World of Superpowers: Kill monsters to explode skills

14: Campus 1There were also many posts about teaching and basic knowledge in the forum, but none of them were useful to Shi Yan.

Inside a dark, damp cave, the ceiling was covered with all sorts of strange, oddly shaped stone spikes. Dozens of bizarre human figures in black robes surrounded a dark altar. The altar was carved with complex blood-red patterns, and four stone pillars, capable of holding items, stood around it. Three of the pillars were already filled with items.

A person in a red robe stood in the center of the black-robed figures and slowly turned around.

A middle-aged man with blood-red hair and eyes slowly appeared before everyone. A grotesque scar stretched from his right eye to his chin.

“How are the thirty portions of nascent ability user blood prepared?” the man slowly asked.

“My Lord, we are just six portions short of completion, but yesterday, one of my direct disciples died in Xingyang City.”

“Oh? The Dark Realm Rift can be opened with just this last sacrifice. At such a critical moment, no mistakes are allowed. Shadow One, go personally to harvest that location.”

“Yes!”

A person whose face was hidden beneath the black robe spoke.

“The rest of you, redouble your efforts and search for the blood.”

“Yes!”

The remaining people responded in unison.

Outside the window, the sun was bright, and the sounds of cars echoed.

Shi Yan was currently sitting on the sofa, his sparse hair slightly obscuring his eyes. He continuously clicked the remote control, switching between different movie channels.

Suddenly, a news report caught Shi Yan’s eye: “Recently, there have been multiple murder cases in Xingyang City. We urge the general public not to go out at night to prevent unforeseen incidents. Our Security Department is rapidly pursuing the suspects.” A woman said sternly.

Shi Yan narrowed his eyes. Behind the news report were blurred images. Although the pictures were pixelated, they still conveyed the gruesomeness of the scene.

“If I remember correctly, this city seems to be Xingyang City.”

“Heh heh, pray you don’t seek death.”

Shi Yan looked at it and then dismissed it from his mind. Xingyang City was so big, with so many people, how could he coincidentally encounter it? Even if he did, he wouldn’t know who was killing whom.

Shi Yan continued to watch TV. Time slowly passed, and the sky gradually darkened.

Shi Yan opened his system panel to check. He was about to enter a dungeon again. It was said that a true mission system could be unlocked at Level 4.

Shi Yan’s thin lips curled slightly. He could start hunting again soon. This period had been incredibly boring.

When the system’s dungeon countdown ended, Shi Yan’s vision flickered. Even with Shi Yan’s eyesight, he didn’t feel anything happen.

When his vision cleared again, Shi Yan had appeared in a pristine white space.

“Matching dungeon randomly…”

After a loading sequence, Shi Yan’s vision flickered, and he appeared at the entrance of a school. The entire school covered an extremely vast area; standing at the entrance and looking to either side, one couldn’t see its end.

There were dozens of people around Shi Yan, both male and female.

Each person’s face held a serious expression. At this moment, the system panel suddenly popped up.

“Main Mission: Serve as a teacher and instruct students for two days.”

“Player-on-player killing is prohibited in this dungeon.”

Shi Yan was stunned when he saw the last line. This dungeon actually prohibited players from killing each other. It was truly strange; there had been no such restriction before.

The others also seemed to have noticed this point. The players who were initially wary of each other slightly relaxed their guard, and the surrounding cold atmosphere gradually eased.

The school gate was about fifteen meters high, entirely composed of iron bars. These iron bars were a strange, vivid red. The overall style resembled a prison gate.

The large iron gate was now old, with the marks of time etched onto its mottled bars. Standing at the iron gate, with each breath, there was a pungent smell of rust mixed with paint.

Behind the gate’s bars stood an old man in a suit. The old man had a full head of white hair and a face full of wrinkles, wearing a smile. His eyes and face exuded a sense of peace and harmony.

Shi Yan looked at the old man, his eyes slightly narrowed, because he saw the number floating above the old man.

“Level 8!”

The large iron gate suddenly began to open slowly to both sides. The sound of the wheels beneath the iron gate rubbing against the ground was piercing, like fingernails scraping rust, giving one goosebumps.
