Ghost Catching System

Sure, here is the translated text:

The task was issued by the Mandarin Duck Ghosts, quite unexpected actually.

Upon hearing Little Cui’s matchmaking words, Short and Fat Ghost Officiant sneered, ”Busybody, no wonder the higher-ups want to catch you all, messing with matchmaking, don’t you know it’s a serious crime?”

Little Cui cried, ”We, we didn’t know, please, Lord, spare us.”

Short and Fat shook his head.

At this moment, Chu Hao couldn’t help but say, ”I say, you Ghost Officiant, with so many Fierce Ghosts outside the city, why bother catching them? What does matchmaking have to do with you?”

He was indeed puzzled, so many Fierce Ghosts outside, yet they ignored them and hunted the weaker ghosts in the Holy City.

Short and Fat Ghost Officiant coldly said, ”Yang person, my advice to you, best not meddle too much.”

Chu Hao shrugged and said, ”Sorry, I’m here on a task.”

”Courting death.”

The iron ball came crashing down, Chu Hao raised his hand.

Short and Fat Ghost Officiant sneered, daring to catch his iron ball with your hand? I won’t rest until you’re completely destroyed.

”Bang!”

Unlike imagined, the explosive force of the iron ball didn’t knock Chu Hao away, instead, it froze in mid-air, caught single-handedly by him.

Mandarin Duck Ghosts were also stunned.

Short and Fat exclaimed, retrieving his iron ball, ”Living man, if you really want to interfere, impeding a Ghost Officiant’s work is a serious crime, some day in the Underworld, these charges will be reckoned with.”

Chu Hao sneered, others may not know what the Underworld is, but would he be unaware?

Besides, he doesn’t even belong to the Shanhai Realm; if he goes, it would be to the Yanhuang Netherworld that he built.

What can you do to me?

Chu Hao said, ”You haven’t answered my question, why are you fixated on the Mandarin Duck Ghosts, yet allowing those Fierce Ghosts outside to roam freely?”

Short and Fat Ghost Officiant said nothing, and vanished underground.

Chu Hao sneered, stomped his foot, Yin Yang Force pierced through the Earth Veins below, transforming into thousands of threads, pulling Short and Fat out from underground.

”Ouch.”

Short and Fat panicked, this kid is too powerful, though he’s capable of dealing with Asura-ranked ghosts, he couldn’t even escape from Chu Hao.

Chu Hao chuckled lightly, a smile carrying wickedness, ”I’m suddenly very interested in your task.”

Short and Fat Ghost Officiant’s smile didn’t reach his eyes, ”W-what do you want to know?”

Chu Hao said, ”They haven’t harmed anyone, so why catch them?”

Short and Fat knew if he didn’t speak, he wouldn’t be able to leave, ”Lord Gui Si from the Underworld sent me, they violated the Marriage Ghost Si’s rules.”

Chu Hao said, ”Rules? Perhaps these Mandarin Duck Ghosts have stolen its Merit, haven’t they?”

Short and Fat bitterly laughed, ”You know.”

The Underworld in the Shanhai Realm is so corrupt and dark.

Chu Hao said, ”I ask you, why so many ghosts outside, aren’t their Merit Points greater?”

Short and Fat curiously said, ”Are you not from the Yang Realm of Shanhai? Not knowing this.”

Chu Hao’s eyes turned icy, ”Speak when instructed.”

Short and Fat quickly added, ”Ever since the rebellion of Ghost Gods many years ago, the Underworld has never been at peace, more and more ghosts oppose the Underworld’s ways, the Underworld and Yang Realm ghosts have become mortal enemies.”

”You don’t know, those vicious ghosts, if they capture a Ghost Officiant, they’ll want to skin and torture them, using Hell’s punishment on Fierce Ghosts against us.” Short and Fat spoke fearfully.

Chu Hao despised, ”Such a mighty Underworld, why so cowardly?”

Short and Fat sighed, ”The Underworld has no choice, years of constant battles, be they big or small, prevent even a moment’s rest.”

It seems, ghosts of the Shanhai Realm are indeed ferocious.

As Short and Fat was about to leave, he suddenly turned back, ”You can save them once, but not a second time.”

Short and Fat left.

”Thank you, Lord, for the life-saving grace.” Mandarin Duck Ghosts thanked repeatedly.

”Ding... Task completed, gained twenty million Experience Points.”

”Ding... Task completed, gained one million Merit Points.”

Chu Hao said, ”He was right, can save you once, not necessarily a second time.”

Mandarin Duck Ghosts quickly said, ”We’ll leave the Holy City immediately, and not return.”

Chu Hao was about to leave, ”Take care then.”

Suddenly, the Mandarin Duck Ghosts said, ”Lord, stay a moment.”

Chu Hao turned, frowned, ”What else?”

Mandarin Duck Ghost, Little Cui, said, ”Lord, I have very important information. Since I’m leaving now, and you’re from the Sacred Land, I must tell you, else I’ll regret it.”

”Speak then.”

Little Cui said, ”A year ago, I heard near the Holy City, a renegade ghost army planned to attack Jiuhua Holy City.”

Chu Hao was taken aback.

”Are you sure?”

Little Cui said, ”Yes, I can confirm, at the time, the two planning were at the Asura Ghost Emperor level.”

”Besides, their final target was just the Tianqiong Vein.”

Chu Hao said, ”Since it’s a Ghost Emperor, why weren’t you discovered?”

Little Cui said, ”My ghost body is quite special, able to sense plants and trees, listen to outside sounds through them, hear within ten kilometers, hence we conduct matchmaking in the Labyrinth Garden.”

Chu Hao said, ”Alright, I understand.”

Mandarin Duck Ghosts finally left.

Attacking Jiuhua Holy City?

Are ghosts of the Shanhai Realm that fierce?

...

Soon, Chu Hao completed ten tasks, earned considerable school credits, alongside killing Fierce Ghosts for tasks, gained quite a bit of Experience Points.

However, still short of thirty million Experience Points for upgrade.

He spent five days completing ten tasks, a speed not considered fast, amassed eighty school credits.

”These school credits are really hard to earn,” Chu Hao murmured.

However, after this examination, first place can earn a thousand credits, enough for splurging. The most important thing now is securing the remaining thirty million Experience Points.

Chu Hao set his sights on outside the Holy City.

”Should I head out to hunt? Forget it, too terrifying outside, I’ll submit tasks now, reconsider later.”

Night outside is extremely dangerous, even the Asura Ghost King might appear.

A few days later, finally leveled up.

Pretentious Little Heavenly King: Chu Hao

Power: Yin-Yang Diviner (Intermediate Level)

Level: 7

Experience Points: Zero/eight hundred million

Pretentiousness Points: Seven hundred and eighty thousand Pretentiousness Points

Merit Points: twelve million

...

Blinking, a month passed.

The Blue-robed Students’ examination finally ended.

During this time, Blue-robed Students experienced immense pressure, this examination too hard, out of eighteen hundred participants, how many would pass?

Reportedly, because of strict examination requirements, the Sacred Land lowered examination criteria, but what these criteria are, remains unknown.

Finally, the list of passed students released, all Blue-robed Students gathered in the square.

Zhang Jian and others hurried to the square, eager to know if they passed.

The examiner opened the scroll in his hand, voice crisp and bright, resounded in the square.

”The following students.”

”Zhang Chao, Bai Sheng, Mu Wan’er, Bo Qinglong, Zhang Jian, Liao Yusheng....”

Those whose names were called were inwardly ecstatic.
