Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1145: Chapter 1147: Striking from Within the Jail_1

Bai Ruozhu saw the lecherous look flash through his eyes and knew what he was going to do, fearing it was also Imperial Concubine Liu’s instigation.

What could make a woman most miserable? Imperial Concubine Liu was truly malicious.

Her fingertips hidden in her sleeve slightly moved, and a small bottle came to hand, its cap stealthily opened. With Space to assist her, poisoning someone had indeed become an art form.

The next second, Bai Ruozhu inwardly praised her quick reflexes because Wu Zhishang, who had probably heard of her capabilities, suddenly threw a copper coin from the outside that hit her acupoint, and she was instantly immobilized.

She deliberately showed a look of shock, and Wu Zhishang’s laughter became more lewd as he leisurely searched his key ring for the key to this prison cell, unlocking the tightly secured door.

”It’s a pity I have to seal your mute point, otherwise, I would love to hear your cries, which must be so graceful.” Wu Zhishang walked up to Bai Ruozhu, extending two fingers to stroke her cheek, ”Such tender skin, and no sign of having borne a child, I can thoroughly enjoy myself tonight.”

After he finished, he laughed lowly, a sound so revolting that Bai Ruozhu did not need to pretend to show an expression of disgust and anxiety, counting incessantly in her mind; the drug took effect quickly, and she did not want to be touched by Wu Zhishang a second time.

Just then, the sound of a door being flung open came from not far away. Before Wu Zhishang could see what was happening, a figure rushed in like the wind.

”You cur, I’ll kill you!” Ning Yu’s face was flushed with anger, feeling immensely guilty for having implicated Bai Ruozhu, and upon seeing Wu Zhishang’s attempted assault on her, his rage made him want to tear Wu Zhishang apart with his bare hands.

Bai Ruozhu’s acupoints had been sealed, rendering her unable to speak. Her heart gave a few twinges – she could have handled this by herself, and now Ning Yu was unnecessarily causing a commotion. If discovered, it would look like Ning Yu was escaping from jail, and since he had previously slandered the Former Emperor, wasn’t this just adding another crime to his record?

In a hurry, she tried to communicate with Ning Yu using eye signals, but Ning Yu was already fighting with Wu Zhishang and paid no attention to her nearly rolling her eyes in extreme discomfort.

”Ning Yu, if you dare to injure me, it means you’re trying to escape. Perfect, I can say that you escaped to rescue Bai Ruozhu, and I happened to discover and tried to stop you...” Wu Zhishang’s voice grew fainter and fainter, then his body softened, and he collapsed to the ground.

Ning Yu slapped Wu Zhishang, and only then did he notice his strength had greatly diminished. Quickly coming to his senses, he immediately looked at Bai Ruozhu, who internally screamed, ’Brother, unseal my acupoint... unseal my acupoint...’

Unfortunately, Ning Yu glanced at Bai Ruozhu and also collapsed to the ground.

Bai Ruozhu suddenly felt an urge to vomit ten liters of blood. With the situation as it was, how could she possibly explain herself? If someone saw this, they could really interpret it as Wu Zhishang had suggested. She wanted to remedy the situation, but her acupoints had been sealed and she couldn’t move a muscle!

Fortunately, Bai Ruozhu was always composed. She quickly calmed down and began to use her inner strength to strike at her acupoints, grateful that she had learned Martial Arts and had some inner strength now. Plus, Wu Zhishang’s use of the copper coin for Acupoint Sealing had reduced the force, so breaking through the obstruction in her acupoints was not too difficult.

About half an hour later, her acupoint finally opened, and she quickly put away the Porcelain Bottle in her hand, summoning an Antidote from her Space with a mere thought and administering it to the fainted Ning Yu.

Ning Yu slowly regained consciousness and looked at Bai Ruozhu, asking anxiously, ”Are you alright?”

Bai Ruozhu gestured for silence, ”Big brother, I almost got in trouble because of you. You’ve come out, which is the same as escaping from jail. Being caught would be attacking the guard, and now I would also be considered your accomplice.”

Ning Yu’s somewhat pale face flushed with embarrassment, ”Sorry, I was too rash.”

”It’s no big deal, don’t mention it, hurry back to your cell. Is the lock not broken?” Bai Ruozhu silently cursed her luck, how would she explain if the lock was broken?

Ning Yu scratched his head and said, ”It’s not broken, I opened it with a strand of hair.”

Bai Ruozhu’s eyes widened in disbelief, ”A strand of hair?” But she quickly realized that now was not the time to discuss it, ”You should hurry back to the cell and lock it up again with that strand of hair, and pretend you know nothing.”

Ning Yu was pushed out of the cell by Bai Ruozhu, looking worriedly at Wu Zhishang lying unconscious on the floor, he asked, ”What about you?”

Bai Ruozhu gave him an exasperated look, ”Can’t I handle this myself? I’ll deal with him.”

Ning Yu did not dare to delay, quickly returned to his cell, and locked it again. Bai Ruozhu listened to the noise and breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that no one had come by. But soon she figured out what had happened. It must have been Wu Zhishang who had somehow drawn everyone away, lest the people who came to inspect the cells would ”ruin his good deed.”

With that thought, Bai Ruozhu ruthlessly stepped on Wu Zhishang, precisely on his vital spot, causing the unconscious man to moan in pain, which was extremely agonizing.

Bai Ruozhu lifted her hand at the tip of his nose, and the corners of her lips slightly curled up.

So, he wanted to make a move on her, huh? Did he really think that Bai Ruozhu was easy to bully? Thinking he could use such malicious tricks against her? She swore that even if he managed to escape punishment for this incident, he would never be able to be a man again in his life!

Wu Zhishang twisted in agony in his sleep but was unable to awaken from his stupor, as though he was trapped in a bizarre dream, wanting to open his eyes but utterly unable to do so.

The next morning, the Royal Guards Captain came to inspect the cells. From a distance, he saw the cell door ajar and immediately tensed up and rushed over. But when he saw Bai Ruozhu sitting calmly on the bed in the cell, he heaved a great sigh of relief.

Suddenly, he noticed Wu Zhishang unconscious on the ground, and his expression drastically changed as he quickly realized what had transpired.

”Madam Jiang, this...” Liu Sitong broke out in a cold sweat, remembering the Empress Dowager’s instructions from the previous day to take care of Madam Jiang. If something had happened to her in the cell, he feared that even a few of his heads wouldn’t be enough to pay for it.

”This man sneaked into my cell in the dead of night. Did he truly think I, Bai Ruozhu, could be slaughtered at will? My medical skills were not learned in vain! Take him to see the Empress Dowager and the Emperor, and tell them I want an explanation,” Bai Ruozhu’s eyes opened wide, shooting out two beams of cold light that made the nearby Liu Sitong feel as though the temperature around him had dropped.

”Yes, yes, I will take care of it immediately,” Liu Sitong hauled up Wu Zhishang angrily, with rough movements as though carrying a torn sack.

”Wait, don’t carry him out like that. Think of a way yourself, and don’t cause gossip,” Bai Ruozhu instructed.

Liu Sitong thought about it and carefully replied, ”I shall say he drank too much last night in the cell with the guard on duty, neglecting his responsibilities. How does that sound?”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”That’ll work. Remember to tell the Emperor and the Empress Dowager that he wanted to extract a confession through torture, naturally, I wouldn’t utter nonsense.”
