BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

To fulfill the desire in his heart as soon as possible, Liu Xi set off with Qing Yanjing in search of the West Heaven Battle Emperor.

At this point in time, the man had yet to gain the ”West Heaven” title. He was simply known as the Battle Emperor — the Emperor of a Hundred Battles. This man had inherited the legacy of the Ancient Battle Emperor, cultivating the Great Emperor Internal Canon and specializing in the Battle Spirit Codex, a technique that fused Spiritual Energy and battle intent into an even more formidable power known as Battle Spiritual Energy.

Although his character was said to be somewhat frivolous, his strength was terrifying, and his reputation resounded across the Great Thousand Worlds.

Liu Xi’s purpose this time was to find him. Before the man was later chased to the Western Heaven Continent by Lin Dong, he should still be cultivating somewhere in the southern regions of the Great Thousand Worlds.

---

With Qing Yanjing activating a teleportation array, it took only a few days for the two to travel from the far west to the distant south of the Great Thousand Worlds.

Having a woman like Qing Yanjing at his side made traveling seem effortless.

Their destination — Boundless Continent, one of the many star-like mid-sized continents scattered across the southern lands of the Great Thousand Worlds.

Since they were already there, Liu Xi decided to gather some information about the Battle Emperor — or rather, before he gained his later title, just the Battle Emperor.

---

After entering one of the continent’s bustling cities, they drew no special attention at first. Though Liu Xi’s name had spread far and wide, his rise had been rapid — known by many, but recognized by few.

Walking the streets, no one realized who he was. Yet, his and Qing Yanjing’s appearances alone attracted countless stares: men couldn’t help glancing at Qing Yanjing, while women were drawn to Liu Xi’s striking features and aura.

A faint surge of Spiritual Energy rolled from their bodies, carrying an invisible pressure like the will of heaven itself. The crowd quickly averted their gazes; no one dared to approach.

Qing Yanjing had followed Liu Xi this far without questioning his purpose, simply trusting him. But now that they had reached the southern continent, her curiosity finally broke free.

”We’ve come all this way,” she said softly. ”Can you tell me now — why are we here?”

Liu Xi turned his gaze toward her, a hint of mystery flickering in his eyes. ”To find someone,” he said simply.

Her interest deepened. ’Someone worth Liu Xi’s personal search?’ After defeating two Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereigns, he stood at the peak of the Great Thousand Worlds. Whoever could draw his attention had to be extraordinary.

”Who is it?” she pressed curiously.

”The Battle Emperor,” Liu Xi replied with a faint smile.

Qing Yanjing frowned slightly, recalling the name. A moment later, fragments of information surfaced in her mind.

The Battle Emperor — heir to the Ancient Battle Emperor’s legacy, a Immortal Grade Heavenly Sovereign who roamed freely across the southern lands. A formidable figure with immense strength… and a notorious reputation for his harem of three thousand wives.

Her expression darkened. ”You came all this way for him? That man is infamous! You’re not planning to learn from his bad habits, are you?”

Liu Xi chuckled. Watching her bristle like a protective cat amused him to no end. ”Of course not,” he said. ”I only wish to exchange a technique with him. That’s all.”

Her shoulders relaxed. ”A technique?” she echoed. ”What kind of technique could possibly be worth all this trouble? Don’t tell me… it’s the inheritance of the Ancient Battle Emperor?”

Liu Xi’s lips curved upward. ”The Great Emperor Internal Canon.”

Qing Yanjing froze. Then, as realization dawned, her cheeks flushed crimson, the color spreading from her slender neck to the tips of her ears.

The Great Emperor Internal Canon — a dual cultivation method.

Her heart raced. ’So that’s why he wants it… this man’s intentions are far from pure!’

A soft, tremulous light flickered in her eyes, as if a mist had gathered there.

Liu Xi, of course, noticed her expression and inwardly laughed.

---

They roamed the city for a while, and Liu Xi managed to gather bits and pieces about the Battle Emperor — though no one knew his exact whereabouts.

He wasn’t surprised. Heavenly Sovereigns were elusive by nature, appearing and vanishing like dragons in the clouds. Without immense power or an organized search network, finding one was nearly impossible.

Liu Xi considered spreading his own name and letting the man come to him. That might prove faster.

For now, though, he learned something else: this was Boundless City, the heart of the Boundless Continent and the domain of its so-called ruler — the Boundless Ancestor.

The name sounded grand, but in truth, that old man was merely a 9th Grade Sovereign. Hardly worth mentioning.

---

Suddenly, a violent surge of Spiritual Energy erupted from the city center, followed by a loud, arrogant voice.

”Woman! You’ve succeeded in catching this ancestor’s eye!”

”Follow me, and riches and glory beyond imagination will be yours!”

A cold, defiant voice answered, sharp as crystal.

”Dream on.”

A burst of sword energy tore through the air — but it was weak, unstable, quickly dissolved by the overwhelming Spiritual Energy that filled the square.

Liu Xi’s eyes narrowed.

Such scenes of arrogant men bullying women weren’t rare in the Great Thousand Worlds, but this woman’s aura… felt different.

He recognized that faint, discordant energy.

Someone who had just ascended from a lower plane. Their cultivation base still carried the residue of a weaker energy system — one that conflicted with the Spiritual Energy of this realm.

If they hadn’t fully adapted, their original energy would soon be consumed. And if their transformation failed before that… they’d die.

Before Liu Xi could move, Qing Yanjing’s brows furrowed in disgust. ”Someone’s trying to seize a woman in broad daylight,” she said sharply. ”Let’s help her.”

Liu Xi nodded lightly. ”Let’s go take a look.”

Following the direction of the energy surges, they vanished and reappeared almost instantly at the scene.

---

What they saw was a square filled with onlookers — most merely whispering, none daring to intervene.

A white-robed woman stood alone at the center, a long sword clenched in her trembling hand. Her veil had fallen, revealing a face of icy beauty — exquisite yet unyielding.

Despite the crushing Spiritual pressure around her, her gaze burned with defiance.

High above, a burly man in a dark robe stood with hands clasped behind his back, sneering down at her. His features were harsh and domineering — the Boundless Ancestor, without a doubt.

His eyes gleamed with wicked delight as they roved over the woman’s form.

Waves of Spiritual Energy surged from him, distorting the very space around her.

The white-robed woman’s jaw tightened, her sword raised once more in futile resistance — and in that moment, Liu Xi’s expression turned cold.
