Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

As Karl laid unmoving on the ground, his eyes stayed focused on the small black clad figure that had appeared before him.

As he was not able to move his body anymore, he was unable to say anything to this figure. But he did not forget to show this person his intentions of not surrendering by glaring at him with all his might.

But currently in his powerless state, the value of this glare was the same as him, zero. It was clear that this person did not care about him at all.

”Hmph. Instead of using cheap and cowardly tricks like poison, if this person had fought me directly, there is no way I would have been defeated.” Karl thought.

It was astonishing that someone with the profession of an assassin had this kind of thinking. Why in the hell would an assassin try to fight someone directly. But that was the type of person who Karl was.

After checking the antidote pill for some time, the black knight finally came toward him. If Karl could, he would have loved to put his sword through this person at this moment but unfortunately he could do nothing but to glare at him powerlessly.

After coming to him, the black knight took out some ropes and started to tie his hands and feet. Karl had already realised that this person wanted to capture him alive so tying him up was the natural choice.

As the hands of the knight touched his body, Karl did not feel that these hands belonged to a powerful knight. They were way too soft for that.

In that case, he guessed that this person was probably very young. But if someone so young could become a knight, then this person is without a doubt a genius.

If that was truly the case then Karl could not think about any reason why such a genius would come to a backwater territory like this.

Even if this person was not a noble or even a criminal, still many powerful noble families would do everything they could to recruit him. So there was no reason for such a talented knight to come to this place.

Even if this person was actually in love with the little noble lady, he should have no trouble in forcefully taking her if he started working for a duke family or even directly for the crown.

As Karl was thinking all this, the dark knight was done tying him up. Then this person simply picked his much larger body on his shoulder and started walking.

Even though the black knight was not having any trouble carrying karl because of his strength, his large structure was still a problem. Especially because the black knight himself was quite small.

So after some time, instead of carrying him, the black knight started to just drag him on the ground.

In any other situation Karl might have tried to use the friction of the ground to cut the ropes tying him, but with his body still unable to move at all, he was powerless to do anything.

This black knight carried him not toward the Souran Village that he had expected but toward another part of the forest. Soon a very well hidden cave appeared before him.

The inside of this cave had several things essential for a human to live here. It looked like this cave was a hidden base that this black knight had created in this forest.

There was a chair in the cave and Karl was soon tied to it. This time, even more ropes were used to tie his body. Even if he currently had his knight’s strength available, it would be extremely hard for him to break free from these ropes.

After making sure that he was completely immobilised, the black knight before him took down the hood covering his face and the clothing used to cover the mouth. As soon as that happened, Karl’s eyes widened and his mind almost went blank.

...

After finally capturing the enemy who was the reason for all the danger that she was sensing, Weiss did not take him to the castle and instead took him to a hidden base that she had created just a few days ago.

It was a large cave located in a very good hidden spot. Previously a tiger was using this place as his home but after Weiss had found it, she got rid of the tiger and took this place as her own.

She did not actually kill the tiger and instead it was taken to the castle by her after she had beaten it unconscious.

This tiger was not a true monster beast but it was actually very close to becoming one. Even though Weiss had read a little bit about how a regular beasts could turned into a monster beasts, there was no explanation about the process itself and the reasons behind it.

That was why Weiss was currently doing an experiment to properly observe the process. The tiger was not the only beast present in the castle who was close to becoming a monster beast.

There were three more and Weiss was keeping an close eye on all of them. If Weiss could find a method to actively turn regular beasts into monster one, then that would be extremely helpful to her.

As for this previous home of the tiger, Weiss had turned it into a secret hideout of hers. She was planning to use this place to hide secret prisoners from prying eyes.

Only Weiss was aware of the existence of this place and she had not told anyone else about it. Not even the butler Robin and the maids.

Now this place would became the residence of this rat that had infiltrated her territory for some time. As for how long, Weiss was not sure. It depended on how strong this person’s willpower and pain tolerance was.

After taking him to the cave hideout and tying him on the chair, Weiss finally took off the hood and the cloth used to cover her face.

Weiss was not very fond of wearing these kind of things. As she was a speed based fighter with very powerful senses, having these kind of clothing and so many things covering her sensory organs was very restrictive.

But Weiss needed to hide her identity for the time being, so she was doing everything that was necessary if she wanted to remain cautious.

Actually, Weiss could have defeated the infiltrator easily even in direct combat with her mid level knight’s strength.

But still she decided to used hit and run tactics to defeat this person as that was the most risk free method.

After taking off her head hood, Weiss took out a medicine and made the man to drink it. It was a low quality antidote for the poison that she had used on him.

This antidote would not cure his paralyse perfectly but would at least give him enough mobilty back so that he would be able to move his mouth to speak at least.

Just as Weiss was about to start her interrogation session with her first question, suddenly the man started shouting.

Weiss had expected him to do so and guessed that he was going to curse at her which was something Weiss did not care about at all.

But instead of saying what Weiss had expected, the man said something that Weiss had not expected at all.

”Young Mistress, I will apologies for intruding in your domain by becoming your loyal servant for life. Please forgive me and spare my life. I will also tell you everything I know about your enemies. So please, spare my life.”
