Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Jenna:

I had no idea where this man had come from or how he had appeared.

But I knew one thing.

I had completely lost myself.

I still hadn’t fully come back to my senses.

The reality of what had happened hadn’t even sunk in yet.

I slowly lifted my head toward the sky and stared at it for a few seconds.

”I’m sitting before you in search of justice,” I whimpered, my body shaking terribly. ”I’m not a bad woman. Please, I didn’t betray anyone. I didn’t cheat anyone. The only crime I committed was loving someone whose rank is far higher than mine.”

I sniffled, hiccuping as I touched my cheeks.

I had no clue what had happened, how it had happened, or how I was going to forget it.

”But you have to help me. You always say you will. You help every woman who has been wronged. So please, I want this man to be punished.”

As I said those words, I noticed my tears falling into the river, where they almost seemed to sparkle.

”Please, punish the one who wronged me,” I finished, sniffling as I quickly washed my face in the water.

I quickly climbed out of the water and pulled my coat over my soaked clothes.

Then I headed toward the road.

Sadly, the car Theodore had left for me was already gone.

I couldn’t understand how that was even possible.

Sadly, I had to walk home, carrying nothing but shame.

As I hurried along, I kept calling Theodore.

He wasn’t answering any of my calls.

I couldn’t understand why he had sent the car away.

After that, I did the only thing I could think of.

I called Gigi.

”Gigi—” I whispered, whimpering.

Morning was almost here.

If I wasn’t home by sunrise, everyone would be awake.

Ragnar, and the others would probably be out for their morning walk or jog.

Someone was bound to see me.

The warriors would be awake too, already on alert.

My heart was pounding.

I was terrified.

I had to get home as quickly as possible.

”Jenna, what’s going on? Why are you calling me at this hour?” Gigi asked.

She sounded so relaxed, so comfortable in her bed.

I couldn’t help wondering why my life had turned out like this.

Why couldn’t I sleep peacefully the way Gigi could?

I wished I were like her.

Ragnar loved her so much that he never asked her to sneak out to meet him.

He never made her hide their relationship.

He openly accepted her in front of everyone.

I wished Theodore had done the same for me.

If he had, I wouldn’t have been standing on an unfamiliar road in soaking wet clothes.

Whenever a car drove past, the men inside stared at me in a way that made my skin crawl.

”Gigi, I’m stranded on a road,” I whispered, letting out a quiet sob. ”Please—please, can you get me a car?” I pleaded.

My mind wasn’t working at all.

It should have occurred to me to order a cab myself.

Gigi was the one who made me realize that.

”Okay, where are you? Share your location with me. I’ll send you a cab,” she replied.

I sniffled, wishing I could see her soon so I could tell her everything that had happened.

”Are you okay, though?” she asked.

”No, I’m not okay,” I replied. ”Can you please come to the mansion? I need to talk to you.”

I begged through my tears.

”Today?” she asked, sounding as though I had made an unreasonable request.

”I’ll see. Just go home, okay? I’m really tired right now. We’ll talk in the morning.”

With that, she hung up.

I remained standing there with the phone pressed against my ear.

Whenever a car slowed down nearby, I deliberately started speaking loudly.

”Okay, you’re looking at me, right? So where are you?”

I pretended the person I was talking to had only stepped away for a moment and could still see me.

I was terrified.

I felt like I was about to faint.

Thankfully, the cab arrived soon.

I got inside and quietly sat there, praying I’d make it home before sunrise.

It was still dark when I reached the mansion.

As I headed inside, I noticed one of the warriors looking at me.

I thought he had seen me before, but he never said anything.

As far as I knew, he respected Gigi enough to keep quiet.

I ran toward my window.

The moment I climbed through it, I was so frightened and traumatized that I went in headfirst.

My head slammed against the floor.

The next thing I knew, everything went black.

I passed out on the cold floor.

When I woke up, my mother was banging loudly on my door.

”That’s enough studying. You can’t study for this many hours without a break. Fucking open the door!” my mother shouted.

I lifted my head and looked at the time.

It was the evening of the next day.

The entire night had passed.

The whole morning was gone.

The afternoon had passed as well.

And now it was evening.

I struggled to my feet, but my knees nearly gave out as the realization finally hit me.

That stranger—

He had forced himself on me.

But then I whispered, ”I consented.”

”No, that wasn’t consent, you idiot.”

My wolf growled back at me.

”He left you no choice. He blackmailed you. He threatened you.”

As those thoughts echoed through my head, I collapsed to my knees, my body trembling as the full weight of what had happened finally sank in.

”No—” I whimpered.

”No— this can’t be true.”

”I can’t—”

I started hyperventilating.

”This— this is so disgusting. Oh Goddess–”

I broke down sobbing, but no matter how much I cried, I couldn’t calm myself.

The pain wouldn’t ease.

Outside, my mother kept pounding on the door, demanding that I come out.

”Everybody is getting ready for evening tea. You’d better be out here too!” she shouted.

Then I heard her kick the door before her footsteps gradually faded away.
