BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Xuan Kongzi straightened his back, his expression solemn beyond words. His hand unconsciously clenched the armrest until a deep imprint appeared on it. Clearly, even this Pill Tower giant found the sight of the seven-colored Pill Lightning utterly unbelievable. Exhaling a slow breath, he muttered in a low, awed tone, ”The younger generation… truly terrifying.”

There was relief in his eyes—relief that Liu Xi was not a member of the Hall of Souls, relief that the Pill Tower had chosen to win him over early, and relief that his performance had been so extraordinary. Tian Leizi nodded in full agreement, his dark face serious as he said, ”Give him ten years, and he will surpass us completely—perhaps even reach another realm altogether.”

Xuan Yi sighed softly, withdrawing her gaze before looking up toward the heavens. Complex emotion flickered within her beautiful eyes—a touch of remembrance, a touch of nostalgia. Watching the radiant Liu Xi, she couldn’t help but recall the previous Pill Gathering. Back then, there had also been such a man—dominating all contenders, full of unmatched brilliance.

The entire square was dead silent. Everyone was stunned into numbness. Liu Xi hadn’t just surpassed the five-colored or six-colored Pill Lightning—he had directly summoned the legendary seven-colored Pill Lightning. Only one thought echoed in their minds: ’Is he even human?’

Those familiar with him—the people of Yin Valley, Burning Flame Valley, and Wind Lightning Pavilion—were all dumbfounded by his display. Even close friends like Xiao Yixian and Yao Tianhuo stood frozen in disbelief before bursting into heartfelt joy.

No one knew who started it, but a loud voice suddenly roared out, ”Liu Xi, Medicine Lord!”

In the next instant, the entire plaza erupted as one: ”Medicine Lord! Medicine Lord! Medicine Lord!”

The chants rose and fell, chaotic at first, then gradually unified into one thunderous rhythm until only a single voice filled the heavens—”Medicine Lord!”

The sound shook the sky itself, spreading like a tidal wave in every direction. It was easy to imagine that from this day forth, Liu Xi’s name would resound across the Central Plains. With his former reputation, today’s unmatched feat, and the Pill Gathering’s championship added on top, he would become one of the most dazzling figures in Central Plains—untouchable, unparalleled.

Cao Ying let out a long breath, patting her ample chest as the heart that had nearly leapt into her throat finally settled. Her fiery gaze lingered on Liu Xi, her lips curling into a smile as she whispered sweetly, ”Seven-colored Pill Lightning… you nearly scared me to death, but I won’t give up so easily. From now on, you’ll be the goal of my entire life, Master Liu.”

Dan Chen’s pale face showed pure admiration. Due to her frail body, alchemy had always been her greatest pride—but now, someone had far surpassed her in that very art. How could she not feel awe?

Qing Hua sighed deeply, his expression filled with resignation. Standing on his platform, he murmured, ”Truly… the younger generation grows more monstrous by the day. Just a few decades of study, and he’s equaled to what took me half a lifetime to master.”

If not for the visible traces of Liu Xi’s growth, Qing Hua might have believed he was witnessing some reclusive ancient monster disguised as a youth.

Most of the others could only sigh in amazement—but not Mu Gu. His face was as dark as a soot-stained pot, as if someone owed him a 9th Tier Pill. The deafening shouts of ”Medicine Lord” grated against his ears, stirring memories of a certain old ”Medicine Sovereign.” His teeth itched with rage.

But Mu Gu quickly forced himself to calm down. The plan to humiliate the Pill Tower had failed, yet there would be future opportunities for revenge. His snake-like gaze locked onto Liu Xi, his tone low and venomous. ”So what if you’re a genius? So what if you’ve summoned seven-colored Pill Lightning? You’ve stirred up a storm you can’t control! Let’s see if you can withstand it—if both you and your pill get struck to ash, that’ll save me the trouble!”

He wasn’t the only one who thought of that. Xuan Kongzi, Tian Leizi, and Xuan Yi—all three giants of the Pill Tower—as well as Cao Ying and Dan Chen, shared the same concern. Liu Xi’s power was formidable, yes, but seven-colored Pill Lightning was strong enough to annihilate even a normal Dou Zun expert.

Yet while others worried, Liu Xi remained utterly calm. Seven-colored Pill Lightning? So what? Even if it were nine-colored, what of it?

He stood with his hands clasped behind his back. Though fatigue lingered in his expression, the faint smile on his lips radiated pure excitement. The seven-colored lightning had exceeded even his expectations, but on reflection, it made sense.

In the past, he could summon four- or five-colored Pill Lightning, but his understanding of 8th Tier Pills had been incomplete, capping him at the three-colored level. Then he received the Ye Clan ancestor’s inheritance, which completed his cultivation method and broadened his insight. Later, Xuan Kongzi had personally gifted him his handwritten notes—without reservation—granting him even greater comprehension.

Finally, in the Pill Realm, Liu Xi had seized the Core Soul Marrow, propelling his Spiritual Power to new heights. That was the true foundation of this moment.

Hearing the endless chants echoing around him, Liu Xi smiled faintly. ”Medicine Lord, huh? A new title. Once they called me the Demon Lord… now it’s the Medicine Lord. Heh.”

Sensing the venomous gaze behind him, Liu Xi turned slightly. His eyes met Mu Gu’s pitch-black, hate-filled stare. Even without guessing, he knew exactly what the man was thinking. His lips moved, and a thread of Spiritual Power carried his words across the air: ”You’re alive only because I wanted to test my power in the Pill Realm.”

Then, with a wave of his hand, an enormous golden figure materialized beside him—the Heavenly Demon Puppet—its aura vast and imposing, not inferior to Tian Shuangzi Demon Puppet. Its expression was void, its eyes empty, but its presence radiated unshakable might.

Mu Gu’s face darkened further. He realized that if Liu Xi had used this puppet back in the Pill Realm, his own odds of survival would have been less than thirty percent.

Cao Ying and Dan Chen both realized what Liu Xi intended—to let the puppet bear the brunt of the Pill Lightning. But could even a puppet withstand the force of seven-colored Pill Lightning?

There was no time left to question it. The thunderclouds had already reached their peak.

Liu Xi’s storm loomed largest of all, occupying half the sky. The destructive aura it released dwarfed that of all the other four competitors combined.

Boom!

The heavens roared. Lightning twisted like serpents through the storm clouds before one blinding silver bolt plunged downward like a coiling dragon, its descent unstoppable.

Liu Xi’s expression sharpened. With a thought, he shouted, ”Go!”

The Heavenly Demon Puppet stirred to life, golden light bursting from its body. It bent its knees, launched upward, and met the oncoming lightning head-on.

A deafening explosion filled the air. The puppet staggered back several steps under the impact, yet when the lightning dissipated, its golden form remained unscathed. Instead, its body shone even brighter, arcs of silver-white electricity dancing across its surface, making it resemble a war god born from thunder itself.
