Chaotic Sword God

In the discussion hall, the great elder who remained behind to accompany him spoke incessantly, introducing some of the glorious history and startling events of the Black Demon Palace. As he mentioned these fascinating matters, he could not help but show great pride.

“Oh right, and there’s that Immortal Emperor called Yang Yutian who’s recently appeared in the Immortals’ World. He’s used multiple identities as disguises like Jian Chen of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, the Thousand Immortal General Chang Yang of the Observance Heaven City, as well as Yang Yutian of the Skyscraping World. Even to this day, no one is certain what his true identity is. However, this person is very outstanding. He’s just an Immortal Emperor, yet he managed to stir up such a great mess in the Immortals’ World. Many Immortal Exalts have tried pursuing and encircling him, but he’s still managed to escape…”

At this moment, the great elder changed the topic of conversation and began discussing the most popular matter recently with deep emotion.

“I’ve heard about this as well. The reason why Yang Yutian managed to escape from a group of Immortal Exalts is just due to the treasures in his possession,” the old man in cloth robes commented. He spoke calmly.

“Even with such treasures, an Immortal Emperor will still struggle to escape from the interception of a group of mid or even late Immortal Exalts. As a result, even if you ignore his treasures, Yang Yutian’s abilities are still unprecedented. Even throughout the history of the Immortals’ World, you won’t be able to find many prodigies like that.” The great elder from the Black Demon Palace spoke with great admiration. He also offered up an endless stream of respect internally.

As an Immortal Emperor, he understood just how unbelievable it was for a fellow Immortal Emperor to maneuver around with ease through an encirclement involving a group of Immortal Exalts and even heavenly emperors.

When he heard that, the old man only smiled.

The two of them chatted leisurely in the discussion hall as they waited patiently. After four whole hours, the great elder of the Black Demon Palace, Xue Shuangyue, finally arrived gracefully.

She was a woman dressed in black clothes. Despite seeming to be in her forties already, time had not left too many traces on her face, so she maintained some of her alluring beauty from her younger years.

Xue Shuangyue clearly possessed significant status in the Black Demon Palace. As soon as she arrived, the accompanying great elder of the Black Demon Palace stood up in a hurry and clasped his fist rather respectfully towards her.

Xue Shuangyue nodded towards the great elder before looking at the old man. Her gaze immediately turned coldened. “Who are you? I don’t seem to know you.”

“Elder Xue, do you really not recognise this person?” The great elder’s face immediately changed slightly. His gaze towards the old man turned slightly cold as well.

The old man smiled gently and said, “Fellow Xue, it’s not convenient for us to speak here. Could we step aside and talk?”

Xue Shuangyue stared at the old man emotionlessly for a moment before saying calmly, “Elder Hua, could you pass on the word to forbid nearby disciples from approaching this place?”

“Alright, I’ll go and make arrangements immediately.” The great elder understood what she was saying. He knew she was dismissing him, so he left the discussion hall without any hesitation.

However, as soon as he left the discussion hall, the senses of his soul extended out, contacting the other great elders in the depths of the Black Demon Palace.

“That Immortal Emperor deceived us. Elder Xue doesn’t know him,” elder Hua communicated.

“Is that the case? But don’t panic. He won’t be able to stir up much of a mess in the territory of our Black Demon Palace…”

“They still gifted us a high grade God Tier heavenly resource after all. They’re a guest. Even if they’re hiding their identity, it doesn’t change that fact…”

“Let’s wait and see. As long as he doesn’t do anything over the top, we’ll treat him as a guest…”

“Though we can’t afford to be careless either. After all, elder Xue’s identity is special…”

In the depths of the Black Demon Palace, the great elders who were originally indifferent about what happened here all released the senses of their souls to pay close attention to the situation in the discussion hall.

As Xue Shuangyue produced a seal in the discussion hall, a barrier of light immediately draped down, isolating the entire hall from the outside world.

The barrier of light did not possess any particularly powerful defences. Its primary purpose was to isolate sound and block off senses of the soul.

“Tell me, who exactly are you? What are you looking for me for?” Xue Shuangyue looked at the old man in cloth robes like she was interrogating him.

The old man’s eyes shone with a strange colour. He stared straight at Xue Shuangyue and gradually became stern. “I’ve come to find you because I hope you can return to the sect, the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.”

When she heard that, Xue Shuangyue’s face immediately changed. Her gaze became extremely sharp. She said softly, “Who exactly are you?”

At this moment, the old man’s presence changed. He was no longer a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor but a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor.

As his presence changed, even his appearance morphed in an overwhelming manner. He went from an old man in his golden years to a young man with a resolute face.

“It’s you!” Xue Shuangyue’s eyes narrowed. She was surprised.

She was not unfamiliar with this person. When she paid a visit to the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens on the Reverent Observance Heaven, he was the sect master at the time, Jian Chen!

However, Jian Chen was merely a nameless individual back then. In Xue Shuangyue’s eyes, he was only a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal with a mysterious backing.

But now, his name was already known by many experts of the Immortals’ World.

“Xue Ji, do you still recognise your former identity as a disciple of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens?” Jian Chen stared at Xue Shuangyue with a shining gaze.

When she heard the name Xue Ji, Xue Shuangyue could not help but tremble. Her expression became mixed as if some old memories that she had sealed away a long time ago had just been awakened.

Jian Chen stood there and stared at Xue Shuangyue quietly.

Xue Shuangyue remained silent for a very long time before saying slowly, “Xue Ji of the past is already dead. My identity is now Xue Shuangyue, a great elder of the Black Demon Palace.”

When he heard that, Jian Chen sighed gently. “If you’ve really relinquished your identity as a disciple of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, you wouldn’t have silently assisted the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens over all these years, much less personally visit the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens to ask me about my identity face to face.”

“The reason why you did all that was because you still recognise your identity as a disciple of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.”

Xue Ji sucked in a deep breath and forcefully suppressed her emotions. She stared at Jian Chen in interest. “And what is your true identity? Why are you actively getting involved in this mess?”

“Yang Yutian and Chang Yang are both my pseudonyms. Jian Chen is my true name. As for my identity, I am the sect master of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, a person who bears great hopes, wanting to lead the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens to greatness again.”
