Ghost Catching System

The examiner announced the names of twenty people and said, ”The twenty people I have called out originally could not pass the assessment, but due to this assessment’s regulations, a temporary amendment has been made. These twenty people will have another assessment in a month, and if they pass, they will be promoted.”

Zhang Jian and Liao Yusheng were ecstatic, although they have not been promoted yet, there is always hope.

”The names of the following twenty people, congratulations on passing the assessment.”

”Zhu Qing, Wang Xiaoyu, Du Peng, Naihe Xiao.”

The examiner read out the names of fifteen people in one breath.

Zhang Jian and others said, ”Du Peng, congratulations.”

Du Peng laughed heartily and said, ”Actually, I almost failed, I ranked 498th, but my luck was not bad.”

”Now, let me announce the top three.”

”Liao Fei, ranked 22nd in the half-step Heavenly Master positioning competition, and third in this assessment.”

Everyone was amazed.

Liao Fei also felt proud in his heart, being ranked 22nd in the whole state is a testament to one’s talent.

”Congratulations, Liao Fei.”

Liao Fei nodded politely.

”Qin Gu, ranked 564th in the Lower Heavenly Master Level competition, and secured second place in this assessment.”

Originally proud, Liao Fei was rendered silent upon hearing the opponent’s score at the Lower Heavenly Master Level.

Liao Fei’s mentor comforted him, saying, ”Once you reach the Heavenly Master Realm, you won’t be inferior to him.”

Liao Fei smiled inwardly.

So, who is the first place winner? What kind of score do they have?

The examiner said, ”As for the first place, I want to particularly mention this here.”

”Zhang Han, ranked 1st in the Lower Heavenly Master Level positioning competition, and 693rd in the All-Star Challenge.”

The square fell into silence immediately.

”Who is Zhang Han?” someone asked, face full of shock.

Someone wiped the sweat from their forehead and said, ”Although I don’t know who Zhang Han is, if they ranked 1st in the Lower Heavenly Master Level competition, then they must be the champion of the consecutive victories, a prodigy known as the Sentimental Swordsman with a Ruthless Sword from the few days prior to the assessment?”

”I also watched that challenge, Zhang Han is truly strong.”

”So impressive, our Sacred Land has produced another monster.”

The examiner said, ”With an outstanding performance and a streak of 110 victories without a single defeat, Zhang Han secured first place.”

”As a result, Zhang Han is directly joining the Purple Guard.”

The square burst into exclamations again.

Chu Hao asked the person beside him, ”What is the Purple Guard?”

Zhang Jian replied, ”There are quite a few purple-robed students in the thirty-six institutes, but as for the Purple Guard, it’s said to be limited to five hundred people and is also called the ring of monsters, as each member is a top genius nurtured by the Sacred Land.”

Liao Yusheng also said, ”If the Sacred Land is recruiting disciples, the people from the Purple Guard are the first choice.”

Zhang Jian sighed and said, ”Among the geniuses in the Purple Guard, someone has been the champion of the challenge ranking competition, the top of the half-step Heavenly Master positioning competition, the top in the Lower Vehicle Realm, and the top in the Middle Vehicle Realm, all of them are monsters.”

Du Peng patted Chu Hao on the shoulder and said, ”Zhang Han, I really envy you.”

Zhang Jian chuckled and said, ”By the way, Du Peng’s fiancée is also a member of the Purple Guard.”

Chu Hao was speechless for a moment.

Is your fiancée really that excellent?

Liao Yusheng chuckled and said, ”Zhang Han, you might not know, Yu Ming is also a member of the Purple Guard, and you’ve beaten him before. Surely, you’ll make a name for yourself there.”

Zhang Jian said enviously, ”My goddess, Su Yaojing, is also a member of the Purple Guard. I’m so envious of you, Zhang Han.”

Zhang Jian and Liao Yusheng expressed their envy continuously, but only Du Peng appeared worried.

Purple Guard, the Sacred Land’s top young experts.

Back at the dormitory.

The four of them drank themselves into a drunken stupor.

Du Peng had too much to drink and groggily said, ”Zhang Han, help your brother out when you join the Purple Guard.”

”Speak.” Chu Hao replied.

Du Peng hiccuped and said, ”Convey to my fiancée, tell her that Du Peng will surely catch up with her pace, I like her.”

”No problem.” Chu Hao laughed.

There’s no such thing as an everlasting feast; although the time spent together was short, Zhang Jian, Liao Yusheng, and Du Peng were the first friends Chu Hao made after arriving at the Shanhai Realm.

On the second day, Du Peng and Chu Hao packed their belongings.

Zhang Jian and Liao Yusheng laughed and said, ”Du Peng, we’ll come to find you soon, it won’t take long.”

Du Peng laughed and said, ”I trust in your abilities.”

Liao Yusheng said, ”Goodbye, Zhang Han.”

”Yes, goodbye.”

Leaving the Blue-Robed dormitory, the two boarded the Flying Boat, heading deep into the Sacred Land, towards the Purple Peak.

Purple Peak, the gathering place of purple-robed students, is still some distance away from the outskirts.

Two hours later.

The students on the Flying Boat felt the grandeur and vastness of the Holy City; it is not just a single city, but multiple cities and mountain ranges connected.

With such abundant resources and boundless terrain, the Holy City is led by the Jiuhua Sacred Land.

Thus, one can see the terror of the Jiuhua Sacred Land.

Originally thought of as isolated, but underneath Purple Peak, there is an urban area.

Purple Cloud District, the most central and prosperous district in the Holy City.

From above, you can see some villas; the wealthy landscape is unparalleled, pedestrians and vehicles are visible on the streets, and looking down, one can also see advertisements on some buildings.

This is unique to the Shanhai Realm.

On the Flying Boat, Du Peng exclaimed, ”The housing here in the Purple Cloud District costs at least ten million yuan per square meter; to acquire a hundred square-meter comfortable abode, you’d have to spend a billion.”

”Not expensive.” Chu Hao said.

Du Peng said, ”…I don’t want to talk to you; you’re not short of money anyway.”

Du Peng seemed deeply hurt.

Chu Hao said, ”Who said I’m not short of money? I’m not short of a trillion, but tens of trillions.”

”Ding... Du Peng suffered an inner force damage of ten thousand points, the Host earned seventy thousand Pretentiousness Points.”

Du Peng clutched his heart, with pleading eyes looking at Chu Hao, begging him to stop striking him down, as together with him, Du Peng felt worthless.

…

Finally, they arrived at Purple Peak.

In the central area of the Purple Cloud District, the grand palaces and endless luxurious buildings differ from those on the outskirts.

Off the Flying Boat.

A female mentor greeted them; she looked good, with a nice figure, and upon seeing Chu Hao, she said, ”Zhang Han, is it? Come with me.”

Thus, they parted ways.

Du Peng said, ”Zhang Han, next time we meet, you must treat me to a drink, you millionaire.”

”No problem.”

Others also left with their guides, but the place Chu Hao was heading was different from theirs, rumored to be full of monsters, the Purple Guard.

Following the female mentor, they got into a luxury car, which slowly drove out, cruising on the smooth, wide road.

In the car, the female mentor took out a key and said, ”Your room has been allocated, room number 497.”

Chu Hao took the key.

The female mentor said, ”Let’s talk about the Purple Guard first, the rules are simple: without permission, do not leave on your own.”

Chu Hao frowned and said, ”Does the Purple Guard restrict personal freedom?”

The female mentor laughed and said, ”You’re not the first to ask this, actually, you can go out as long as you apply for it; the rule is to prevent the Purple Guard from secretly taking the Sacred Land’s resources outside, and if caught, the consequences would be unthinkable.”

Sure enough, five days later, the goods arrived, Chu Hao
