Chapter 926: Chapter 736: A Gentleman Stays Away from the Kitchen—I Want a Gentleman!

Even though Gu Changsheng’s commotion was too loud, Mr. Ban Shan, who went to the Ministry of Rites to inquire about the wedding preparations, heard the commotion as soon as he returned to the traveling palace. He then hurried to the Dining Hall to see what was going on and saw that there were hundreds of dishes spread across dozens of tables, and his adopted daughter was holding chopsticks, poking here and there with a face full of grievances!

After calling over a female official to find out the whole story, Mr. Ban Shan was so angry that his beard curled up. After a long time, he pointed at his adopted daughter and, in exasperation, dropped a comment, ”Incompetent! You two just keep making a fuss and see what kind of mess you’ll end up with!”

After being scolded harshly by her adopted father, Gu Changsheng felt very aggrieved. Was it her fault?

She was actually the victim, wasn’t she?

How come no one understands her life-threatening ordeal?

After causing a fuss, under the moonlit and windy night, as Mr. Ban Shan was resting, a certain evildoer who almost poisoned Gu Changsheng crept into the bed once again as per usual.

And then, he saw a mummy lying stiffly on the bed.

”What’s going on here?” Zhou Mu asked with no small amount of concern.

”Overeaten...” Gu Changsheng stared at the dragon and phoenix embroidery above the bed and spoke the truth.

Jeez, to save her taste buds, she tried a bit of every one of those hundreds of dishes, didn’t she? Even just a little bit adds up, right? That’s still hundreds of bites!

She’s not a gluttonous being that can devour the world; of course she’s stuffed!

On the other hand, she’s lucky to have a wealthy background that could produce all those dishes to save her taste buds; if it had been someone else’s house, they might never know what taste is again!

”You! Your appetite is too small; just one plate of fried rice fills you up. This won’t do. You must eat more going forward.” Zhou Mu hugged the slender, soft body tighter in his arms, pondering that the next day he must make a little more, and slowly but surely, one day his Changsheng will gain some weight.

Yuan Bao said that plump women don’t suffer much when they give birth and raise children...

At this very moment, Gu Changsheng was unaware of Zhou Mu’s inner calculations, nor did she know about his decision. Thus, another peaceful night passed, and early the next morning, Zhou Mu had already climbed over the wall and left before Mr. Ban Shan got up. Although Mr. Ban Shan no longer stopped them from meeting, if the bed-sharing incident reached his ears, chaos would ensue. Better to avoid unnecessary trouble!

After Zhou Mu departed in the morning, Gu Changsheng sent someone to check the Imperial Kitchen to ensure he hadn’t gone to cause any chaos, finally breathing a long sigh of relief—thank goodness, the evildoer had finally forgotten about cooking!

At breakfast time, the breath of relief Gu Changsheng had released was instantly sucked back in when she saw Zhou Mu walking into the Dining Hall with a tray held like precious treasure.

”This is silver ear and coix seed porridge painstakingly brewed by this king, along with Five-spice meat buns personally made by this king.”

Sweeping away the food in front of Gu Changsheng, Zhou Mu proudly displayed his labor’s fruits.

Good grief! Not again!

Gu Changsheng looked at the porridge boiled to an unrecognizable black and the buns, wrapped so haphazardly the dark filling was peeking out, feeling like she was struck by lightning!

After a long while, her lips moved to swallow hard before speaking hesitantly, ”Where...where did you make this?”

She was very sure the evildoer hadn’t messed up her kitchen!

So where did these things come from? Where?

”This king borrowed the kitchen of the Left Prime Minister’s Residence; frankly, the kitchen there is really small, this king couldn’t fully utilize his skills!” Thinking of the ”cramped” kitchen at the Right Prime Minister’s House, Zhou Mu was very dissatisfied, almost failing to complete the task, delaying the breakfast.

If his Changsheng’s stomach had been left hungry, he surely would have taken the Left Prime Minister’s head as a ball to kick!

Upon hearing this, Gu Changsheng knew that the Left Prime Minister’s kitchen was essentially no more!

For heaven’s sake, the Left Prime Minister might have a relatively small kitchen, but that’s compared to the Imperial Kitchen and her traveling palace’s rear kitchen, right?

Poor Left Prime Minister did nothing wrong, yet got caught in this unwarranted disaster!

And for her, the disaster was even worse! Not only did she have to eat the evildoer’s love poison, but she also became everyone’s ”brave warrior”.

Gu Changsheng had no doubt that with the evildoer’s borrowing of the Left Prime Minister’s Residence’s kitchen, Zhou Mu’s venture into cooking would definitely become widespread...

No other choice, with the previous day’s scene replaying, Gu Changsheng under Zhou Mu’s expectant gaze, resignedly ate the porridge and buns on the table!

This time, she was really stuffed!

Because the portion was a bit too big! And the taste was still as ”ecstasy-inducing” as ever!

Gu Changsheng swore she would never drink silver ear and coix seed porridge again in her life, nor eat Five-spice meat buns!

After breakfast, Zhou Mu finally left, much to Gu Changsheng’s relief; once he was gone, the traveling palace descended into chaos once again!

After a long while, a thoroughly tormented and feeble Gu Changsheng clutched her stomach and fiercely ordered, ”Someone! Keep gentlemen out of the kitchen, do whatever it takes, you must make your son-in-law a gentleman, absolutely keep him from the kitchen! I want gentleman! Gentleman!”

”Your Majesty...this is a bit challenging! But I will do my utmost!” The female official was troubled; in fact, all it took was a word from her majesty telling the son-in-law his cooking tasted like poison to solve it, wouldn’t you?

Gu Changsheng choked on her words, truly kneeling before the evildoer’s confidence; honestly, why couldn’t he taste his own cooking? Making it so she couldn’t bear to pour cold water on his passion...
