Ghost Catching System

A piercing scream penetrated the eardrums, tearing at the heart and lungs, as if it came from the tortures of the Eighteen Layers of Hell. This Underworld Deity, after enduring just one lash, was in unbearable pain.

The pain drilled into his core. To make matters worse, he was in the form of a ghost, wasn’t he? Six times the pain, as if that single lash was equivalent to a full hundred!

”DING... The Ghost-whipping Whip absorbed Ghost Qi. Host has gained 100,000 Experience Points and 100 Mana Points.”

Chu Hao, upon hearing the System notification, couldn’t help but feel ecstatic. Truly worthy of being a divine artifact for whipping ghosts; it can absorb Experience Points and Mana Points!

Another lash came cracking down.

”DING... The Ghost-whipping Whip absorbed Ghost Qi. Host has gained 100,000 Experience Points and 100 Mana Points.”

”AHHHHH!”

Whipping ghosts targeted the soul, causing even more pain than an attack on a physical body. The Underworld Deity curled up, his body shrinking like a dried shrimp, his misery extreme.

”Why don’t you keep ascending to the heavens? Threaten this King again, why don’t you?”

Yet another lash followed.

”DING... The Ghost-whipping Whip absorbed Ghost Qi. Host has gained 100,000 Experience Points and 100 Mana Points.”

”DING... Congratulations to the Host for leveling up to Level 7.”

”DING... Congratulations to the Host for leveling up and for exemplifying the grand spirit of fearless flexing. The System rewards you with one Semi-Diamond Treasure Chest.”

My System is truly powerful.

The screams, like the wails of a fierce ghost, were so agonizing that not only Chu Hao but everyone around him felt pained just from watching.

But to the Underworld Deity, it wasn’t just pain; the Ghost-whipping Whip, as it lashed down, actually started to absorb his Ghost Qi! This truly terrified the Underworld Deity.

Several more lashes cracked, the screams were incessant, and the System notifications kept sounding. Chu Hao became more thrilled the more he whipped. His voice grew louder, and he seemed like a devil, lashing out with his small whip.

”Arrogant, huh!”

”Wild, huh!”

”Threatening, huh!”

”You think you’re so tough?”

The crowd shrank back, clearly sensing Chu Hao’s growing excitement and feeling even more wary of him.

”DING... The Host scared everyone with his show-off antics, gaining 700 Pretentiousness Points.”

To be honest, even if the Underworld Deity had any fight left in him, he had no chance of expressing it. Lying on the ground trembling, he was in too much pain to even cry out.

Yet another lash came down.

”DING... The Ghost-whipping Whip absorbed Ghost Qi. Host has gained 1,000 Experience Points and 10 Mana Points.”

The sudden decrease in Experience Points and Mana Points from the whip’s crack brought Chu Hao’s Thunder Whip to a halt. Brother Hao hadn’t had enough fun yet, and this guy actually ran out of Ghost Qi!

He did a quick count: a total of twenty-seven lashes, gaining 2,700,000 Experience Points and 2,700 Mana Points.

His current attribute interface looked like this:

Pretentious Expert: Chu Hao

Level: 7

Experience Points: 2,700,000 / 8,000,000

Pretentiousness Points: 5,200

Mana Points: 14,700

Merit Points: 60,000

Ghost Servants: Zhao Yun, Confucius, Sadako, Chu Renmei, Jiayeci, Ghost Dragon (Qiu)

Treasure Chest: One Semi-Diamond Treasure Chest

Chu Hao stopped the lashing and asked the System, ”How long can we control him?”

System: ”Three days.”

Hearing it was three days, Chu Hao chuckled happily. Three days is plenty of time for Brother Hao to deal with you.

Chu Hao kicked the Underworld Deity. ”Get up! Stop playing dead.”

The Underworld Deity convulsed on the ground. Forget getting up; it felt nearly impossible for him to even take a breath. Chu Hao was too ruthless.

Chu Hao thought for a bit. He couldn’t waste this opportunity; he definitely needed to earn something from this guy. He immediately had another idea.

So, Chu Hao took out the Taisui Meat he had bought earlier.

The figure on the ground sniffed, then slowly opened his eyes.

”You!?” The Underworld Deity now hated Chu Hao to the core.

Chu Hao indeed couldn’t kill him, but he had truly trapped him. Recalling the whipping he just endured, he wanted to go mad.

Chu Hao’s expression changed. ”Tell me! Do you still want to mess with me?”

”I...” The Underworld Deity still couldn’t bring himself to speak the truth. Who knew if Chu Hao might fly into a rage and whip him again?

Chu Hao said disdainfully, ”You don’t even have the energy to talk. Eat this, then we’ll continue our discussion.”

This Taisui Meat… is really for me to eat?

Going by the principle of ”if it’s free, take it,” he was indeed very weak at the moment, barely able to speak. He quickly ate the Taisui Meat, fearing Chu Hao would change his mind.

Finally, a good portion of the Underworld Deity’s Ghost Qi recovered.

However, the Underworld Deity was going mad. What exactly is Chu Hao trying to do? Whipping me savagely and then giving me a treat? Does he really think that I, a dignitary of the Underworld, will let this slide?

”Chu Hao, what exactly have you done to me?” roared the Underworld Deity.

At that moment, the entire conference hall was deathly quiet. Everyone watched silently, unable to fathom what Chu Hao was up to, allowing the Underworld Deity to regain his strength.

Chu Hao sat on his chair, speaking indifferently, ”How much have you recovered?”

The Underworld Deity bellowed, ”What on earth are you trying to do? Don’t think that by doing this, I will let you go!”

He was truly furious. He, a mighty Underworld Deity, had been whipped by a living person and taught such a harsh lesson. If word got out, how could he ever show his face again?

Chu Hao stood up, wielding the Thunder Whip, and lashed out again.

”SMACK!”

The Underworld Deity screamed in pain, and everyone watched Chu Hao in astonishment.

”DING... Ghost-whipping Whip absorbs Ghost Qi. Host gains 100,000 Experience Points and 100 Mana Points.”

Yes! It’s back!

Chu Hao was ecstatic inside, but he put on a stern face and said, ”This Taoist Master hasn’t had enough fun yet. I don’t want to whip a piece of wood; I prefer to hear screams.”

”DING... Host has doubled their Pretentiousness Points by excessively frightening others, earning 1,400 points.”

The crowd thought, Too terrifying! No one should ever provoke Chu Hao. Is this guy even human?

The group of people behind him shrank their necks, their expressions terrified. The man wielding the Thunder Whip is the real ghost, a true devil—the Devil, King Chubi!

As for the Underworld Deity, his inner world was collapsing.

This time, it took ten whips before the Experience Points and Mana Points stopped coming.

Chu Hao eyed the Underworld Deity greedily. ”Keep eating.”

”No... Don’t.”

If the Underworld Deity was merely angry before, now he was terrified. Sicko!

”Are you going to eat it or not!” Chu Hao’s face was stern.

The Underworld Deity trembled. ”I won’t eat, I won’t eat it! Please spare me!”

”Spare you? This Taoist Master hasn’t had enough fun yet. I need you to cooperate,” Chu Hao said.

His words genuinely scared the Underworld Deity, who shook his head desperately, regretting ever possessing the Ghost Path Sect Leader.

Chu Hao stood up with a sneer. ”Tie him up. Brother Hao is going to have a good time playing with him these next few days.”

A few people came forward and quickly tied up the Underworld Deity. In truth, there was no need to tie him; he was as limp as a pile of wet mud.

This made everyone’s admiration for Chu Hao surge like the endless Yellow River. Brother Hao, you are the true deity!

”I apologize to you! Please stop torturing me! I swear I won’t bother you again,” the Underworld Deity pleaded, truly frightened.

Chu Hao sneered. ”Bother me? Right now, I’m the one bothering you. You thought you were so tough? This is the Yang Realm, not the Underworld. I have all the time in the world to play with you slowly.”

”Me!?” The Underworld Deity was on the verge of tears. Why did I provoke this Death God? Why, why?!
