Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 244: Chapter 238: I Don’t Need Evidence to Arrest People

Raylo rode Baofeng, hovering in the sky above Eagle’s Nest Castle. His voice, enhanced by Wind Magic, carried clearly into the castle below.

”Baron of Eagle’s Nest Castle, hand over Miss Avril. My patience is limited.”

No evidence, no details of the accusation, just a simple, direct demand.

An uproar erupted below.

A moment later, a slightly overweight, middle-aged man in opulent clothes walked onto the battlements. He was the Baron of Eagle’s Nest Castle.

He looked up at Raylo in the sky, a flash of panic on his face that was quickly replaced by anger.

”Count Raylo! What is the meaning of this?!”

The Baron’s voice was filled with righteous indignation.

”Miss Avril is Marquis Orlando’s daughter, how would I know her whereabouts! You barge into my territory for no reason and speak to me in such a tone. This is a blatant provocation against a nobleman! Aren’t you afraid of the Duke’s punishment!”

Raylo’s gaze didn’t waver in the slightest.

’Whether Avril is here or not is unimportant.’

’What’s important is that this ”Baron” before me, an Illusion Monster in disguise, must be exposed to the sun.’

’With Marquis Orlando backing this operation, I don’t need to worry about any consequences.’

”It seems you need a little pressure to recognize the reality of your situation,” Raylo said coolly.

He glanced at Sun.

The Golden Dragon understood at once.

ROAR!

A deafening roar echoed through the heavens.

The Transformation Technique on Sun shattered instantly. Its body, which had been compressed to ten meters, began to expand rapidly at a rate visible to the naked eye.

Ten meters, twenty meters, fifty meters... until it returned to its terrifying one-hundred-meter form!

Its golden scales shimmered in the sunlight, looking as if they were forged from molten Gold.

Its massive wings snapped open, and their shadow instantly enveloped all of Eagle’s Nest Castle.

That terrifying Dragon Mighty, stemming from the apex of the food chain, swept down like a physical tide.

The soldiers on the city walls turned deathly pale, their legs grew weak, and even the hands gripping their Weapons trembled uncontrollably.

Even the few crossbowmen operating the Giant Crossbows froze in place, forgetting to reload.

As they watched in utter terror, the golden Giant Dragon dove.

It didn’t use Dragon Breath or even any Magic.

It relied solely on its incomparably massive body and Power.

BOOM!

A tower was effortlessly smashed to pieces by the Golden Dragon’s giant claws, and rubble rained down.

The six Giant Crossbows, which had looked so menacing moments before, were as fragile as children’s toys before it. A single sweep from the edge of its wing turned them into a pile of twisted metal and wood splinters.

The entire process took only a few short minutes.

When Sun slowly brought its golden head, as large as a house, close to the city wall and looked down upon the Baron of Eagle’s Nest Castle with eyes that burned with golden Flame, the entire world fell silent.

Dust and debris were still trickling down.

Riding Baofeng, Raylo landed smoothly in the castle courtyard with four Griffin Knights.

The heavy Griffin Iron Claws stepped onto the Stone Slabs with a crisp sound, as if tolling the death knell for this farce.

”Raylo! You... this is an invasion! An outright invasion!”

The Baron of Eagle’s Nest Castle’s voice turned shrill with fear. He blustered, yet did not dare to take a single step forward.

The Golden Dragon’s icy gaze made him feel as if his very soul was freezing.

Raylo dismounted and slowly walked up to him. Moonlight, who had been on his shoulder, leaped lightly to the ground and circled the Baron with an elegant, cat-like gait.

Moonlight stopped, and a silver glint suddenly lit up in its pale golden eyes.

A soft, pure pillar of light shot out from its eyes, enveloping the Baron of Eagle’s Nest Castle.

This wasn’t an offensive Magic, but an extremely High Tier Purification Divine Technique capable of dispelling magical disguises and Illusions.

”No!”

The Baron let out a shrill scream that didn’t sound human.

In the silver light, his body twisted and deformed violently.

His opulent robes were torn apart. His corpulent body rapidly shriveled, his skin turning pale and viscous. His facial features melted and reorganized, finally transforming him into a humanoid monster with no fixed shape, greyish-white all over, like flowing sludge.

An Illusion Monster!

The surrounding Knights of Eagle’s Nest Castle were all stunned. Their swords fell to the ground with a CLANG, their faces filled with incredulous horror.

The Lord they had sworn fealty to was actually a cunning and evil monster from legend!

”Die! You all have to die!”

Having reverted to its true form, the Illusion Monster let out a piercing shriek. Magic Power surged around its body, and it was just about to cast a deadly Magic to take revenge on Raylo.

However, its movements came to an abrupt halt. A giant, golden-scaled claw descended from the sky and, as casually as swatting a fly, pinned it to the ground.

KABOOM!

The ground cracked. The Illusion Monster was pinned firmly beneath the claw, and no matter how it struggled, it could not shake that mountain-like Power.

”Tie it up.”

Raylo gestured to the Personal Guards behind him.

Two Personal Guards immediately stepped forward and used a special Magic Rope to bind the immobilized Illusion Monster tightly.

The surrounding Knights of Eagle’s Nest Castle were all dumbfounded.

From Raylo’s arrival, to the Giant Dragon’s destruction of their defenses, to their Lord being forced into his monstrous true form and subdued in a single move—the entire sequence of events was bewilderingly fast.

The reversal was so sudden, their minds couldn’t keep up.

Raylo’s voice was calm as he glanced around at the Knights, who were all looking at each other in dismay.

”As you can see, your Baron was killed long ago. This Illusion Monster stole his identity and his domain.”

A middle-aged man who looked like a captain paled and flushed several times before finally dropping the Long Sword in his hand and kneeling on one knee.

”My Lord... we... we truly didn’t know!”

For a moment, the only sounds in the courtyard were the whistling of the wind and the heavy, mountain-like breathing of Sun.

The golden Giant Dragon’s massive head tilted slightly, its golden eyes, which seemed to burn with Flame, staring indifferently at the kneeling Knights of Eagle’s Nest Castle, as if scrutinizing a group of insignificant ants.

Raylo didn’t immediately address the kneeling Knights.

He walked over to the Illusion Monster and crouched down.

The monster was trussed up tightly and still writhing in vain. Pustules occasionally bulged on the surface of its greyish-white body before quickly subsiding, making disgusting squelching sounds.

”Where is Avril?”

The Illusion Monster’s struggles paused for a moment.

”Die... you all have to die...”

Raylo stood up, his face expressionless, and nodded to the Personal Guard behind him.

The Personal Guard understood, stepped forward, and planted a foot on the constantly shifting lump of flesh that was the Illusion Monster.

”Lord Earl is asking you a question. You’d best think carefully before you answer.”

He pressed down with his iron boot, and the monster immediately let out a silent, agonized shriek, its mental fluctuations becoming chaotic.
