Ghost Catching System

Chu Hao tested the air inside. Finding nothing wrong, he said, ”Let’s go.”

The toad looked at Chu Hao with disdain and said, ”Were you a tomb raider before? You actually managed to dig this up.”

”Cut the crap. Does a genius like me need to raid tombs?” Chu Hao retorted, clearly displeased.

The toad sneered, ”Pah! Some people raid tombs not for money. You’re probably one of them, always sneaking into ancient tombs to steal treasures, aren’t you? No wonder you have so many rare items. Aren’t you afraid of being struck by lightning?”

Hearing this, Chu Hao stroked his chin and said, ”Now that you mention it, I do think this line of work has potential.”

”I despise you,” the toad said as it hopped in.

Four meters down the thieves’ tunnel, they came upon a wide corridor filled with a ghostly chill.

The man and the toad moved unhindered through the pitch-black darkness.

The corridor was large, with many secret chambers on either side. Within them, they could faintly make out coffins. These coffins were ancient, and it was unknown what wood they were made from, but even after so many years, they showed no signs of decay, resting silently in the chambers.

Chu Hao activated his Heavenly Eye and immediately saw the Ghost Qi within the coffins, as well as entirely different scenes.

The secret chamber now appeared as a large hall, resembling a room in an ancient mansion. A Female Ghost, her expression shifting erratically, floated out from a coffin, her face deathly pale.

She was dressed in the attire of an ancient palace maid, grand and resplendent. ”Little Cui,” she said, ”why has the Great King been so angry these past few days?”

Beside the Fierce Ghost, another Female Ghost, this one resembling a maid, appeared from a smaller coffin. She replied respectfully, ”Madam, it’s said that many living people have come to the surface looking for the Great King.”

The Fierce Ghost snorted coldly. ”A bunch of fools courting death! Once the Great King successfully cultivates the Ghost Sutras, he will take their lives. Then I can find a few living people to amuse myself with.”

This Female Ghost in palace maid attire seems to have a close relationship with the Black Water Ghost King, Chu Hao realized upon hearing this.

Little Cui said, ”Madam, those tomb raiders are on their last legs.”

The Female Ghost Madam spoke indifferently, ”Truly useless. Throw them into the Pit of Ten Thousand Corpses for the Resentful Ghost Army to feed on.”

”Yes, Madam.”

If I capture this Female Ghost Madam, it might lead me to the Ghost King in this Ancient Tomb, Chu Hao thought.

Suddenly, CLATTERING sounds echoed through the corridor. The man and the toad concealed their aura, hiding deep in the shadows.

A tall general clad in armor appeared. Bowing respectfully, he said, ”Madam, I have arrived.”

The Female Ghost Madam said, ”Little Cui, go guard the door.”

”Yes, Madam.”

Little Cui left the room. Then, from inside, came the Female Ghost Madam’s laughter. ”General Zhang, it’s been quite some time since I last saw you.”

The Ghost General sighed. ”These are troubled times. The Great King has obtained the Ghost Sutras, and all the living humans and Demons from the outside world are eyeing us greedily. We’ve been stretched too thin.”

The Female Ghost Madam said tenderly, ”Even if we’re busy, we should still enjoy ourselves, shouldn’t we?”

Then, from the room came panting sounds and the noises of their tryst, crystal clear to both Chu Hao’s and the toad’s ears.

So, this Female Ghost Madam was cuckolding the Black Water Ghost King.

The toad, somewhat excited, communicated telepathically, ”Two Ghosts getting it on! This Emperor hasn’t seen that before.”

Chu Hao rolled his eyes and gestured towards Little Cui, who was guarding the door.

The toad sent a telepathic reply, ”Don’t order This Emperor around. I know what to do.”

With that, the toad charged forward.

Little Cui was, at most, a Dark Killing Ghost. The toad rushed up, opened its mouth wide, and inhaled. Before Little Cui could even react, she was sucked into its mouth.

Then, Chu Hao sneaked into the secret chamber. He saw the Female Ghost Madam and the General, right in the middle of their ”fierce battle”!

These two Fierce Ghosts had stripped off everything they could. It had to be said, the Female Ghost Madam had a great figure; though her skin was deathly pale, she was still a beauty.

”Who’s there!” the Ghost General reacted quickly.

The Female Ghost Madam was also startled. Pushing the Ghost General away, she revealed her terrifying, death-stricken appearance, staring intently at Chu Hao.

Chu Hao said, ”Tsk, tsk. Does the Black Water Ghost King know you’re cuckolding him?”

The Ghost General was greatly shocked. Observing Chu Hao, he realized this wasn’t a living person, but someone wreathed in Ghost Qi.

”You’re seeking death!” roared the Ghost General. He was a Great General under the Black Water Ghost King, his strength unfathomable.

Chu Hao struck directly, his fist imbued with potent Yang energy.

His Po Jun Fist transformed into a terrifying force and exploded on the Ghost General’s forehead—the typical location of a Ghost’s Ghost Heart. The General screamed miserably as his body split open, exclaiming, ”You… you’re a living person?”

Chu Hao didn’t want to alert the Black Water Ghost King. He drew his Night Demon Blade and, with one clean swing, decapitated the Ghost General.

”Ding… Killed Intermediate Quasi-Ghost King. Earned 2,000,000 Experience Points.”

Chu Hao muttered, ”Didn’t even drop a single item. Trash is still trash.”

The Female Ghost Madam was utterly dumbstruck. The powerful Ghost General had been killed in the blink of an eye, completely obliterated!

The Female Ghost Madam shrieked, ”Don’t! Don’t kill me! Please, don’t kill me!”

Chu Hao looked at her. The Black Water Ghost King certainly had good taste. This ancient woman had a fine figure, clearly well-maintained when she was alive. It’s just that her skin is deathly pale now, and she evokes no feeling in me, he thought.

Seeing Chu Hao’s gaze on her body, the Female Ghost Madam adopted a pitiable expression and said, ”You can do whatever you want with me.”

The toad’s face lit up with excitement. ”Kiddo Chu,” it said, ”don’t kill this Female Ghost! Leave her for This Emperor!”

Chu Hao looked at the toad, speechless. ”You want a Female Ghost too? Your tastes are truly… strong.”

The toad replied awkwardly, ”Well, This Emperor has been sealed for too long. I’m willing to try any female I see.”

Chu Hao was speechless. This toad is truly a first-class pervert.

Chu Hao glared at her. ”Don’t try that act with me. If you don’t want to be reduced to ashes, lead us to the Black Water Ghost King.”

The Female Ghost Madam shuddered. Between humans and Ghosts, there were mutual fears. It wasn’t just that humans feared Ghosts; sometimes, Ghosts feared humans even more, because if they died again, they would lose the chance for reincarnation.

”I’ll lead the way.”

To prevent her from escaping, Chu Hao drew a Talisman—a suppressive seal for the Ghost Heart—and placed it on the Female Ghost Madam’s Ghost Heart. If she tried anything suspicious, Chu Hao would chant an incantation and shatter her Ghost Heart.

Now, the Female Ghost Madam didn’t dare say another word and obediently led the way.

From the Female Ghost Madam, Chu Hao learned that the Black Water Ghost King had many wives—a hundred and thirty, in fact. The Ghost King seldom sought her out, preferring his other concubines.

So the saying about ancient emperors having three thousand beauties in their harems might actually be true, Chu Hao thought. This Black Water Ghost King is merely a prince and a General, yet he has a hundred and thirty wives. That’s quite something.

The toad muttered, ”How ruthless! He dragged all one hundred and thirty wives to their deaths to accompany him. This Black Water Ghost King must have killed countless people.”

Indeed. If he could be so ruthless to his own family, it was no wonder he’d do the same to those who were buried alive to form his Resentful Ghost Army.

Finally, they arrived at a spacious main hall within the Ancient Tomb. The architecture here was quite similar to the mansions of ancient times, with priceless antiques displayed throughout the hall.
