Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 366: Chapter 335: Hunting the Wind God Winged Dragon

The afternoon sun pierced through the branches of the ironthorn trees, casting scorching patches of light among the jumble of rocks.

An arid, scorching scent permeated the air. All life on the hill seemed to be slumbering, save for some nameless insects that buzzed tirelessly.

Raylo leaned against a massive granite boulder, completely enveloped by its shadow.

He remained motionless, his eyes peering through a fissure in the rock to periodically scan the distant sky.

In his arms, a small, furry black creature began to wriggle impatiently.

Coal Ball rubbed its small head against Raylo’s chest plate, an insistent rumbling sound gurgling from its throat.

It had been waiting here for nearly two hours. For a lively and active Space Young Dragon, this was nothing short of unbearable torture.

It twisted its body, trying to slip out of Raylo’s embrace and go explore the nearby undergrowth.

A large hand settled firmly on the scruff of its neck. The pressure was light, but it allowed no resistance.

”Settle down.”

Raylo patted its head.

Dejectedly, Coal Ball stopped moving. It glanced up at Raylo with its large, black gemstone-like eyes, then buried its head again. Only the tip of its tail continued to flick back and forth in defiance, making a soft TAP... TAP... against Raylo’s arm guard.

Time flowed by in silence.

The Hill Giants displayed a budding discipline and patience born from their training. Their massive forms were concealed behind scattered boulders and giant trees, their presence completely suppressed.

Suddenly, a dragon’s roar that could pierce the clouds and shatter stone echoed from the horizon, shattering the afternoon’s tranquility.

Raylo’s gaze sharpened, and he instantly looked up.

At the edge of his vision, a golden speck of light was streaking desperately toward the hill.

It was Sun.

Behind him, a swift black dot gave chase relentlessly. Each beat of its wings stirred visible air currents as it steadily closed the distance to the golden speck ahead.

It was their target: the Wind God Winged Dragon.

The Wind God Winged Dragon was a natural child of the wind; commanding the gales was instinctual to it. Its speed surpassed that of the Golden Dragon, Sun, who was renowned for his Power and overall capabilities.

By now, the two Giant Dragons had already engaged in several harrowing clashes in the sky.

Several bone-deep claw marks scarred Sun’s massive Dragon Wings, and his flight had grown unsteady, as if he might plummet from exhaustion at any moment.

He was executing Raylo’s plan: feigning weakness the entire time, pretending to be outmatched, successfully luring the Wind God Winged Dragon—which had left its lair to hunt—to this very spot.

The Wind God Winged Dragon clearly considered the Golden Dragon that had trespassed into its territory to be prey already in its grasp. It let out a series of roars as the Wind Element Magic Power between its wings condensed, forming a barrage of cyan Wind Blades that rained down upon Sun.

Sun dodged clumsily, his golden Dragon Flame sputtering intermittently—the very picture of flagging strength.

He suddenly dove, his massive body skimming just a few dozen meters above the hilltop. The fierce wind in his wake kicked up clouds of dust from the ground.

Seeing its prey attempt a low-altitude escape, the Wind God Winged Dragon in pursuit let out a piercing roar. It tucked its wings sharply, its entire body diving like an arrow loosed from a bow. Its massive, sharp claws were already spread, ready to deliver the final blow to the insolent Golden Dragon.

In a flash, just after passing the hill, Sun’s massive body came to a sudden halt in a completely unnatural fashion.

His seemingly clumsy draconic form spun on a dime in mid-air. His wings beat at an unprecedented frequency, wrenching his massive body around to face the diving Wind God Winged Dragon head-on.

”ROAR!”

It was an earth-shattering roar, no longer laced with the weakness from before.

Light and heat erupted violently from Sun’s body.

He was no longer a Giant Dragon, but a blazing sun hanging low in the sky.

The golden radiance was so blinding one could not open their eyes, and the terrifying heat instantly distorted the air.

Sun Furnace Domain, activate!

For the first time, a flicker of astonishment appeared in the Wind God Winged Dragon’s impassive, slitted pupils.

It felt the terrifying energy, an energy capable of melting steel, and instantly understood it had fallen into a trap.

But as an overlord of the skies, it showed no sign of retreat.

With an even shriller roar, the Wind God Winged Dragon faced the golden sun head-on as a cyan storm gathered and swirled furiously around it.

Wind God Domain, activate!

The cyan storm and the golden furnace collided violently in mid-air, unleashing visible ripples of energy.

Just as the Wind God Winged Dragon focused all its attention on its Domain battle with Sun, the situation changed in an instant.

From behind the massive boulders on the hill below, huge figures suddenly rose.

Fifteen Hill Giants raised their rippling, muscular arms high, each gripping a Refined Iron Javelin.

”HRAH!”

Kado, their leader, let out a thunderous cry.

More than a dozen black specks glinting with a cold light shot upwards. Like bolts fired from Crossbow Cannons, they tore through the air with a sharp whistle, aimed at the Wind God Winged Dragon.

The sudden attack stunned the Wind God Winged Dragon.

It never would have dreamed that so many enemies lay hidden on this unremarkable hill.

In its shock and fury, it instinctively whipped up a gale.

The Power of its Wind God Domain was instantly mobilized, forming a high-speed, rotating storm Barrier around its body.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

A rapid series of metallic clashes rang out.

The moment they struck the storm Barrier, most of the Javelins were deflected by the immense rotational force, changing course and flying harmlessly into the distance.
