Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4519: History is Written I

History.

Many argued endlessly about what history actually was, debating definitions and methodologies with the passion of scholars who had devoted lifetimes to the subject.

But what was history actually, when one stripped away all pretense?

Were they not simply stories that were passed down from those who had lived longer than others? Tales told by survivors, by victors, by those with the power to ensure their version endured?

So could history always be accurate if those who had lived longer simply passed down stories of their own fabrications, shaped by bias and self-interest? Was any history actually true history, based on the accounts of many, or preserved in written texts and records that themselves could be altered and fabricated at will?

Unless one was able to go back in time to see how things actually unfolded with their own eyes, could they truly say they knew and understood the true history? Or were they simply being fed lies dressed up as truth, generation after generation?

There were countless Stories of The Earliest Folds that spoke of THE Living Existences and THE Creature. Of Early Creatures, Inevitabilities, and Fold Dwellers who shaped reality through their conflicts and achievements.

But was that all there was to history, these grand narratives of powers and conflicts?

Because the most pivotal thing that many needed to understand and grasp was that history was written by the victors. History was always, inevitably, written by those who survived and triumphed.

And they could weave whatever story they wished, painting themselves as heroes or saviors, casting their enemies as monsters or tyrants, regardless of what actually occurred.

Truth became whatever the powerful decided it should be.

Truth could be written.

History could be written!

In the Infinite Unfurling.

Noah stood in the decimated volcanic region, surrounded by the aftermath of his brutal victory. The ground was scorched black for light-years in every direction, molten rivers cooled into twisted formations of glass and obsidian.

He was looking at a set of prompts that bloomed before his vision with brilliant light, and his own existence continued to buzz with glory as his Way advanced further and further with each battle.

...!

Oh!

After Noah observed these prompts with satisfaction, Tor appeared before him with an approving smile.

”Ready?” he asked simply. ”The next one is not stationary as they are on the move across the Infinite Unfurling.”

After such words, Noah gave a light nod of acknowledgment.

Obsidian-crimson light wrapped around both of them like a protective cocoon, and they disappeared once more into the vast expanse.

—

An unknown number of Gigaparsecs away from Noah and Tor, in a different region of the Infinite Unfurling.

The domain was filled with radiant purple brilliance that pulsed in rhythmic waves across impossible distances. Blazing fiery purple numbers in different runic etchings floated powerfully throughout the space, each one burning with the unmistakable allure of the authority of time.

Numbers that represented moments, durations, sequences, and causality itself drifted like embers on unseen currents.

The entire region was suffused with the potent authority of time in its rawest form. Past, present, and future existed simultaneously here, creating a disorienting effect where one could see echoes of what had been and shadows of what might yet be.

Crystalline structures grew in impossible spirals, their formation both complete and ongoing depending on which temporal layer one observed. Rivers of temporal energy flowed upward and downward simultaneously, defying conventional direction.

At the very peak of this domain floated a smooth round purple crystalline structure the size of a continent, perfectly spherical and rotating slowly on multiple axes at once.

And on that structure, the auras of utterly terrifying beings could be felt radiating outward with suffocating intensity.

One aura was immensely domineering, their Way of existence truly and fully established as they burned with terrifying waves of THECivilizational Authority of Time. This was not someone approaching THE but someone who had achieved it and deepened their claim!

There were a few others that orbited around such terrifying authority like planets around a star, and all of them seemed to be at the Pre-THE stage of power. Each one was formidable individually, but together they created a constellation of authority that would be devastating.

At this moment, the entity that emanated the aura of THE floated casually on a pulsing purple sea of temporal energy that formed beneath them like a throne. The dozen or so Pre-THE Existences formed a circle around them in a posture of attentive listening, as if receiving teachings from a master.

The Way of Time swirled all around with terrifying potency, and its origin was an extremely wild-looking woman who possessed rabbit ears that twitched with each fluctuation of temporal authority.

She was humanoid in basic structure but clearly not purely so. Her rabbit features included not just the ears but also digitigradelegs that ended in powerful clawed feet, and a subtle coat of fine fur that covered portions of her exposed skin.

Her eyes pulsed with purple brilliance that seemed to see through multiple timelines simultaneously, giving her gaze an unsettling quality of knowing what you would do before you did it!
