World of Superpowers: Kill monsters to explode skills

15: Campus 2The large iron gate began to slowly open to both sides, gradually revealing a space wide enough for two people to pass through side by side.

This opening seemed to invite people into the unknown school, making one want to explore its mysteries.

The old man walked out of the doorway with slow but firm steps.

Although his posture was somewhat hunched, his eyes were still bright and piercing.

His face was etched with the marks of time, each wrinkle seemingly telling a story.

”You must be the new teachers. I am the Principal of this school.”

The old man’s gaze swept over everyone present, as if observing each person’s reaction and expression; he seemed to want to understand these people through this method.

”Come with me, I’ll take you to the office to introduce your work in detail.”

The old man turned and led the way through the main gate, his steps slow but very steady.

Everyone exchanged glances, and very rationally, they did not protest the old man’s decision, following his steps into the main gate.

The moment everyone stepped through the large iron gate, it suddenly closed with a loud bang.

Everyone was startled, turning to look at the tightly shut iron gate. Some showed expressions of fear, while others were unconcerned, seemingly not too surprised by the event.

The old man turned and smiled briefly at everyone before turning back, seemingly unfazed by the sound of the gate, and continued to lead them forward.

A young man with a buzz cut couldn’t help but mutter, ”It’s just a school, why make it so eerie?”

”You don’t actually think this is an ordinary school, do you?” a woman said mockingly.

A hint of a disdainful smile played on her face, as if mocking the young man’s naivety and ignorance.

The buzz-cut young man’s face flushed, and he said somewhat awkwardly, ”I was just saying that casually!”

The woman gave him a contemptuous look and didn’t bother to respond further.

Upon entering the campus, the first thing that came into view was a straight path, and looking forward along the path, an eight-story building stood quietly there. The building’s exterior was painted white, and some windows glowed with a pure white light, vaguely revealing people studying inside.

On both sides of the path were lush green lawns, the blades of grass seemingly shimmering with an emerald luster under the sunlight.

Along both sides of the path, at regular intervals, an unknown species of tree was planted, adding a mysterious and ancient atmosphere to the campus.

There were also brand new black iron streetlights on both sides of the road, without a trace of rust, as if they had just been made.

The surrounding environment was peaceful and quiet, as if one had truly returned to the vibrant campus days; however, Shi Yan detected a subtle sense of unease.

He looked around, everything on campus seemed too perfect, as if constrained by an invisible rule.

The branches and leaves of the small trees were too regular, as if meticulously pruned, and the grass on the lawn was like a copy-paste, each blade growing perfectly alongside the path.

Moreover, although the campus building in the distance was brightly lit, the surroundings were unusually quiet, without a single sound, and this silence made people feel somewhat uneasy and fearful.

At this point, looking at the originally peaceful and beautiful surroundings, it suddenly gave off an eerie feeling.

The people around obviously noticed this too, for instance, the woman who had previously spoken mockingly now had a grim expression, her brows tightly furrowed, her breathing slightly hurried, and her left foot stepped back, ready to bolt at any moment.

Shi Yan calmly shook his head slightly; from the overall task of observing them, Shi Yan believed that the difficulty would not be too high at the beginning.

The others also seemed to realize this, and slowly relaxed. Their tightly furrowed brows gradually loosened, and their tense expressions slowly faded.

Everyone followed the Principal slowly into the eight-story building at the end of the path; the entire building was silent.

Everyone continued to follow the Principal, walking through long corridors and past many classrooms with closed doors.

Each classroom door had a piece of paper affixed to it, listing the course and the teacher’s name for that classroom, and in the teacher’s spot, there was also a photo whose face was unclear.

Everyone finally stopped in an office on the fifth floor. The Principal stopped and turned to face them.

”I need you to serve as homeroom teachers for two days. Each of you will be responsible for one class, and the classes you are responsible for have already been posted for you.”

The Principal pointed to a form on the side wall of the office.

”Those children are not bad by nature. I hope you can teach them well. Thank you very much.”

The Principal stood before everyone, his face bearing a serious and profound expression, speaking clearly word by word, and then, he bowed deeply to everyone.

Everyone quickly exchanged polite remarks.

”The Principals Office is on the far right of the eighth floor. You can come find me if you have any matters.”

The Principal nodded, then turned and left.

After the Principal left, the few of them began to discuss.

”This task doesn’t seem difficult at all. It’s just teaching some students; we can just muddle through it.”

The buzz-cut young man from before spoke up.

”Heh, if only it were that simple.”

The woman who had previously mocked the buzz-cut young man spoke in a contemptuous tone.

”I also don’t think this task will be that simple.”

A calm voice rang out.

Shi Yan ignored the conversations around him, walked to the class schedule, and began to examine it carefully. The others also stopped their discussion and came over to examine it.

There were a total of three grades: freshman, sophomore, and junior, with 10 classes corresponding to each grade, exactly one for each person.

”Sophomore Class One.”

This was the class Shi Yan was responsible for.

Shi Yan walked down the corridor in the teaching building, looking out at the plastic playground, the flagpole, and on the other side of the playground, there was also a cafeteria and dormitories.

Putting aside the strange feeling it had given Shi Yan before, this school was completely like an ordinary school.
