Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 606: Chapter 606: The Dragon Ancestor of the Water Dragon Sect

What? This old man is planning to marry his daughter to the lord? Has he lost his mind?

All the demon beasts on the black carriage lifted their heads, staring at Su Mountain in awe, wanting to laugh but not daring to.

Ye Yun couldn’t help but chuckle.

Good grief, why is Su Mountain trying to set me up with his daughter again? This is like pushing me, his ancestor, into a fiery pit!

”Clan Leader Su, I have some unfortunate news for you,” Ye Yun said, his face stiff as he feigned a sorrowful expression. ”It’s an ancestral decree in my family: we can only marry women from the Demon Clan. Marriage with women of the Human Race is forbidden!”

”What?” Su Mountain was stunned. Beside him, Su Jinx’s small face flushed as red as a ripe apple. Apparently, neither of them had expected Ye Yun’s family to have such an ancestral decree.

They both fell silent for a few seconds. Finally, Su Mountain broke the silence with an embarrassed smile. ”Well, if that’s the case, I won’t insist...”

Ye Yun nodded.

”Clan Leader, you’re finally back! There’s been a major crisis at home...” a middle-aged man in black attire cried out, running over from a distance with a grief-stricken expression.

”What happened?” Su Mountain asked quickly, his heart sinking.

”The Ancestor woke up! He absorbed the Essence Blood of dozens of Clan Members, and now his whereabouts are unknown...” the middle-aged man reported in a panicked tone.

The Ancestor... how could he do such a thing? Su Mountain’s heart pounded as he immediately rushed towards the backyard. When he arrived, he found over a dozen shriveled corpses floating in the pond. The coffin was shattered, and the Ancestor was nowhere to be found.

”Father, what on earth happened to the Ancestor?” Su Jinx asked, her body trembling as she followed closely behind and took in the horrifying scene.

”I’m not sure. I only feel that the Ancestor started acting strangely after consuming the Divine Element Longevity Fruit...” Su Mountain said, his face etched with sorrow.

The awakened Ancestor had killed some Clan Members. Although they weren’t from the direct lineage, they still carried the Su family’s bloodline. He speculated that the Ancestor had likely become mentally unstable.

Standing in the courtyard, Ye Yun watched the scene unfolding in the backyard, a slight raise in his eyebrow. The Blood Spirit Yin Gu within the Su family’s Ancestor has flared up.

”Master, the Blood Spirit Yin Gu in that old man suddenly flared up, causing him to lose his mind and go on a killing spree in the Su family...” a clear, crisp voice suddenly remarked. Ye Yun turned to see the Immortal Divine Silkworm speaking.

”You recognize this Blood Spirit Yin Gu?” Ye Yun asked curiously.

”Master, although I’ve lost many of my memories, seeing that little worm activated some ancient ones,” the Immortal Divine Silkworm explained, its chubby white body standing upright. ”Before this current epoch, there were indeed people who cultivated the Blood Spirit Yin Gu.”

”It was cultivated even before this epoch?” Ye Yun was astonished. He found it hard to imagine that this tiny Blood Spirit Yin Gu possessed such a profound history. He suddenly realized this matter might not be so simple. For the Blood Spirit Yin Gu to be passed down from a previous epoch to the present... that would mean it has existed for hundreds of millions, possibly billions, of years? Such an unbroken lineage clearly hinted at its terrifying nature.

”Master, the Blood Spirit Yin Gu controlling the old man’s body is still in flight. I have a clone that has been tailing him,” the Immortal Divine Silkworm reported.

”Excellent. Keep watch on him and see where he ultimately goes,” Ye Yun instructed.

The Immortal Divine Silkworm had lived for an entire epoch. Although it had lost many memories, it could still provide surprising insights at critical moments.

「A while later.」

Su Mountain and Su Jinx returned, their faces etched with sorrow.

”Clan Leader Su, it’s said that fortune favors the virtuous. I’m sure your Ancestor will be fine. Don’t worry,” Ye Yun consoled.

”I hope so... As it is, we don’t even know where our Ancestor has gone,” Su Mountain sighed, speaking helplessly.

”Just wait patiently for a few days. Perhaps your Ancestor will naturally return once he has concluded his affairs,” Ye Yun said reassuringly.

”That seems to be the only way.” Su Mountain nodded with lingering concern. After exchanging a few more words with Ye Yun, he asked his daughter to attend to their esteemed guest.

At this point, Ye Yun expressed his intention to stay with the Su family for a few days. Su Jinx was delighted and arranged a superior guest room for him.

「Three days passed in a flash.」

In the large underground tunnel, everyone had ceased their efforts, panting heavily from exhaustion.

”Let’s give up. The Seal is even stronger than before. Our combined attack power is simply insufficient!” the elderly Demon Clan member said with a helpless sigh, catching his breath.

”The strength of this Seal is something I’ve rarely witnessed in my lifetime. It seems we’ll need to gather the might of all the Supreme Sects in the entire Jiangchuan Dynasty. Only then might we have a chance to break it,” Xu Liu’an remarked gravely, his gaze fixed on the Seal.

The elderly Demon Clan member vehemently agreed. ”Sect Master Xu is absolutely right! Why don’t we gather all the forces of both the Human Race and the Demon Clan from the entire dynasty and attempt to break the Seal again in three days?”

”Alright, it’s settled!” Xu Liu’an nodded and decisively led his powerful subordinates away from the area.

The Demon Clan members who remained left a contingent to guard the location, while the others also departed.

After Xu Liu’an returned to his Sect, he immediately flew to a spot above a large lake situated in the back mountains.

”Xu Liu’an pays his respects to the Dragon Ancestor!” he announced, cupping his fists with a deferential expression.

”What is the matter?” a deep voice suddenly resonated from the depths of the lake.

”Dragon Ancestor, we face a great predicament! We need your esteemed self to intervene, put an end to this decisively, and eliminate that individual!” Xu Liu’an said in a low voice, then proceeded to narrate the entire sequence of events in detail.

”This matter is trivial. As it happens, I was planning an outing myself. I shall assist you with this along the way,” the Dragon Ancestor’s voice came from beneath the lake.

”Many thanks, Dragon Ancestor!” Joy illuminated Xu Liu’an’s face. He cupped his fists in salute, bowed deeply, and then turned to depart.

Upon returning to the Sect Leader’s Main Hall, Xu Liu’an’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a flicker of doubt crossed his face.

The Dragon Ancestor has been cultivating in seclusion within the inner lake of the Water Dragon Sect for tens of thousands of years. Why would he suddenly decide to go out? In his recollection, the Dragon Ancestor had no friends or relatives to speak of.

Forget it. The affairs of the Dragon Ancestor are not for me to speculate upon... After a moment of contemplation, Xu Liu’an dismissed the doubts from his mind and busied himself with his tasks. After all, he needed to notify the other two Supreme Sects and rally the most powerful forces in the Jiangchuan Dynasty to shatter the Seal.

「 ... 」

Deep at the bottom of the lake behind the Water Dragon Sect, an Aqua Blue Giant Dragon lay coiled in the clear waters.

”Strange. What did I just say? That I needed to go out?” the Aqua Blue Giant Dragon mused, blinking in confusion. It seemed to have no recollection of why it had said such a thing.

A sanguine glint flashed through its draconic eyes, gone in an instant.

The Aqua Blue Giant Dragon then returned to its normal state.

”Master’s plan, nurtured for tens of thousands of years... its success or failure now rests on this single endeavor!” the Aqua Blue Giant Dragon growled, a low rumble in its chest. Then, it abruptly surged upwards, bursting from the lake’s surface and into the sky.

Since I’ve already promised that young fellow Xu Liu’an, I might as well eliminate that character from the Su family en route! After a brief hesitation, the Aqua Blue Giant Dragon swiftly changed direction and soared rapidly towards Su Family Island.
