Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 618: Chapter 618: Inside the Ancestral Hall, Burning a Stick of Incense

”Ancestor, have you really forgotten everything that happened before?” Su Mountain asked in shock.

Scratching his head, the Su Family Ancestor replied with a bitter smile, ”What happened? I have no recollection at all.”

Su Mountain sighed heavily. ”Alas...” Just as he was preparing to explain, Ye Yun suddenly stepped forward and gently patted his shoulder.

”May I visit the ancestral hall of the Su family?” Ye Yun asked calmly.

Ancestral hall? Su Mountain was taken aback. This young man was not a member of the Su family. Why would he suddenly want to visit their ancestral hall?

However, remembering the kindness and favor this man had shown to the Su family, Su Mountain knew he could not refuse. Not only had this young man helped them resolve their family crisis, but he also gifted them several Emperor artifacts and even found the Su Family Ancestor.

Such a favor was as deep as the sea.

”If you wish to visit our ancestral hall, you are certainly welcome to!” Su Mountain readily agreed.

”What did you say? Su Mountain, how could you agree to let an outsider into our ancestral hall?” The Su Family Ancestor widened his eyes in reproof.

To him, Ye Yun was an outsider. And the ancestral hall, being such an important place, was only accessible to direct members of the Su family.

”Ancestor, I will explain this to you later...” Su Mountain smiled bitterly, giving Su Jinx a knowing look. ”Jinx, please lead this young master to the ancestral hall.”

”Alright!” Su Jinx readily agreed.

Seeing Su Mountain handling the situation well, Ye Yun nodded appreciatively and walked toward Su Jinx.

”Big brother, follow me,” Su Jinx smiled slightly and, ignoring the Su Family Ancestor, led Ye Yun away from the courtyard.

”...”

The Su Family Ancestor was left fuming, his beard bristling and eyes flashing.

After Ye Yun had disappeared, his pent-up anger finally erupted.

”Damn you, Su Mountain! Are you disregarding your ancestor now?” the Su Family Ancestor roared furiously.

”Ancestor, what do you think of this sword?” Helpless, Su Mountain pulled out an Emperor Sword from his storage ring.

”What? This sword?” The Su Family Ancestor hadn’t even touched the sword when the Super Divine Dragon Breath it radiated took his breath away. When he finally held the sword and felt it, his whole body stiffened, and he was rendered speechless.

This was an Emperor Sword! A genuine Emperor artifact! A Wushang Divine Soldier!

”Su Mountain, how... how do you possess such a Divine Sword?” The Su Family Ancestor was shaken, trembling as he spoke.

”It was gifted by that young man...” Su Mountain sighed, seemingly expecting the ancestor’s shocked reaction.

”My heavens! That young man actually gifted you an Emperor Sword? Who exactly is he?” The Su Family Ancestor stared in a certain direction, muttering to himself in shock.

”Ancestor, please take a look at my storage ring...” Su Mountain handed over his storage ring.

The Su Family Ancestor sent his Divine Sense into it. Upon looking inside, his eyes widened, and his whole body became like a clay statue, plunged into immense shock. Within the ring were several Emperor artifacts. This was terrifying. How could the Su family possess so many Emperor artifacts? Even the Supreme Sect of the Jiangchuan Dynasty didn’t have a single Emperor artifact. Yet their little Su family had several!

Startled by this thought, the Su Family Ancestor hastily returned the Emperor Sword to the storage ring. He carefully handed the ring back to Su Mountain.

”We must keep this a strict secret at all costs, or our Su family will face disaster...” the Su Family Ancestor said gravely.

”I understand, Ancestor. I just wanted you to see the kindness that the young man has shown toward our Su family.” Su Mountain accepted the ring, putting it on with a smile.

”This great kindness, our Su family will never forget!” the Su Family Ancestor said with much emotion. His prejudice against Ye Yun was completely gone.

”We suddenly have so many Emperor artifacts, what should we do?” The Su Family Ancestor, now anxious and restless, paced around the courtyard like an ant on a hot pan.

”Ancestor, there’s no need to worry excessively,” Su Mountain said.

”How could I not worry? If word of even one Emperor artifact leaks out, our Su family could face total destruction. Such Divine Soldiers... we can only look at them...” The Su Family Ancestor was almost in tears from anxiety. He could never have imagined that he, as the family’s old ancestor, would be almost crying because the family possessed several Emperor artifacts.

Su Mountain lowered his head, standing silently in place, deep in thought. The Su family was too weak; these Emperor artifacts... were extremely hot potatoes.

「Inside the Su family’s ancestral hall.」

Ye Yun stood in a certain spot, looking at a Spirit Plaque, and quietly lit an incense stick. It was the Spirit Plaque of his eldest disciple, Su Qi. One hundred thousand years had passed, but his eldest disciple ultimately could not withstand the erosion of time and had perished.

As the blue smoke slowly drifted past, Ye Yun’s gaze filled with melancholy. The scene of Su Qi challenging him in the past seemed to reappear before his eyes. It was precisely because Su Qi had lost that challenge that he had become Ye Yun’s disciple.

Big brother, why are you so kind to our Su family ancestors? Watching Ye Yun’s back, Su Jinx continuously wondered in her heart.

As he waited for the incense to burn out, Ye Yun’s emotions gradually returned to normal, pulling him from his reminiscence.

Ye Yun turned around and walked out of the ancestral hall.

Standing in the courtyard of the ancestral hall, Ye Yun looked around with a nostalgic expression and sighed lightly. This first visit to the Su family would also be his last. He had now offered incense for Su Qi. As time flowed, some profound memories were destined to be deeply buried by him.

WHOOSH!

Ye Yun stretched out his hand, and rays of light scattered around. He set up a powerful formation that enclosed the entire Su family and everything within a hundred-li radius.

”Big brother, what are you...” Su Jinx asked in surprise.

Ye Yun took out a token and smiled. ”I have set up a formation that can protect your Su family from being disturbed by any force. This is the control token for the formation. Keep it safe!”

Saying this, Ye Yun handed the token to Su Jinx.

”Ah...” Su Jinx accepted the token in a daze, looking at Ye Yun, dumbfounded. This big brother... why would he suddenly set up a formation for the Su family? What did it mean?

Once again, Ye Yun waved his hand, and rays of light sank deep into the ground. He had secretly extracted a strand of Su Jinx’s blood and placed a restriction deep underground. Only those of the Su family’s direct bloodline could enter the depths and retrieve the Emperor artifacts within.

”There are still some Emperor artifacts from the Ancient Ruins. I’ve placed them deep underground. I’ve set up a small Teleportation Array inside the ancestral hall; those of the Su family’s direct line can use it to enter...” Ye Yun whispered.

At this moment, two rays of light shot into the small courtyard from the distance. It was Su San and the Su Family Ancestor.

”Young master, what have you done to our Su family?” Su Mountain asked nervously.

”Su Jinx will tell you...” Ye Yun smiled lightly, star-like runes in his eyes flashing momentarily.

His Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye activated.

In that instant, the three of them were plunged into a dream-like state.

Ye Yun’s figure disappeared.

Meanwhile, a man’s voice suddenly echoed from inside a black carriage.

”Let’s go. We’re heading to the Heavenly Sun Dynasty!”

”Got it, boss!” Big Black Horse cheerfully responded, pulling the black carriage as it took off into the sky, disappearing from above the Su family in an instant.

「After a while.」

In the courtyard of the Su family’s ancestral hall, the three of them awoke as if from a dream.

”That mysterious senior has left...” Su Mountain said in a desolate tone, looking at the sky.

”That senior, who had established a connection with our Su family through our ancestors, treated our Su family with such great kindness!” The Su Family Ancestor was deeply shocked, tears welling in his eyes.

”That senior is as elusive as a divine dragon, showing its tail but not its head. I wonder if we’ll ever have the chance to see him again...” sighed Su Jinx.

None of the three realized that their memories had been altered by Ye Yun. They only knew that a mysterious senior had helped the Su family. As for what this senior looked like or where he was from, they had no clue.
