Chaotic Sword God

When he heard the Black Heaven Master mention getting the entire Black Demon Palace to join, Jian Chen’s eyes immediately lit up. “Black Heaven Master, please forgive me for asking this, but how many Immortal Emperors does the Black Demon Palace have in total?”

The Black Heaven Master furrowed his brows slightly as if he had never expected a question like this from Jian Chen, but he still replied, “Over twenty in total!”

As a peak organisation that had multiple Immortal Exalts and their strongest expert was even a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, possessing over twenty Immortal Emperors was basically up to standard.

Jian Chen became tempted. He only had nine Immortal Emperors with him right now. If he could rope in the Black Demon Palace, then the number of Immortal Emperors would directly rise above thirty.

Jian Chen held back this temptation and clasped his fist. “Black Heaven Master, there is something that you’re right about. Even if the Black Demon Palace got involved, I won’t be able to completely change my current situation, as I don’t have the power to fend off Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts for the time being.”

When he reached there, Jian Chen paused as his eyes shone with a strange colour. He said in guarantee, “But as long as Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts don’t get involved, then I’ll be able to maneuvre around in front of any kind of opponent.”

The Divine Formation of the Heavens’ current strength was already on par with Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts. If he had the three Immortal Exalts, over twenty Immortal Emperors, and the several dozen Immortal Monarchs of the Black Demon Palace, the formation would definitely grow substantially in power. Perhaps he could not fend off Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, but he would be able to contend against Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts at the very least.

The Black Heaven Master glared at him and said in exasperation, “You’re really thinking of getting our Black Demon Palace to join you? I’ll tell you loudly and clearly that it’s impossible. Don’t even think about it. Even if you already possess the terrifying power to contend against heavenly emperors, let alone Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, our Black Demon Palace will never get involved in this mess.”

“The legacy and lineage of our Black Demon Palace stands above all else. If we get involved with the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, our Black Demon Palace will face destruction at any moment.”

“The Sword Sect of Violet Heavens is attached to too many matters. It’s not something that our Black Demon Palace can get involved with.”

Jian Chen looked at Xue Shuangyue and said sternly, “Fellow Xue Ji, I formally extend an invitation to you as the master of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. I hope you can return to the sect, as the sect right now is in desperate need of experts like you.”

“Jian Chen, Shuangyue’s strength is well below yours. You are harming her.” The Black Heaven Master sighed gently. There was no anger or fury in his voice, only a sense of helplessness.

“Senior, I know you’re very worried about fellow Xue Ji. However, if the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens truly wants to be restored, I alone am not enough. I need the assistance of even more disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. Perhaps this will endanger fellow Xue Ji, but I can guarantee you that if one day, the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens really faces the misfortune of destruction, I will definitely be the one to die first.” Jian Chen stressed his words, demonstrating his determination that even triumphed over death.

Afterwards, he looked at Xue Shuangyue with shining eyes. His gaze gradually sharped. “Of course, you’re welcome to decline as well, fellow Xue Ji. If you refuse, I won’t force it on you. I’ll leave immediately, and I won’t disturb you ever again.”

“Fellow Xue Ji, I want to know your decision now.”

Xue Shuangyue’s gaze flickered rapidly, filled with struggle and hesitation. From time to time, a sense of determination would appear in her gaze as if she wanted to cast aside all qualms and do what she had always wanted to do.

But shortly afterwards, she would think of something, and she would begin to hesitate again.

“Shuangyue… Sigh…” The Black Heaven Master looked at Xue Ji gently and painfully as if he wanted to say something, but it ultimately turned into a lengthy sigh.

The two of them had spent so many days and nights together, so how could the Black Heaven Master not understand Xue Shuangyue’s heart? Xue Shuangyue had already changed her appearance and severed her past, even becoming one of the great elders of the Black Demon Palace.

But in reality, she had never forgotten about her past sect. She held feelings that she was unable to drop. Even after a million years, it was unable to wash away the sense of connection that lay buried in the bottom of her heart.

That was why she had always been assisting the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens silently over all these years. Even though it was not much, it was enough to see her intentions.

“You have a sovereign god artifact on you?” After a moment of silence, Xue Shuangyue suddenly asked Jian Chen.

Jian Chen nodded. This had stopped being a secret a long time ago.

“Are the disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens all inside the sovereign god artifact?” Xue Shuangyue continued.

“That’s right!”

“I want to take a look at the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens right now,” said Xue Shuangyue.

Jian Chen smiled gently. “Let me get the artifact spirit to send you inside. Don’t resist.”

Xue Shuangyue immediately felt a suction force appear from thin air. The force was not powerful. She could easily break free from it with her strength as an Immortal Emperor, but she did not resist it.

In the next moment, Xue Shuangyue vanished, having entered the Primeval Divine Hall already.

“Senior, would you like to go in and take a look too?” Jian Chen then looked at the Black Heaven Master.

The Black Heaven Master shook his head. A hint of wariness flashed through the depths of his eyes. This was a sovereign god artifact. Once he entered it, he would be put at a disadvantage.

Elder Nong also returned to the Primeval Divine Hall. Jian Chen manifested inside the Primeval Divine Hall as a wisp of his soul, condensing an illusionary figure that personally led the way. He toured the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens with Xue Shuangyue. All of the disciples he encountered along the way bowed towards him respectfully. Their eyes were filled with fervour and admiration.

In the eyes of many of the disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, Jian Chen had already become a god-like existence.

In the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, Xue Shuangyue’s eyes were filled with reminiscence and mixed feelings. She traversed each mountain at a steady pace and crossed rivers after rivers. Her face was filled with emotion and sighs.

“Compared to the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens in the past, there has indeed been an overwhelming change. In the recent years, the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens has indeed become much more powerful under your leadership,” said Xue Shuangyue. She smiled gently. It seemed that seeing the changes that the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens had gone through put her in a much better mood.

“I heard you emptied out the entire Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants?”

“Yeah. Most of what you see is an offering from the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants.” Jian Chen smiled gently.

“But this is all nothing. C’mon, I’ll show you the real foundations of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.”

Afterwards, Jian Chen brought Xue Shuangyue to where the Divine Formation of the Heavens was set up.

As soon as they reached there, a swirl of spiritual Qi gathered from the surroundings. This was a phenomenon created from several tens of thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals absorbing the spiritual Qi of the world.

Even though she had already heard that Jian Chen had several tens of thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals, when Xue Shuangyue truly saw fifty thousand of them sitting before her, she was still unable to hide her shock.

She struggled to imagine how Jian Chen had managed to assemble fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals.

There was not a single peak organisation in the Immortals’ World that would produce fifty thousand Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals.

“This is the formation you possess?” Xue Shuangyue glanced past the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals and immediately recognised that they sat in a particular order, assembling a profound formation.

From even further away, she could sense the presence of a few Immortal Emperors.

Jian Chen nodded and sighed. “This is the Divine Formation of the Heavens, the protective formation from the Observance Heaven City. It is a Grand Exalt’s formation, but we can’t unleash its full power due to insufficient numbers. Currently, it is only equivalent to a regular Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.”

“When I invited you to join the sect, it was actually to strengthen this formation. Only if this formation grows in power will our Sword Sect of Violet Heavens become even more confident in our power.”
