they don’t transform into a zombie within half an hour, it means they resisted the virus.” Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming slowly spoke, ”Even if someone resisted the virus, it doesn’t necessarily mean they have antibodies; it only means that their genes adapted to the virus, and the virus neither won nor lost.”

In the three years before the apocalypse, Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming never stopped thinking about how to become human.

There was a slight breakthrough in the research of a cure.

At least he knew more than those scientists.

Three years after the apocalypse, the light vanished, and his desire to become human faded away.

But the experiments became more frenzied.

His favorite pastime was throwing a group of people into the zombie horde.

Watching them turn into zombies with his own eyes.

Those who were bitten but didn’t turn into zombies were inhumanely dissected and researched by him.

At that time, he had no desire for a cure, only a pure revenge against humanity.

The more painfully humans died, the more gratification he felt.

Always feeling that the more miserable humans died, the more he avenged Xiao Niu.

”Any virus will have antibodies.”

Zhang Yiming furrowed his brows, still unwilling to give up on treatment.

If not Ganmu, he’d take the scientific approach.

There are so many paths; one of them must be the right one.

He wanted to cleanse himself of filth, to turn his blood red.

”Yes, indeed,” Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming rubbed his chin, ”According to my calculations, those who didn’t turn into zombies have no antibodies because they didn’t become a petri dish. As long as the virus stays in the body long enough while maintaining self-awareness throughout, if they can turn back into a human, then it means they have antibodies in their body.”

Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming sighed softly at this point.

”So many people turn into zombies; who knows which minute after being scratched they turn into one!”

Even knowing that, there’s no knowing if he can become human again.

”Becoming a zombie after half an hour and then turning back will produce antibodies?” Zhang Yiming suddenly thought of something.

Leng Yebai.

Leng Yebai didn’t immediately turn into a zombie after being injured, but only after several days of torment did his blood truly turn black.

”Yes, virus antibodies won’t exist in the blood; they can only exist in places where energy gathers. Talking about the difference between humans and zombies, it’s still related to the Crystal Core.”

Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming rubbed his temples.

Because Zhang Yiming ate Ganmu, he could feel the comfort pressing on his temples brought.

Zhang Yiming’s eyes deepened a bit.

The only weakness of a zombie is the head; as long as the head gets injured, true death will come.

The Crystal Core exists in the head.

If antibodies are in the Crystal Core, it seems reasonable.

The Crystal Core acts like a second brain controlling the entire body.

However, if you want to extract the virus antibodies, wouldn’t you have to cut open Leng Yebai’s brain?

”Forget it, you handle the task of finding the virus antibodies!” Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming stood up, ”I still have some unfinished business.”

If he doesn’t eliminate that human organization, he would be unwilling if he somehow accidentally disappeared due to the world’s rules someday.

Having come to this world with her, he must destroy the organization that once hurt her.

He saw Ganmu while searching for a mysterious organization, painstakingly finding his way there.

Unexpectedly, he didn’t become human, only became a zombie with feelings.

Perhaps for the zombie species, a zombie with feelings stands at the pinnacle of existence, an emperor among emperors.

But he would rather be an ordinary human.

Zombie Emperor Zhang Yiming didn’t go looking for Xiao Niu, he just passed by the courtyard gate, listening to the laughter briefly, and then left.

Zhang Yiming closed his eyes, carefully sensing his brain waves.

The brain waves, previously severely damaged, returned to normal again, and the powerful brain waves spread across the village.

This time, the brain waves for him were like his right and left hands.

Flexible and controlled.

Zhang Yiming attempted to breathe, feeling the air flowing down his throat into his lungs.

His long fingers placed on his wrist, even his heart was beating again.

Strong and powerful.

All the organs in his body began working again due to Ganmu.

However, the blood remained black.

From a certain perspective, Ganmu cured his body, treating him as a zombie.

The bloodthirsty and violent thoughts tangled in his mind, showing this wasn’t an illness but a zombie instinct.

Zhang Yiming took heavy breaths, experiencing the breathing, pain, and temperature he once longed for.

All the feelings that others had, he now had, yet he still couldn’t feel happy.

He couldn’t quite understand why vibrant Ganmu treated him as a zombie?

Zhang Yiming looked in the direction of the Bai Family’s courtyard, with a hint of forlornness in his eyes.

Leng Yebai was the person he most wanted to kill, yet also the one he envied the most.

Zhang Yiming rubbed his temples hard, feeling the pain from there, then slowly stood up and walked towards his own courtyard.

The entire village was incredibly quiet; when Zhang Yiming released his brain waves, the zombies trembled more than usual.

They have no consciousness; it’s an instinct belonging to decayed bodies.

At the courtyard’s gate, Xiao Lan Zombie was still standing there.

From afar, it saw Zhang Yiming walking over, one step at a time.

Its dull gaze lingered on him briefly, then immediately withdrew.

Crouched in the doorway, holding its decaying face down like always, waiting for Zhang Yiming to pass by.

Most of the time, Zhang Yiming wouldn’t spare it a glance.

Occasionally, he would glance at it with cold eyes.

When Zhang Yiming looked at zombies, there was only a cold stare.

Even as the Zombie Emperor, he, like a human, despised zombies the most.

The rotting flesh and blood would remind him that his own blood was also black.

It would remind him of his filthy body.

As usual, Xiao Lan Zombie stared blankly at Zhang Yiming’s feet.

Every time, the owner of these feet wouldn’t stop, only continued forward on his own.

But this time,

The deity it revered stopped.

The feet stopped in front of it, very close, seemingly within reach.

The decaying fingers trembled slightly but didn’t dare extend, only bowed its head more devoutly, waiting for the deity’s directive.
