Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Xia Jinyuan spent two months recuperating in Myanmar. It was not until the wound on his chest had completely healed that Luke told Cobra that they could return to Molaban. After coming back, Luke had also received the heavy responsibility handed to him by Cobra. However, he was slightly worse off than Xia Jinyuan.

Luke didn’t have Xia Jinyuan’s courage to make a desperate move. Hence, even though he had been hiding for almost six years, he didn’t come into contact with Cobra’s secrets. However, with Xia Jinyuan’s invisible help, he made great progress.

Now, the situation was getting clearer. Even if Luke only provided a few clues from Xia Jinyuan, it was enough for Russia to create a gap in the impenetrable wall. This gap would become the exit for Luke to return to Russia and Xia Jinyuan to return to China in advance.

He was very happy that he would be able to return to his long-awaited hometown soon. While he was happy, he felt more and more guilty toward Xia Jinyuan. He knew that once something happened to Cobra, something would happen to his partner too.

That was because Russia wouldn’t keep someone who could pose a threat to him, especially if he was Cobra’s most trusted subordinate.

He had protested, but it was invalid. The Intelligence Bureau rejected his protest without any room for discussion and told him that if he wanted to return to Signal Flag, everyone around him, especially the partner that Cobra had assigned to him, had to die.

If his partner didn’t die, Russia would be in trouble. Signal Flag would be in trouble too. This included Luke.

Luke had even thought of secretly letting Xia go, but he knew very well that this was a stupid idea. If he let Xia go, the Russian side would still be able to find Xia and carry out an assassination.

Looking at his partner who said harsh words but still cooperated with him in times of action, Luke, who was laughing, knew deep down how he was actually feeling.

’Xia, my partner, how should I save you?’

Xia Jinyuan looked at his smile and stared at him with his deep black eyes. Then, he frowned slightly. ”Luke, are you… hiding something from me?”

This was Xia Jinyuan’s probing. Since he knew that he was leaving soon, he would see if Luke would reveal anything to him.

If he revealed something, he would reveal something too. For instance… he would choose to leave without relying on external help.

During this period of time, especially in the past week, he had seen Luke’s struggles. However, he never voiced out his thoughts.

Until now, Luke hadn’t suspected Xia’s identity. He probably wouldn’t know what his identity was until he left.

Xia Jinyuan didn’t plan to tell Luke either. Although the relationship between Russia and China was alright, they were still two countries. He didn’t plan to negotiate too intimately with Luke.

Seeing that Luke’s smile was stiff because of his words, Xia Jinyuan frowned even more. ”Your actions seem quite strange. It makes me feel that you’re hiding something big from me.”

”No, no, no. Not at all. You misunderstood.” Luke shrugged and spread his hands so that Xia Jinyuan could size him up better. ”Look, buddy. What big things can I hide from you?”

”Alright, Xia. Put on your shoes and go on a date with beautiful women with me. The weather is so good. It’s most suitable to bring some women on a car ride.”
