Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 267: Chapter 267: If Not the Big, Then the Small Ones Stir up Trouble

The visitor was Bai Ruomei, with Lu Donghai in her arms. Lu Donghai had lost a lot of weight, but because he was previously so fat, he still looked like a big fat boy to others.

Because of their previous punishment, the Wang Family had come to make a fuss and ended up being punished as well. So when Bai Ruomei appeared, everyone frowned, wondering if Bai Ruomei was here to cause trouble?

Under everyone’s worried gaze, Bai Ruomei walked over with Lu Donghai in her arms, her face suddenly breaking into a smile and greeting everyone.

”Uncle, aunt, Zehao, Ruozhu, I’m here to disturb you.” Bai Ruomei’s tone was very polite, even bordering on flattery.

Seeing Bai Ruomei’s cordial attitude, everyone relaxed, not because they were afraid of Bai Ruomei, but because nobody wanted to constantly deal with troublesome matters. They ran their businesses with a focus on maintaining peace. Trouble seemed to come from the old mansion or the Wang Family every other day, and if more people came to stir things up, it would really affect business.

Especially today, as it was the first day of the cooperation between the Bai Family and the Lin Family to sell knitted hats. If Lin Family’s business was affected, Bai Family would feel even more embarrassed.

”Why did Ruomei come? Donghai seems to have lost a lot of weight.” Lin Ping was the first to react, putting on a smile to greet Bai Ruomei. Despite whatever disagreements she had with the couple from the main room, Bai Ruomei was, in the end, the niece of Bai Yihong and Lin Ping.

Bai Ruomei replied with a smile, ”I came to see you. I’m really grateful for Ruozhu’s advice about Donghai’s condition. Later, when we consulted the doctor in the city, he said the same thing as Ruozhu did. I’ve been wanting to thank you, but I was so preoccupied with the child’s treatment.”

Lin Ping looked at Lu Donghai with sympathy and replied softly: ”You’ve had a hard time. I hope the child gets better soon. How is he now?”

” Much better, but still needs to be monitored.” As Bai Ruomei said this, she struggled to hold up Lu Donghai a bit higher, and unintentionally revealed a look of fatigue.

Bai Ruozhu felt tired just looking at her. Despite Lu Donghai having lost much weight, he was still nearly an 80 kg child. No wonder she was exhausted from holding him constantly.

”Sister Ruomei, children should also exercise appropriately. That way, their recovery would be better. You shouldn’t always hold him,” Bai Ruozhu reminded her.

She knew that Bai Ruomei hadn’t come specifically to express her thanks. If she had, she would have done this long ago. To say that she had been too preoccupied with the child’s condition was nothing but an excuse, right?

But after all, the child was innocent, and Bai Ruomei’s attitude wasn’t bad either, prompting Bai Ruozhu to courteously put forth the suggestion.

”Ah? Is that so? Donghai, you should get down and play for a while.” Bai Ruomei put Lu Donghai down as she said this.

Unfortunately, Lu Donghai had grown accustomed to laziness and refused to get down, shouting instead, ”I’m so tired. I’m hungry. Mom, carry me.”

Making eye contact with Xiaosi, Bai Ruomei quickly said, ”Go play with your Fourth Uncle.”

Unexpectedly, Lu Donghai turned his body and said disdainfully, ”I’m not going to play with the idiot!”

Bai Ruozhu shot him a stern look. She thought children were innocent and harmless, even when they spoke thoughtlessly, but who had told him that Xiaosi was an idiot? Who had raised this child?

Bai Ruomei, startled by Bai Ruozhu’s stern glance, remembered her purpose for coming, and hastily scolded Lu Donghai, ”What nonsense are you talking about? Stop it or I’ll hit you!”

In reality, the spanking Bai Ruomei gave was not that hard, it was merely a light tap since she loved her son too much. But even so, Lu Donghai immediately started crying. His cry was not only loud, but also featured intermittent wailing, attracting quite a bit of attention.

Bai Ruozhu and her mother exchanged looks. This child had been spoiled too much.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t have time to deal with Lu Donghai. She walked over to Xiaosi and whispered to him, ”He doesn’t know any better, don’t take it to heart.”

Xiaosi nodded and replied, ”He’s younger than me. I won’t hold a grudge.”

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh. Xiaosi, a six-year-old kid, gave off an air of maturity when he said this, which was quite funny.

Niuniu came over and took Xiaosi’s hand, saying, ”Brother Xiaosi, let’s play together.”

Fusa glared at Niuniu and said, ”You love to call out. You should call him Uncle Xiaosi.”

Niuniu pouted. She was obviously unwilling. After all, Xiaosi was only a year older than her. She would never want to call him Uncle Xiaosi.

”Niuniu calls me sister, so she should call Xiaosi brother, right? Don’t be hard on the child. She finally has a playmate of her age. They can call each other whatever they like.” Bai Ruozhu laughed, rubbing Niuniu’s head and dislodging her hat. Niuniu quickly adjusted it, obviously very happy.

”Sister Ruozhu, you’re so nice!” Niuniu blushingly thanked her sweetly.

Bai Ruozhu had a huge grin on her face. She considered making another hat in a different style for Niuniu when she returned home. Girls dressed up looked so pretty.

On the other side, after wailing for a while and glancing over here with his teary eyes, Lu Donghai perked up at the sight of Niuniu. He wiped his tears away, stopped crying, and waddled towards Niuniu with his chubby body.

”Your hat looks really good,” Lu Donghai sniffed and commented.

At Lu Donghai’s comment, Bai Ruozhu almost burst into laughter. So this little fatty was trying to flirt with a girl already?

Niuniu, feeling a bit shy, stepped back and said, ”Thank you”. However, she apparently didn’t like Lu Donghai and didn’t want to play with him.

Lu Donghai stared at Niuniu’s hat until his eyes went wide and said, ”Give me your hat, and I’ll give you dimsum. I have lots of dimsum at home. If you’re good, I’ll keep giving you dimsum.”

The arrogant tone he used somewhat surprised everyone. It was quite astonishing to see this sort of demeanor in a child.

”Donghai, what nonsense are you spouting?” Bai Ruomei reproached him, walking towards him. However, while everyone was watching Bai Ruomei, Lu Donghai suddenly rushed over, yanked Niuniu’s hat off her head, and in the process, ruffled her hair so much that it seemed few strands were ripped off.

Before anyone could react, Niuniu, rubbing her head, burst into loud crying, ”Give me back my hat! Give me back my hat!”

But Lu Donghai just withdrew behind his approaching mother, triumphantly putting the little hat on his head.

Bai Ruozhu broke into a cold sweat. So, this little fat boy wasn’t flirting with the girl; he was eyeing her hat. But it was a girl’s hat- didn’t he feel ridiculous wearing it?

Although Lu Donghai was two years younger than Niuniu, he had a large head due to his obesity, so the hat didn’t look too big, but wearing a peach-pink hat on a fat, rosy-cheeked boy looked oddly amusing.

”Donghai, how can you take other people’s things? Give it back immediately!” Bai Ruomei scolded him.

But Lu Donghai stuck out his tongue at his mother and said, ”No way, it’s now mine.”

Everyone looked darkly at him, but they couldn’t vent their anger at a child. Just then, Xiaosi walked towards Lu Donghai.
