BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

North of Holy Pill City, the entire sky above the plaza was engulfed by rolling thunderclouds. Countless silver-white bolts of lightning cascaded down like a torrential storm. Among them, the seven-colored thundercloud that occupied half the heavens above Liu Xi released the most violent and dense barrage of thunder.

It was a terrifying sight—streak after streak of lightning slashed through the void, tearing open pitch-black fissures that rained down upon the Heavenly Demon Puppet. The concentrated bombardment turned the surrounding space into complete nothingness, forming a gaping black hole nearly ten meters wide. Suspended high in the heavens, the void seemed to expand with every pulse, carrying an aura of annihilation that chilled the soul.

Even a Dou Zun expert would suffer heavy injuries—or perish—under such relentless strikes. Yet within that blackened space, a golden figure wreathed in lightning stood tall, its aura only climbing higher, as if challenging the heavens themselves.

Venerable Lei raised his head slightly, his tone low and grave. ”What a powerful puppet… it not only resists the thunder but absorbs it to strengthen itself. Its strength is at least comparable to a Mid Level Dou Zun.”

Association Head Xuan Kongzi nodded with a pleased smile. ”This puppet technique seems to be an ancient art. I wonder where Liu Xi obtained it. With this puppet guarding him, even a Seven-Colored Pill Lightning poses no true threat.”

Naturally, Xuan Kongzi was delighted. With the appearance of the seven-colored Pill Lightning, Mu Gu’s so-called four-and-a-half-colored Pill Lightning had become a joke. Stroking his beard, he couldn’t help but show a trace of pride in his eyes. ’Liu Xi may not be my disciple, but he once received my personal guidance. To see such results—truly, this old man’s judgment was sharp indeed!’

Within the thunderclouds, lightning poured down endlessly like a dam burst open. But even as it emptied its reservoir of thunder force, the raging bolts could not destroy the Heavenly Demon Puppet.

Infuriating! When will our Pill Lightning ever rise again?

As if enraged by its own helplessness, the Seven-Colored Pill Lightning began to spin, producing a strange suction force that suddenly dragged the other four tribulation clouds toward it.

Mu Gu, who had just shattered a bolt of lightning and was still twitching from the shock, noticed his tribulation cloud being pulled away and burst into sinister laughter. ”Jie jie, Liu Xi! Even the heavens wish to smite you! Your puppet must be reaching its limit by now!”

Liu Xi only spared him a faint glance without a word, though inwardly he was quite amused. ’Limit? Far from it. The more lightning it devours, the stronger it becomes. When I finally crush you, Mu Gu, it’ll be effortless.’

He almost wanted to shout aloud: Let the storm come harder, haha!

But with all eyes upon him, the alchemy master maintained his calm, composed demeanor, standing like an unshakable mountain.

Before long, not just Mu Gu’s cloud—but also Qing Hua’s, Cao Ying’s, and Dan Chen’s—were all drawn toward Liu Xi’s enormous seven-colored tribulation cloud.

Qing Hua was momentarily stunned. In all his years of refining pills, he had never seen anyone rob tribulation clouds before. Normally, every alchemist wished their own cloud would float farther away!

Cao Ying and Dan Chen, however, turned pale. Their gazes darted toward Liu Xi, worried that their stolen clouds might harm his pill instead. That would hand victory to the Hall of Souls and deal a devastating blow to the Pill Tower.

Yet Liu Xi’s calm expression reassured them, and their tense shoulders finally relaxed.

The seven-colored cloud expanded rapidly, swallowing Mu Gu’s four-and-a-half-colored cloud, Qing Hua’s three-colored cloud, Cao Ying’s two-and-a-half-colored cloud, and Dan Chen’s two-colored cloud. It swelled to twice its size and quivered lightly—almost as if it had just burped in satisfaction.

Bolts of lightning as thick as water barrels coiled within the cloud, slithering like dragons. In the next instant, blinding white light erupted as the thundercloud unleashed its wrath. Dozens of massive lightning bolts pierced through space, crashing down upon the golden figure below.

The Heavenly Demon Puppet staggered back a few steps but soon steadied itself, surging forward once more without hesitation, hurling itself into the next descending bolt.

It felt no joy, no pain, no fear—only Liu Xi’s will. A perfect killing machine.

On the stone platform, Liu Xi stood quietly, his long hair fluttering in the wind, his gaze serene, exuding the tranquil bearing of a true grandmaster. Yet inwardly, he sighed with relief.

’Good thing I have the Heavenly Demon Puppet. Otherwise, with my 1-Star Dou Zun strength, even with the Green Lotus Core Flame, I’d be half-dead before suppressing such thunder. For anyone else, this would mean certain death.’

Around the plaza, everyone was utterly stunned.

Shock spread like wildfire—Liu Xi had actually allowed his tribulation cloud to devour the others, growing stronger instead of weaker! Even so, not even this overwhelming storm could destroy his golden puppet.

Gasps rippled through the crowd. Many could only stare in disbelief, realizing that their years of cultivation still couldn’t compare to a puppet forged by Liu Xi.

Thunder roared across the heavens, a deluge of lightning striking again and again in a final frenzy. Yet even after hundreds of bolts fell, the Heavenly Demon Puppet stood unbroken, gleaming brighter than ever.

At last, the clouds exhausted themselves—completely drained.

The sky slowly cleared. The boundless blue returned, sunlight poured down warmly, as if the destruction moments ago had never happened. Only the massive black hole lingering above, and the web of spatial cracks stretching outward, bore witness to the terrifying might of that tribulation.

Suspended in the void, shining with golden brilliance, the Heavenly Demon Puppet resembled a true war god.

At Liu Xi’s command, it stepped through space, landing beside him with a heavy thud.

Clang, clang. Liu Xi tapped its metallic body, hearing two crisp echoes. The puppet’s steel frame had become even denser, further strengthened by the lightning it devoured.

Satisfied, Liu Xi nodded and cast a chilling glance toward Mu Gu. ’Now, this puppet’s strength rivals a 6-Star Dou Zun, its body indestructible. Mu Gu, you’re nothing but a crumbling wall before me.’

Cold light flickered in his eyes. ’You’ve tried to kill me twice, Mu Gu. There won’t be a third time.’

Only then did the crowd regain its senses, erupting into thunderous cheers.

”Liu Xi! Liu Xi! Liu Xi!”

”Medicine Lord! Medicine Lord! Medicine Lord!”

Faces flushed, throats hoarse, countless spectators shouted themselves breathless.

Why? Because they had witnessed a miracle—the birth of an 8th Tier Pill under the Seven-Colored Pill Lightning.

For most alchemists, an 8th Tier Pill was already a dream beyond reach. But this one, tempered by the Seven-Colored Pill Lightning, had ascended into legend—truly a Divine Pill.
