Ghost Catching System

Feng Xiaoxiao, the demon lurking among humans, had almost fooled even Brother Hao.

It’s strange, Chu Hao thought. My Ghost Eye Ring has already been upgraded, so why can’t it reveal her true form? I could only see it after her ’face’ was peeled off.

System prompt, ”Mission triggered: Publicly expose Feng Xiaoxiao to gain 500,000 Experience Points.”

System prompt, ”Hidden mission: Capture Feng Xiaoxiao alive.”

This time, the mission provided no difficulty level. It was divided into two separate parts—an initial objective and a hidden one—effectively making them two distinct tasks.

As for the subsequent hidden mission, it was even more frustrating, as capturing Feng Xiaoxiao alive came with no reward prompt.

Of course, the System was the System, and Chu Hao was Chu Hao. He could choose not to undertake this mission and simply kill Feng Xiaoxiao.

However, it was possible the hidden mission had significant implications for its difficulty, suggesting the System wanted Chu Hao to adapt as needed.

Chu Hao observed for a long time but still couldn’t determine what Feng Xiaoxiao truly was. Faced with such a grotesque appearance, he couldn’t be certain, even with the records from the Ancient Sacred Scripture Compendium.

Could this creature be a new species? Chu Hao even suspected.

Chu Hao climbed onto the deck, his mood considerably lifted; after all, a mission had been triggered.

The yacht headed towards the deep sea. It was well-equipped for various activities like diving, fishing, and sightseeing—there was plenty to do.

Everyone made much of Lu Feichen. After all, this former classmate was now a significant figure, and his brother-in-law was one of the leading personalities in Longxi City. Consequently, everyone was eager to flatter and curry favor with him.

Several people took the initiative to open bottles of red wine and champagne. Aside from Feng Xiaoxiao, the class reunion was quite cheerful.

On the yacht, Chu Hao noticed someone sitting alone quietly, without any friends nearby—it was the Old Duck hired by Feng Xiaoxiao.

After his identity had been revealed, no one approached him anymore; they all wore expressions of disdain.

Chu Hao found the man rather handsome. Not that I’m interested, of course, he mused, but he does seem quite interesting.

Chu Hao approached and said with a smile, ”Old Duck, just sitting here like this? Why not get something to eat?”

The Old Duck turned, offered a faint smile, and said, ”Are you here to mock me?”

”You’re overthinking things. I’m just curious why you chose this line of work.”

The Old Duck sighed. ”Life forced my hand. I once owned yachts, drove sports cars, and was always surrounded by beautiful women.”

Chu Hao was surprised. This man has quite a story.

The Old Duck’s name was Fan Qizhen, a rather feminine name. He continued, ”My family went bankrupt. My parents died in a car accident, leaving me to repay all their debts. After considering my options, I realized I wasn’t particularly skilled at anything. The low-paying jobs wouldn’t even cover my living expenses, so I ended up in this profession.”

Chu Hao asked, ”If it’s so difficult, why are you thinking of quitting?”

Fan Qizhen smiled. ”I’m just venting. I tell myself I’ll quit once I’ve earned enough money, but that’s just wishful thinking.”

So that’s how it is, Chu Hao thought. As he chatted with Fan Qizhen, many people noticed them and cast surprised glances their way.

Fan Qizhen gave a wry smile. ”Mr. Chu, it would be better if you kept your distance from me.”

Chu Hao waved his hand dismissively. ”They’re not my parents, so what right do they have to dictate what I do? Tell me your story; I’m curious.”

Fan Qizhen looked at Chu Hao in surprise, then nodded. ”Actually, there isn’t much to tell. Besides women, I occasionally serve men who have... needs.”

Chu Hao was speechless. ”...”

HOLY SHIT!!

Chu Hao, completely dumbfounded, stammered, ”Men... men ask for you, and you actually go?”

Fan Qizhen nodded. ”It’s not so strange these days. It’s all the same to me, regardless of who it is, as long as they aren’t too disgusting. I can handle it.”

Damn, bro, you’re something else! Chu Hao thought, impressed.

Speaking of which, Chu Hao had once encountered a bisexual person—Ya Xiao.

Chu Hao was only nineteen. Although he was a master of posturing, he was actually quite naive about the wider world.

Fan Qizhen’s words confirmed the adage: ”The world is vast and full of wonders.” Indeed, such encounters could broaden one’s horizons.

Fan Qizhen said, ”It was nice talking with you, but you should probably go find your girlfriend. I just saw the man who brought everyone onto the yacht dragging her towards the second deck.”

Only then did Chu Hao realize that Luo Yan and Lu Feichen were missing.

He couldn’t help but frown.

Fan Qizhen continued, ”Your girlfriend was dragged away. She was looking for you but couldn’t find you.”

”Damn it! Why didn’t you say so sooner?”

Chu Hao cursed and ran towards the lower deck of the yacht.

On the walkway of the yacht’s second deck, Lu Feichen grabbed Luo Yan’s hand. His breath reeked of alcohol as he slurred, ”Luo Yan, I like you. Be with me. I’ll treat you well.”

Lu Feichen was very worked up, clearly having had a lot to drink.

Luo Yan said coldly, ”Let go of my hand. You’re hurting me.”

Lu Feichen grew even more agitated. ”I’ve been pursuing you since high school! I’ve liked you for so long. I know you must have feelings for me deep down!”

Luo Yan replied, her voice still like ice, ”I have a boyfriend. He’ll come looking for me when he notices I’m gone.”

Hearing this, Lu Feichen flew into a rage. ”That Little White Face? Damn him! I’ll throw him into the sea later! How dare he touch Lu Feichen’s woman!”

Luo Yan coolly retorted, ”You’re no match for him. And another thing! Take your hands off me. I have absolutely no interest in you.”

Lu Feichen’s eyes reddened with fury. ”You say I’m no match for him? Who the hell does that kid think he is? With one phone call, I, Lu Feichen, can make him vanish from this world! He wants to compete with me for a woman? I’ll make sure he ends up dead!”

Just as Chu Hao arrived below deck, he heard Lu Feichen’s threat and instantly sneered.

Lu Feichen leaned in, his mouth reeking of alcohol, about to force a kiss on Luo Yan while still shouting, ”Luo Yan, I like you!”

Enraged, Luo Yan retaliated with a sharp, backhanded slap across his face.

Gritting her teeth, Luo Yan seethed, ”Lu Feichen, don’t push your luck!”

Clutching his stinging cheek in disbelief, Lu Feichen roared, ”You dare hit me? You fucking bitch! Who the hell do you think you are? Aren’t you just some woman from a bankrupt family? What right do you have to act so high and mighty with me?”

Hearing this, Luo Yan grew even more furious.

Lu Feichen sneered, a sinister glint in his eyes. ”Don’t think I haven’t found out. The Luo Family is finished; it’s just you and your mother left. If you ask me, your best bet is to be with me now. If you refuse, I’ll have someone pay your mother a visit tomorrow.”

Luo Yan’s face turned deathly pale. Enraged, she tried to slap him again.

Lu Feichen laughed maniacally, catching her hand and trying to kiss her forcibly.

Luo Yan screamed, despair gripping her heart.

Lu Feichen had been drinking earlier, and she had noticed something unsettling in his gaze. But she hadn’t expected his vile intentions to surface so quickly, especially with no one else around on this deck.

Oh, how I wish Chu Hao would appear right now! she thought desperately.

The thought had barely formed when Chu Hao appeared behind Lu Feichen, grabbing him by the hair.

Lu Feichen yelped in pain, ”AH! Who the hell is grabbing me?”
