Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 600: Chapter 600: The Past of the Empress of Slaughter

”Chief Su, your storage ring is of too low a grade to hold this Emperor Sword. I happen to have two extra rings here; why don’t I give them to you two?” Ye Yun said with a smile, and immediately tossed out two storage rings.

Two flashes of light flickered and vanished.

Accompanying the disappearance of the light, two storage rings with restrained inner light appeared out of thin air before Su Mountain and Su Jin.

Seeing the scattered items around him, Su Mountain grew anxious. He quickly grabbed the storage ring, injecting Mana into it and swiftly refining it.

With a sweep of his hand, he collected all the scattered items, including the Emperor Sword.

PHEW!

Su Mountain let out a long breath, finally calming down.

This was his first time seeing a storage ring explode.

And the cause of it all was an Emperor Sword.

Emperor Level swords were things of legend, so he didn’t fully grasp the situation.

”Mister Ye, what grade is this ring?” Su Jin asked in shock, grasping the ring.

”It should be Emperor Level!” Ye Yun replied with a smile.

”What?”

”The storage ring is Emperor Level?” Su Jin shrieked in surprise, looking at Ye Yun in disbelief, her heart racing.

”They were handed down from my ancestors, and I just happen to have a few extra. So, I’m giving them to you,” Ye Yun said with a smile.

”Mister Ye, this gift is too valuable!” Tears welled in Su Jin’s eyes and, in an instant, began to flow.

Back in the Nether Immortal Dynasty, they were merely strangers who had met by chance. Su Jin never expected this man in white to be so kind to her.

Feeling so touched that she had no way to repay him, at this moment, she even contemplated offering herself to him.

”Don’t be so courteous with me. I have too many storage rings and no real use for them,” Ye Yun waved his hand indifferently and then flew ahead.

Watching the man in white behave so nonchalantly, Su Jin wiped away her tears and suddenly broke into a smile through them.

”Daughter, it seems this young man truly likes you. After we leave these Ancient Ruins, I’ll propose a marriage to him!” Su Mountain leaned in and whispered quietly.

He used a sound transmission, naturally fearing that the powerful Ye Yun would overhear.

”This gentleman has been so good to our Su family... even if I offer myself, I’m afraid I could never repay this kindness,” Su Jin said softly, her face blushing as she lowered her head.

”As they say, ’those involved are often blind, while onlookers see clearly.’ Your old dad has been watching from the side, and it’s clear to me that the young man in white truly likes you,” Su Mountain said with a smile.

”Oh!” Su Jin’s face turned crimson. Her head was nearly buried in her chest; overcome with emotion, she was unable to speak.

”Let’s go quickly; our benefactor is waiting up ahead!” Seeing his daughter behaving like a shy young maiden, Su Mountain burst into laughter and immediately flew ahead with Su Jin.

Even though the two were using sound transmission to communicate, how could it possibly escape Ye Yun’s Divine Skills?

Well, well, Su Mountain, you old fox, to think you’d have such ideas. How unexpected! Daring to use such a ’poisonous hand’ against this old ancestor... Ye Yun thought, feeling quite embarrassed.

Although Su Jin was beautiful enough to overshadow nations, a peerless beauty of her generation, Ye Yun’s heart was already as still as water; naturally, he wouldn’t entertain any thoughts about her.

Besides, the generational gap between them was far too wide.

The gap in their generations was too wide. Thinking of this, Ye Yun’s mind suddenly recalled a special woman.

「A hundred thousand years ago.」

A woman had appeared out of nowhere, calling herself the Empress of Slaughter. She possessed terrifying combat power and had a lust for killing. She once rampaged across the Cangnan Continent, slaying many experts.

Even Eternal Sects had immense headaches dealing with this unpredictable Empress of Slaughter.

Back then, as the foremost expert of the Eternal Realm, Ye Yun was in his prime and was naturally drawn into a battle with this Empress of Slaughter.

Naturally, Ye Yun emerged victorious.

However, he hadn’t expected that this Empress of Slaughter would actually fall for him.

Though the name ’Empress of Slaughter’ was terrifying, she had an excellent temperament, a stunning face, and skin like jade. Compared to all of Ye Yun’s female confidantes, she was a cut above.

Initially, Ye Yun had been somewhat moved.

However, when he learned that the Empress of Slaughter was tens of thousands of years older than him, Ye Yun immediately decided to back out.

She was, quite literally, an old demoness.

A clear case of an old cow grazing on tender grass.

Ye Yun wasn’t pleased at the time; he had many beloved women and saw no need to add such an uncomfortable relationship to his life.

Therefore, Ye Yun did his utmost to distance himself from the Empress of Slaughter.

The Empress of Slaughter was furious. She devised various schemes and traps, trying to capture Ye Yun and imprison him within her palace.

Ye Yun fought her again, and once more, he was victorious.

Recalling some past sentiment, Ye Yun didn’t kill her but instead sealed the Empress of Slaughter.

Now, a hundred thousand years had passed.

That Empress of Slaughter had probably long since vanished into the mists of time.

Thinking about the absurd things he did a hundred thousand years ago, Ye Yun now saw them as acts of youthful impetuousness.

After all, he was only in his early twenties at the time. As the Sect Master of the Dragon God Sect, an Eternal Sect, he was invincible across the entire continent. It was natural that he became a bit arrogant and had many beloved women.

...

As the major forces of the Demon Clan continued to explore the depths of the Ancient Ruins, many people gained some opportunities. However, it was also strange that as soon as anyone discovered Emperor Level weapons or magical items, they would suddenly vanish into thin air.

The scene was almost identical to when the Little Flower had disappeared.

As the saying goes, the strange becomes familiar with repeated exposure. Slowly, everyone grew accustomed to it.

They had already resigned themselves to the fact that they could not possess an Emperor artifact.

「After a few time units had passed.」

Nearly all the forces had reached the depths of the Ancient Ruins—the vicinity of a black mountain.

”Is this a prison?” Han Jianglong of the Water Dragon Sect stood at the entrance of a pitch-black gate, peered inside, and said in a deep voice.

”Judging from the layout, it should be. How about we go in and take a look first?” an old man from the Demon Clan suggested.

”Alright!” Han Jianglong nodded.

The black Emperor Sword from earlier had, after a fierce struggle, naturally fallen into the hands of the Water Dragon Sect.

Now that the exploration of these Ancient Ruins was nearing its end, this huge prison could not be overlooked.

Perhaps there was some opportunity within.

Han Jianglong and the old Demon Clan man were the strongest cultivators from the Human Race and Demon Clan, respectively. So, once they had agreed, no one else objected.

After several experts from the Water Dragon Sect and the Demon Clan elder’s group entered, the other major forces also filed into the black gate.

Ye Yun and the other two followed leisurely from behind, flying in.

After everyone entered the prison and flew around for some time, they suddenly discovered a vast, silver dragon-like Spirit Stone Mine. It lay within a part of the prison formed by many black pillars, radiating a dazzling silver light and overwhelming Spiritual Energy.

Zhao Jiugong, standing in the crowd, immediately widened his eyes and exclaimed in amazement, ”What kind of Spirit Stone is this? How is its quality even higher than the Spirit Stones outside?”

”Zhao Jiugong, take out the Spirit Stones you obtained from outside so this old man can examine them,” Han Jianglong turned and said.

”Yes!” With a solemn expression, Zhao Jiugong dared not delay. He flew over, took out a large piece of Spirit Stone mined from outside, and handed it to the high-ranking expert from the Water Dragon Sect.

”The quality of this Spirit Stone is indeed very high, but the Spirit Stones from that Dragon-shaped Spirit Stone Mine should be of even higher quality,” Han Jianglong said in a deep voice after examining it.

”Let’s go. This Spirit Stone Mine isn’t small. Both the Human Race and my Demon Clan have a considerable number of experts present. How many Spirit Stones one can obtain will depend on individual ability,” the elderly man from the Demon Clan said, looking at Han Jianglong with a serious expression.

”Very well!” Han Jianglong pondered for a moment, then promptly agreed.

The Demon Clan’s power in the Jiangchuan Dynasty was also extremely vast. For tens of thousands of years, the two sides had generally coexisted harmoniously, with large-scale conflicts being rare.

Since the Demon Clan elder had spoken, he couldn’t refute it; otherwise, he risked being attacked by the collective.

Relying on one’s own abilities and taking what one needed was currently the best way to maintain balance among the major forces.

”CHARGE!” A great demon of the Life and Death Realm from a small Demon Clan team, known for his fiery temperament, heard the two finalize their agreement. He immediately roared and led his men charging in.

The others, unwilling to be left behind, scrambled ahead, surging like a torrent into the prison formed by the numerous black pillars.
