I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 158: Chapter 93: Summarized by the Word ’Happiness

They walked toward the picnic area, away from the stage. Jiang Wanyi adjusted the stroller, laying it flat and pulling down the sunshade. Chen Yuan gently placed the baby inside. The two of them worked together in perfect harmony.

”You must be tired. Here, wipe your sweat.”

Jiang Wanyi handed a wet wipe to Chen Yuan, then took a checkered cloth out of her bag and spread it on the lawn.

The picnic blanket was well-designed, with round holes in its four corners, apparently made specifically for picnics.

”This job’s for you.”

Jiang Wanyi held up four L-shaped metal stakes. They just needed to be pushed through the four small holes to secure the blanket.

”A piece of cake.”

The task required no skill, only strength.

Effortlessly, Chen Yuan pushed the four L-shaped stakes into the grass, securing the picnic blanket.

Taking off their shoes, they sat down, and Jiang Wanyi took out the food.

”Is this salad store-bought, or did you make it?”

”Of course I made it,” Jiang Wanyi said proudly.

”Your cooking is amazing.”

The baby was asleep, and the two of them enjoyed a rare moment of leisure.

Jiang Wanyi realized that she and Chen Yuan were actually quite compatible in some ways.

When it came to taking care of the baby, Chen Yuan was very experienced, and small household chores seemed to be a piece of cake for him.

She, on the other hand, was skilled at cooking at home. It felt like they complemented each other.

’This is so nice.’

”I’m craving something different. How about we drop the baby off at my mom’s next week and go out to eat, just the two of us?” Jiang Wanyi suggested.

”What are you in the mood for?”

”Barbecue,” Jiang Wanyi said.

”I heard the barbecue from your hometown is famous. I wonder if there’s any authentic kind here in Zhonghai. Can you check on Douyin and see if you can find a good spot?”

At the mention of barbecue, Chen Yuan’s interest was piqued.

”I’ve actually seen a few places online. We can go check them out this weekend.”

Jiang Wanyi took out her phone and opened the Meituan app, planning to find a movie to watch after they ate since there was nothing else to do.

”What do you think of this movie? Looks like a comedy. We could go see it this weekend after dinner.”

Jiang Wanyi said, handing him her phone.

”This movie looks pretty good, but...”

”But what?” Jiang Wanyi asked.

”It’s not in the couple’s section. I’m not going.”

”The couple’s section...”

Jiang Wanyi remembered what happened last time, and a blush crept up from behind her ears.

”In your dreams. I’m not booking a couple’s section.”

”Then I guess I’m not going.”

”Yes, you are!”

Chen Yuan smiled and lay down on the blanket, comfortably enjoying the afternoon sun.

”You can rest your head on my lap. Lying flat isn’t comfortable.”

”You got it.”

Jiang Wanyi scrolled through her phone, wondering which showtime to book.

The time was easy to decide: Saturday evening would be fine.

But choosing the seats was what gave her pause.

’Was he joking, or does he really want to sit in the couple’s section?’

’That brat. He’s getting bolder and bolder.’

’But...’

’Should I book it or not?’

After thinking for a long time, Jiang Wanyi still couldn’t decide.

’I’ll stop thinking about it. There’s still a week, anyway. I’ll deal with it then.’

WAH WAH WAH...

Before long, Little Mili woke up and started crying in her stroller.

Chen Yuan got up and held her in his arms, and she quieted down after a moment of comforting.

Jiang Wanyi stood behind him, wiping Little Mili’s tears.

”I think she’s probably a little hungry. We should get going. We can change her diaper, too.”

”Okay. You comfort her for a bit while I pack everything up.”

He carried the baby to the side, pulled off her used diaper, and threw it in the trash.

The two of them stood there, Chen Yuan holding Little Mili and looking at the other people in the park, not with any particular focus, just watching.

They hadn’t brought much with them, and Jiang Wanyi was deft, so she packed everything up quickly.

After putting their things in the bag, her gaze drifted into the distance, watching Chen Yuan and her precious daughter.

’In this moment, we really don’t look any different from a family of three.’

”All packed. Let’s go.”

Hearing Jiang Wanyi’s voice, he turned around, still holding the baby.

”Today’s autumn outing is over. We’re going home with Mommy now.”

”Goo goo... ga ga...”

Mili wasn’t at the age to be fussy about playtime yet. As long as Chen Yuan was holding her, she was happy, baring her little teeth and waving her arms and legs in his embrace.

”You should put her in the stroller. It’s been a long day, you must be tired too.”

”I don’t feel tired at all. This is less tiring than playing basketball for two hours.”

”Youth is a powerful thing. My stamina can’t quite keep up. I’ll skip yoga tonight when I get home and do some aerobics to get myself back in shape.”

”That’s a good idea.”

After leaving the wetland park, Jiang Wanyi got into the back seat first. Chen Yuan carried the baby over to a flowerbed and whistled, encouraging her to relieve herself so she wouldn’t have an accident in a bit.

She didn’t pee much this time. After she was done, he handed her over to Jiang Wanyi.

”Alright, Mommy, the rest is up to you.”

Jiang Wanyi’s chest shook with laughter as she took the baby.

”I know, Daddy.”

”Hey, hey, hey... I haven’t even closed the door yet. Why are you lifting up your shirt already?”

”Shoo, shoo. Stop fooling around. Go stand watch for me outside.”

”You got it.”

He closed her car door and stood waiting outside.

Inside the car, Jiang Wanyi held the baby and began to breastfeed. This time, Little Mili was well-behaved and didn’t bite. Her pair of beautiful, big eyes were smiling up at her the whole time.

Outside, Chen Yuan stood with his back to the car, looking left and right like a bodyguard.

Jiang Wanyi couldn’t describe her state of mind at that moment. The only word that could summarize it was ”happiness.”

Little Mili was quite hungry; she didn’t stop until she had emptied both sides.
