Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1225: Chapter 808: Exotic Fire and Strange Water

As they spoke, the two of them descended to the bottom of the lake, beginning their first treasure hunt.

”Is this a type of Spirit Grass?” Yu Qingyi dug up a slender aquatic plant and asked Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan took the aquatic plant and examined it carefully, ”Hmm, this grass is rich in Spiritual Energy, it should be a First Rank Top Grade Spirit Grass, but I’m not sure what effects it has!”

There are countless types of Spirit Grass and Spiritual Medicine, and it’s natural that Yang Zhenshan couldn’t recognize them all, as nobody in this world could know every Spirit Grass and Spiritual Medicine.

However, that doesn’t matter, as a basic skill of an Alchemist is identifying the properties of herbs.

What properties a herb possesses, what effects it has, in which Elixir it can be used, etc., these are all subjects an Alchemist studies.

And Elixir Recipes are not set in stone, involving dozens or even hundreds of herbs, and sometimes it’s hard for an Alchemist to gather them all, so substituting other herbs for the ones on the Elixir Recipe is quite common.

As long as the main herb and a few crucial auxiliary herbs remain unchanged, the Elixir produced is still the same kind, but with slight differences in effect.

Some Elixirs don’t even have a recipe, and their refining depends entirely on the Alchemist’s skill.

So Yang Zhenshan didn’t bother too much about the use of these unfamiliar Spirit Grass; as long as it’s Spirit Grass, it’s fine.

He directly tossed the Spirit Grass into Moon Bay, allowing it to grow freely, as it might be useful in the future, even if not now.

Although such action doesn’t bring immediate benefits to the Spirit Source Land, it can enhance the foundation of the Spirit Source Land.

Yang Zhenshan wanted more than just a Spirit Grass; he wanted Spirit Grass and Spiritual Medicine that could continually reproduce.

Every additional type of Spirit Grass that can reproduce in the Spirit Source Land adds to its foundation.

In the future, this foundation will inevitably become a resource for the development and growth of the Spirit Source Land.

There were many Spirit Grass at the lake bottom, most of which were First-Order and there were some Second-Order ones as well.

As for the Mutant Beasts, Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi’s conspicuous roaming at the lake bottom naturally attracted many hidden Mutant Beasts’ attacks.

However, these Mutant Beasts, having lost the water they depend on, found their combat power significantly reduced.

Yang Zhenshan manipulated the Green Glow Sword and, in no time, killed a dozen Mutant Beasts.

”There’s a spring here, seems quite akin to the Spiritual Spring!” Yu Qingyi said as he approached a waterhole.

”Indeed, this is a Spiritual Spring,” Yang Zhenshan observed the spring water bubbling in the waterhole, not surprised.

The lake’s water wasn’t ordinary but infused with Spiritual Energy, not much inferior to the Spiritual Spring Water of Spirit Source Land.

Ordinary lake water could never nurture such a wealth of Spirit Grass and Mutant Beasts.

The two continued their search, and after about a quarter-hour, a gleam appeared in Yang Zhenshan’s eyes.

”Found it!”

He leaped forward, eyes fixed on a waterhole ahead.

”Be careful!” Yu Qingyi suddenly warned.

Yang Zhenshan sensed something unusual too, halting his charge and placing his black shield to his left.

With a thud, a strange fish crashed into the black shield.

The powerful impact made the shield vibrate constantly.

Yet in the next moment, a streak of green light pierced through the strange fish’s head.

The lake was teeming with these thorn-covered strange fish, which Yang Zhenshan had already slain by the dozen.

While Yang Zhenshan was dealing with the strange fish, another dozen emerged from the mud, darting toward him.

Yang Zhenshan retreated while maneuvering the Green Glow Sword to penetrate the strange fishes’ heads.

The combat power of these strange fish wasn’t strong, nor did they have any special abilities; they were just quite sturdy. If they were in water, Yang Zhenshan would usually avoid them.

However, with the lake drained, their speed and strength had diminished.

This made it manageable for Yang Zhenshan to handle them.

Within a few breaths, the Green Glow Sword had already pierced through more than a dozen strange fish’s heads.

Yang Zhenshan didn’t bother collecting the strange fish carcasses; instead, he swiftly headed for the waterhole ahead.

This waterhole wasn’t large, only the size of a basin, holding just a basin’s worth of water.

However, the water was different, the petite waterhole was a deep blue, exuding a refreshing and gentle aura, with its surface serene and unruffled, resembling a Crystal Stone more than water.

”What is this?” Yu Qingyi inquired.

”A Water Attribute Spiritual Object, must be some kind of Miracle Water!” Yang Zhenshan didn’t recognize it, but knew it was certainly valuable.

Because this small basin of water contained exceedingly intense Spiritual Energy.

Exotic Fire and Strange Water are Spiritual Objects birthed by nature, like that wisp of True Sun Fire within the Furnace of Eight Trigrams, a type of Exotic Fire.

Such Exotic Fire and Strange Water are exceedingly rare globally, and had it not been for the Golden Crow informing him about True Sun Fire, Yang Zhenshan wouldn’t have known such wondrous things existed.

A single wisp of True Sun Fire can create a Mid-grade Spiritual Treasure.

Thus, this small basin of Miracle Water could very likely produce a Water Attribute Spiritual Treasure as well.

Upon careful observation, Yang Zhenshan found the Miracle Water to be very gentle, without any violent aura.

After a moment’s hesitation, Yang Zhenshan gingerly scooped up the Miracle Water.

Holding it felt more like cradling a blob of jelly than water.

Just by holding it, Yang Zhenshan felt his Mana within him throbbing, rising fervently.
