BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

At that moment, an overwhelming surge of divine power began to gather atop the high platform beyond the ninth step.

Instantly, sacred chants echoed in the air, and blinding light illuminated the entire space.

Amidst the endless divine resonance, a deep and heroic voice reverberated through the heavens.

”Strength, perseverance, and courage — possessing all three, you are qualified to inherit my legacy!”

”For a thousand years, I have cultivated and comprehended a peerless Divine Ability — the Nine-Turn Profound Art! Through its mastery, I sanctified my flesh and stood among the strongest in the Great Thousand Worlds. This art was later ranked among the Thirty-Six Peerless Divine Abilities!”

”Now that the Extraterritorial Evil Race has invaded, I go to slay the devils for the sake of the Great Thousand Worlds. Should I never return — then so be it!”

”This Divine Ability, I leave behind for the future generations!”

That grand, majestic voice continuously echoed in Liu Xi’s ears. Squinting slightly, he gazed at the radiant platform ahead.

There, a vague figure slowly took form — its entire body cast in blazing gold, releasing waves of terrifying power that distorted and cracked the surrounding space.

Hearing this, Liu Xi couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of respect. At last, he understood the mystery behind this cave heaven.

It was the legacy of an ancient predecessor — the very one who created one of the Thirty-Six Peerless Divine Abilities. Judging from the situation, that mighty being had likely perished long ago, leaving this inheritance behind for the destined.

However, the requirements to obtain it were impossibly high. For countless ages, no one had succeeded — until Liu Xi.

”Sit.”

As if the entire process had been predetermined, a single word followed the voice.

Liu Xi looked down and noticed a meditation mat hidden beneath the radiant light, quietly resting on the platform.

After a brief moment of thought, he walked forward and sat cross-legged upon it.

”Senior, I am ready.”

The golden figure hovering above exploded in a burst of divine brilliance. Boundless divine power erupted outward, its terrifying pressure flooding every inch of space.

Amidst that torrent of radiance, enormous golden characters appeared one after another:

”Nine-Turn Profound Art”

”When perfected, the body shall be sanctified!”

”Nine — the number of ultimate completion. To reach the ninth turn is to touch the pinnacle of the body within the laws of heaven and earth. Completing three turns grants entry to the path; six turns signifies mastery; nine turns attains divine transcendence!”

”At Three Turns — Seal All Things. Those weaker than oneself shall have all their power sealed.”

”At Six Turns — Transform Without Limit. By refining divine power, the body can take countless forms.”

”At Nine Turns — Indestructible Vajra Body. The body reaches its ultimate perfection, unbreakable and eternal.”

Countless golden words poured into Liu Xi’s mind, their profound meaning nearly impossible to fully comprehend. Each stroke carried infinite mystery.

From what he could discern, this Divine Ability sought to refine the physical body to the absolute limit within the heavenly laws themselves.

But then a daring thought flashed through Liu Xi’s mind—

If one could truly reach the limit of the flesh... could they break the rules entirely?

Would that mean achieving immortality? An undying body?

Yet, before he could ponder further, the golden characters dissolved into divine power and surged toward him like a flood.

”Urgh!”

Liu Xi grunted as an ocean of information flooded his consciousness. His mind throbbed painfully, nearly on the verge of bursting.

Sacred chants echoed within his soul, resonating alongside the divine power coursing through his body. Together, they demonstrated the essence of the Nine-Turn Profound Art.

That remnant divine energy, left by the ancient predecessor, began to circulate within Liu Xi’s body, merging with his Spiritual Energy and gradually taking on his unique nature — Chaotic Spiritual Energy.

As it moved, it started tempering his flesh and expanding his Sovereign Sea.

The strength of Liu Xi’s foundation was beyond words.

The first eight steps had tested strength and endurance; the ninth tested only courage.

And Liu Xi had lingered — refining himself until the oppressive might that could crush Heavenly Sovereigns could no longer harm him in the slightest. Only then did he step onto the ninth step.

Such a deep foundation was unimaginable.

Now, with both his solid base and the inheritance of divine power, Liu Xi’s cultivation in the Nine-Turn Profound Art advanced at astonishing speed.

As the divine power scattered across the cave gathered and poured into his body, the restriction on his Spiritual Energy was finally lifted.

On the mountain peak, Qing Yanjing sat cross-legged within the heart of the natural Spiritual Array, her long hair fluttering, her spirit immersed in a profound, ethereal state as she studied the rules of heaven and earth.

But the moment Spiritual Energy was released again, that surging wave snapped her consciousness back from enlightenment.

Her eyes fluttered open. ”The Spiritual Energy has returned... Then he must have succeeded!”

Without hesitation, she rose, her movements graceful and light. Empowered once more by her restored energy, she vanished from the mountaintop in a flash.

Moments later, she arrived back at the cave where Liu Xi had been.

There, before the radiant high platform, Qing Yanjing furrowed her brows. Liu Xi’s entire body was enveloped in dazzling golden light, waves of divine power sweeping outward like a boundless ocean.

Even she, with her cultivation, felt her heart tremble.

”This is…”

Her eyes widened. She recalled vague records from ancient scrolls — descriptions of one of the Thirty-Six Peerless Divine Abilities.

Time passed swiftly.

Three months later, Liu Xi had fully absorbed the remnant divine power and completely integrated the Nine-Turn Profound Art into his being.

With his solid foundation and the power left behind by that ancient predecessor, Liu Xi reached the Six-Turn Realm, attaining the Transform Without Limit stage of mastery.

His physical body now stood just one step away from true sanctification.

Only one small barrier remained — but that single step separated mortals from gods.

Such an achievement was already miraculous. In the Great Thousand Worlds, few ever broke into the Saint Grade through their Spiritual Energy, but to do so purely by physical cultivation was almost unheard of — a feat as rare as phoenix feathers and qilin horns.

Still, it was enough for now.

His body was more than ten times stronger than before, and his Sovereign Sea had expanded to the same degree.

In terms of overall combat power, he had reached terrifying heights. Even the Heavenly Demon Emperor who once ravaged the Burning Heaven Continent would now fall before him without question.

As the golden radiance faded, Liu Xi slowly opened his eyes. A bright grin curved his lips; the satisfaction in his gaze was impossible to hide.

This harvest was far beyond his expectations.

Then, turning his gaze to Qing Yanjing, who stood below the platform, Liu Xi’s figure blurred. In the next instant, he appeared before her and pulled her gently into his arms.

”You really are my lucky star. If I hadn’t followed you here, I might’ve missed this peerless inheritance entirely!”
