Ghost Catching System

My parents used to be subordinates of the Yan Luo King.

Now that was impressive—being able to climb that high in the Underworld could only mean my parents were really badass in the Yin and Yang Realm.

The Yan Luo King recalled the past, sighed lightly, and said, ”Back then, your parents had only one wish: to return. But the Underworld was a mess, and those who’d been summoned down to the Yin Realm couldn’t go back up without a special decree.”

”And your parents’ strength was obvious to all. The Underworld needed talents like them.”

”Originally, your parents were doing quite well; their status in the Underworld now would absolutely not be low. But in order to go back, they stole King Qin Guang’s jade token.”

Stealing the jade token was only the beginning.

The conflict between my parents and King Qin Guang had started even earlier.

The Yan Luo King said, ”This is also my fault. After King Song’s rebellion, the situation in the Underworld changed greatly. King Qin and I fought over the palace seat, a lot of conflicts cropped up. He knew how strong your parents were and tried to get them to help, but Wang Zai refused him.”

”So King Qin targeted your parents, forcing them to leave my side and exiling them to the Great Netherworld.”

”In fact, I was capable of sheltering your parents, but your mother, right in front of countless Yanjun and Underworld officials, gave King Qin a vicious tongue-lashing.”

My mom was that fierce?

Chu Hao said, ”Then my parents, are they okay in the Great Netherworld?”

The Yan Luo King shook his head and said, ”At first they were fine. I’d always had people keeping an eye on your parents. But some time ago, your parents tried to forcibly break away from the Great Netherworld’s jurisdiction, enraging the Yanjun of the Great Netherworld, who then exiled them to the Cemetery.”

The Cemetery!

”Isn’t that place a forbidden zone?” Chu Hao asked nervously.

The Yan Luo King said, ”The Cemetery is not danger at every step. It’s possible they were exiled there to guard the graveyards.”

From this, Chu Hao could feel that his parents had done everything they could just to return to the Yang Realm.

Chu Hao clenched his fists and said, ”I’ll go to the Great Netherworld and find them.”

The Yan Luo King said, ”The Great Netherworld was sealed off some time ago. It’s very hard for you to get in; even I can’t help you, unless you go to a place in the Shanhai Realm—the Burial Ground.”

Chu Hao’s face lit up. ”Thank you for telling me, Yanjun.”

The Yan Luo King laughed heartily and said, ”I never expected that the son those two have been dying to return to the Yang Realm to find would one day be sitting right in front of me. This is fate. Whatever I can help with, I definitely will.”

Who says the Yan Luo King is terrifying?

Look at our Yan Luo King—kind and approachable.

Knowing news of his parents, Chu Hao felt much more at ease.

The Yan Luo King said, ”That Hai Mu once had a grudge with your parents; you need to be careful of him.”

”If I go talk to him, he won’t dare do anything to you.”

Chu Hao sneered. ”No need to bother, Yanjun. If that guy comes looking for trouble, I’ll make sure he can’t eat or walk away from it.”

Chu Hao strode out of the Yanluo Palace.

He had just stepped out of the Yanluo Palace when he saw a Netherworld Soldier walking over, who said coldly, ”My lord requests your presence.”

No need to ask; this had to be one of Hai Mu’s Netherworld Soldiers.

Chu Hao said directly, ”What the hell is he that he thinks this Taoist Master should go see him? Go tell Hai Mu to come kneel and kowtow to me three times. Otherwise! Every time I see him, I’ll beat him up.”

”Ding… Host has successfully acted pretentious, gained 9000 Pretentiousness Points.”

The Netherworld Soldier was stunned. Who the hell is this guy!

General Hai Mu wanted to see him, and he actually told him to get lost!

And what, three kowtows to welcome him?

How big do you think your face is?

This Netherworld Soldier was one of Hai Mu’s trusted men; if the Boss was talked about like that, of course the underling couldn’t just let it go.

However, since this brat walked out of the Yanluo Palace, he clearly wasn’t some pushover either.

The Netherworld Soldier tested the waters and asked, ”You’re pretty arrogant—dare to state what position you hold in the Underworld?”

The Netherworld Soldier thought, if your rank is high, then I’ve got nothing to say.

Chu Hao waved his hand and took out his Centurion appointment token, putting on a lofty, spirited air as he said, ”I’m a Centurion. You’re just a little Netherworld Soldier—any other questions? Get lost.”

Fuck!

The Netherworld Soldier was practically driven mad with rage.

A damn Centurion and you’re this cocky, acting like you’re the king of the world!

The Netherworld Soldier pulled out his own appointment token and shouted angrily, ”You little Centurion, open your eyes and take a good look—what’s this?”

Chu Hao took a look.

The Netherworld Soldier had a token in his hand with the character ”Thousand” on it, and it was even a purple token—a very high rank among Chiliarchs.

This Netherworld Soldier was actually a Chiliarch?

Chu Hao instantly felt his balls ache.

He suddenly felt that a Centurion rank was totally worthless in the Underworld.

He’d worked so damn hard to finally get his Centurion position back, and then some random Netherworld Soldier popping out of nowhere turned out to be a Chiliarch?

Is that fun for you?

The Chiliarch Netherworld Soldier sneered. ”Arrogant punk, you’ve got guts. A measly Centurion dares offend General Hai Mu. Come with me and plead guilty.”

”Scram!” Chu Hao said flatly.

”Hmph, looks like I’ll have to use some methods.” The Chiliarch Netherworld Soldier said coldly.

One minute later.

The Chiliarch Netherworld Soldier was lying on the ground with a bruised and swollen face.

Chu Hao clapped his hands and said, ”What a joke. With strength like yours you’re a Chiliarch? Did you buy that post?”

The Chiliarch Netherworld Soldier wailed, not even having the strength to speak. The beating he’d taken was just too brutal.

He’d thought his Chiliarch rank would be enough to suppress the other guy.

Who knew Chu Hao couldn’t care less about his rank.

At this moment, White Impermanence walked over and asked in surprise, ”What’s going on?”

Chu Hao shook his head and said, ”Nothing. Just some blind little soldier blocking my way.”

When White Impermanence heard that, he couldn’t let it slide.

White Impermanence kicked out and cursed, ”What the hell, you dare block a Centurion’s path? Looks like you’ve eaten a bear’s heart and a leopard’s gall.”

Fuck!

The Chiliarch Netherworld Soldier lying on the ground almost passed out from anger.

White Impermanence, just you wait.

The two walked off, and White Impermanence said smugly, ”If you run into that kind of small fry, don’t give them any face. If something happens, this big bro will cover for you.”

Chu Hao said, ”Big bro, he wasn’t a small fry; he was a Chiliarch.”

”Big bro, why is your face turning dark?”

White Impermanence almost spat blood. He’d just kicked him—would that Chiliarch come for revenge?

Chu Hao asked, ”Who is Hai Mu?”

White Impermanence froze and said, ”You mean General Hai Mu under King Qin? He’s a Myriarch, very high-ranking, his position only beneath General Nanweng Wafu.”

”You didn’t… provoke him, did you?” White Impermanence asked cautiously.

”He has a grudge with my parents. As soon as he saw me, he wanted to pick a fight.”

White Impermanence jumped in fright. ”Then you’d better hurry back to the Yang Realm. Hai Mu is not someone to mess with.”

”Hai Mu commands five hundred thousand Netherworld Soldiers; he’s King Qin’s right-hand man, almost no one dares cross him.”

As White Impermanence was talking, Chu Hao suddenly stopped walking.

They saw, on the street in Fengdu ahead, a group of Netherworld Soldiers appear, awe-inspiring in armor, weapons in hand, blocking the way.

Among them was the Chiliarch Netherworld Soldier they’d just beaten up, his face full of resentment.

”Seize them for me.”

The residents of Fengdu cried out in alarm.

White Impermanence shouted, ”You brazen thugs, how dare you cause trouble in Fengdu?”
