Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 449: Chapter 425 Innate Realm, Spatial Changes_2

Is there wind in the Spiritual Spring Space now?

He lifted his head to look at the sky, which was still a vast expanse of white. There were no sun, moon, stars, nor were there clouds or mist.

Outside the space, it was no longer a void of darkness, but had turned grayish-white.

Although it still looked monotonous, there was now some color.

At this moment, Yang Zhenshan’s mind stirred again, and he hurried to the stone pool.

The stone pool had grown larger!

Originally only a cubic zhang wide, the stone pool had now expanded to three cubic zhang, resembling a small pond.

In the center of the pond, there was a spring gushing continuously.

The output of the Spiritual Spring had also increased.

But what surprised Yang Zhenshan the most was not the gushing spring, but the tender green sprouts appearing in the pond.

Yang Zhenshan counted them; there were twelve sprouts around the spring.

He was sure that he hadn’t planted these sprouts, as the stone pool used to be so small, he had never thought of planting anything in it.

That meant these twelve sprouts were intrinsic to the Spiritual Spring Space.

Looking at these sprouts, they seemed to be lotuses, but what variety they were and what effects they had, Yang Zhenshan did not know.

However, products from this space must be extraordinary.

These lotuses were definitely treasures.

Yang Zhenshan was delighted and observed carefully.

Unfortunately, the sprouts were too small, and he could not discern much.

Later, he walked around the space, but what followed was a headache.

The space had expanded so much, it couldn’t all be left empty.

But it was clearly impossible for Yang Zhenshan to cultivate these lands.

He didn’t have so much leisure to farm in the space.

He had already allowed the fruit trees to grow freely before, and surely, he would let more vegetation grow freely in the space in the future.

However, he planned to re-plan the Spiritual Spring Space.

The previous plans were no longer suitable for the current Spiritual Spring Space, with the medicinal field too small, fruit garden too disordered, and tea plants scattered everywhere, becoming increasingly disorganized.

Yang Zhenshan decided to move the small courtyard to the hillside, which currently occupied only a corner of the space, roughly ten plus mu, but which was bound to expand further.

The slope of the hillside was very gentle, and building several houses would be no problem.

Moreover, watering on the hillside was inconvenient, making it suitable for constructing buildings.

Since he couldn’t afford to cut down the originally planted herbs and fruit trees, he only planned to re-plan on the additional land.

Around the hill slope would be used as a Medicinal Field, specifically for planting precious crops.

A separate area would be designated as a tea garden, and the orchard could also be divided, with peach, apricot, pear, and date trees, etc., trying to keep only one type of fruit tree in each section.

Yang Zhenshan took out paper and pen and spent half a day sketching and planning.

However, there was still a large empty space left in the end. He thought about it and decided to plant some common flowers and plants on this empty land, scattering some seeds and letting them grow as they will.

There was no helping it, the space was simply too large at the moment, and he couldn’t manage every part of it.

Although he had made a plan, Yang Zhenshan only roughly sketched it out, and his subsequent actions would be quite spontaneous.

But even being spontaneous, it still required him to spend quite a lot of time.

Therefore, in the following days, Yang Zhenshan was busy every night in the Spiritual Spring Space.

It happened that Yu Qingyi was not around during this period, so he had time at night.

If he waited for Yu Qingyi to return, spending late nights cultivating in the space instead of sleeping with his wife would be absurd.

As days passed, Yang Zhenshan first built a small courtyard on the hillside.

He erected five wooden huts, which, though very simple, looked decent enough.

Five wooden huts were definitely not enough, but more could be built slowly in the future.

As for planting trees and herbs, the space had a lot of seeds stored. Yang Zhenshan scattered the seeds according to his earlier plan and then waited for them to naturally germinate and grow.

However, he still took meticulous care of the Treasure Medicines.

Especially the Golden Blood Vine, which takes five years to become medicinal and thirty years to become a treasure, growing just one inch each year.

The Golden Blood Vine in the space had been planted for more than ten years and now it was over thirty inches long; indeed, ten years of growth in the space was almost equivalent to thirty years outside.

This meant the Golden Blood Vine in the space could now be considered a Treasure Medicine.

And others like ginseng, moon star, and Hundred-Colored Flower, many had already grown into Treasure Medicines or were about to become so.

Yang Zhenshan did not need these Treasure Medicines for himself, but they could be useful for the descendants of the Yang family, so he still treated these medicines with great care.

While Yang Zhenshan was busy with the official duties of Chongshan Town during the day and cultivating in the Spiritual Spring Space at night, time unconsciously arrived at mid-April.

April was the season when everything in Chongshan Town grew wildly, marking the beginning of a busy year for everyone.

Spring plowing had started; military and farming households, for the sake of their livelihood, toiled hard in the fields.

The various levels of government offices in Chongshan Town were also busy with plans already made.

The Inspector General’s Office dispatched officials to inspect the spring plowing in various places. The Governor’s Office was busy gathering laborers, making final preparations for the construction of Black Cloud City. The Governor’s Office was also making final preparations for mobilizing military households to clear Ying River.

Pang Tang and the Governor’s Office were busy selling the wasteland under Black Cloud Mountain and the future shops and residences of Black Cloud City. Initially, everyone scoffed at this, but after Yang Zhenshan had the Marquis Mansion and the Luo family buy some wasteland, many landlords and merchants in Chongshan Pass could not resist joining in.

Inside Chongshan Pass, the Marquis Mansion and the Luo family were barometers of trend, and many people believed that following them was definitely right.

Although the wasteland under Black Cloud Mountain and the future shops and residences in Black Cloud City were not very hot, they had still managed to raise over one hundred thousand taels of silver for Pang Tang.

Including the two hundred thousand taels of silver previously given by Yang Zhenshan, the initial construction funds for Black Cloud City were quite sufficient.

Meanwhile, Yang Zhenshan and the General Mansion were busy clearing the channel of Ying River and training the Camp.

Under the guidance of Yang Zhenshan and Pang Tang, the entire Chongshan Pass entered into a lively and busy state, as if everyone was working hard for Chongshan Pass.

Of course, this is not to say that all the officials in Chongshan Pass were good; in fact, every place has its share of corrupt officials.

But the overall environment also impacts corrupt officials.

Yang Zhenshan was cultivating such an environment, getting everyone busy, making sure everyone had something to do, making everyone responsible for their actions.

Thus, even if some thought of making money illicitly, they would have to complete their work before attempting to do so.

Corrupt officials making money is not scary; what’s terrifying is officials who only make money without doing their jobs.

As long as the officials got their jobs done, Yang Zhenshan would turn a blind eye to their schemes of making money.

After all, he could not expect all officials to be upright and honest.

Of course, sometimes it was necessary to make an example of a few to set authority and warn the corrupt ones.
